event: memory corrupt

On the morning of Friday, June 1st, characters who are participating in this event will wake up with their memories of their entire life history altered. While they will still remember their time in Mayfield, they will believe themselves to be from an alternate universe than the canon they're from. Examples of AUs we will allow include but are not limited to:

alternate timeline; the overall world remains the same, but someone makes a different decision than the one in canon that sends the universe traveling down the other leg of the Trousers of Time. (For example, what if Harry Potter chose to be in Slytherin rather than Gryffindor?)

alternate setting; the fundamental rules of how the canon world works have changed. (Example: If Pokemon often killed humans or died instead of fainting.)

alternate history; your character is now from a different era in their world than the one in canon.

alternate future; essentially a fake/alternate canon-update. Please note that while your character may now have memories of being older than their current age, they will not physically age up as well.

Feel free to come up with AUs outside of the above as well. That said, we will not allow the following types of AUs:

non-canon crossovers; if the crossover doesn't exist in canon, it won't be allowed. (A Kingdom Hearts character believing themselves to be from the world of Aladdin is fine; a Kingdom Hearts character believing themselves to be from the world of Harry Potter is not.)

alternate species; your character must remain the same species as they are in canon.

We will also not allow the following:

alternate regains; all current regains your character may have in Mayfield will remain the same. A non magic-user in canon who is being taken from a universe where they're a sorcerer will still be unable to use magic in Mayfield. Characters will also not be able to use the Post Office to trade for regains from their alternate universe, unless it's a regain they would be able to normally acquire.

physical changes; no matter what AU your character is from, they will remain physically identical to their canon counterpart.

If you have any questions, please use the thread in this post. Feel free to also use this post to plot with your fellow players. This event will end on Tuesday, June 5th, upon which all characters will wake up with their canon memories intact.

Len Kagamine will have memories based on The Detective Loupe - Farewell to the Man of 256 Faces, where he is a great detective in a virtual world.

Rin Kagamine will be from an AU based on The Cursed Glasses ~ stray girl in her lenses

And she actually has all of her stuff from that PV, so yeah, Rin's going to be walking around wearing vision-distorting glasses and almost no clothes toting a bigass rifle that doesn't work (unless you're from a video game and have hit points. Her gun can hit your hit points.)

Oh, I should also mention. Cursed Glasses Rin is really angry and violent! All the time!

Tsubaki is going to be AU'd with a fake canon update. This update is the ultra bad end for her - acting on the orders of the Imperator and murdering her friends Noel and Jin for treason. In canon she doesn't go through with her orders because she doesn't want to kill them, but in this ultra bad end she decides against her hesitations and wastes them. She is also made into the Imperator's guard for the good work and is blind. Naturally she won't be blind during the event and will look the same as always, but her attitude will be much colder and less personal than normal. Though I should mention that because her friend Noel is still erased from her memories, the girl she kills in the AU (Noel) will only be perceived as the girl who became Jin's secretary.

Alongside this, her decision to murder Noel and Jin will stem from her belief in maintaining the Order. Noel and Jin went against the Order, the thing that is naturally good and is needed for humanity to survive, and thus she killed them for it. As such she will operate under such a mentality - that anyone who defies what is good must be killed, no matter what the situation is. Tsubaki won't go killing people for breaking simple laws, but someone who she perceives as a threat to peace and stability may be subjected to attack. Same goes for people who are generally acting out and trying to hurt others and the town. She's more or less teters the line of indiscriminate killing, deciding that bad people should be punished no matter how good they may appear.

I'd like to possibly have her be involved in some fights with this in mind, so if anyone wants to do something like that I would be glad to. No one has to die if you don't want them to, but it can be arranged as well. This goes the same for Tsubaki, if your character is strong enough to kill her (which for most super powered types won't be difficult, as she is just a badass normal in the end)

tl;dr Tsubaki is coming from a fake Bad End and goes down the deep end in regards to Lawful Good - that in order to uphold peace, she must kill anyone who threatens it and it doesn't matter if they are a bad or good person. No more miss nice girl. ALSO WHO WANTS TO FIGHT?!

Basco will be from an alternate universe where Marvelous joined his side after he betrayed AkaRed, instead of the two becoming enemies.

Hyuuga will be a Ghost; an enemy of Verlorlen. This means that he is supposed to be the enemy of Ayanami. Who he, in canon, absolutely love. This, he will continue to do, but he will be working under a disguise as one of Ayanami's men... However the hell he's managed to hide the fact that he's a Ghost from Ayanami.. And while he adore him, he knows that he has to make sure Ayanami's wishes don't come true.
Also, Yukikaze, Ayanami's begleiter, never died protecting Ayanami. He is still alive, and him and Hyuuga are rivals for Ayanami's affections.

Hibari will have joined the assassination squad Varia after the Ring Battle. He was reqruited by Xanxus and Squalo, and he's not as allergic to crowds as he normally is. And he'll have actually killed people.

Fran never left France. He still lived with his grandmother, and was never picked up by Mukuro. He'll believe in fairies, and call people different types of such. (and also try to make them go away onbora-kokko) He won't know anyone from his own canon, and instead of an assassin, he works with something normal. Like gardener. Yes, gardener.

Maya never met Otoya. This means that she is not in love with a human and she is still the Queen of the Fangrie. The child that she is pregnant with is not Otoya's, but King's. Which would mean that in her universe, Wataru is the son of King, and full fangaia.

Yukihina never betrayed Heike, meaning he is still alive. And I've also decided to strip him of his powers and give him an alternative of it. He can control water, yes. But not in as fog, or as ice. He's not an ice cold person anymore, after all. And since the usual Yukihina sees Heike as evil, that would mean that Yukihina also would be so. Not that he'd have much a different personality. No anger, though. And he'll not be able to regenerate, as that comes with being undead.

Keroro: His alternate history will be from based from episodes 101-103. The Keroro Platoon's planet sends the Garuru Platoon to replace them. One by one, each of the members fall. Keroro surrenders but the enemy gave his memory a reboot plus the latest Keron army training--making him Captain Keroro. Instead of the canonical ending, this Keroro is permanent and does succeed in the invasion of Earth. He won't be the goofy stupid frog Mayfield knows. He'll be sharp, cruel leader.

Saori: Her alternate history will affect her personality. Years of fighting off supernatural creatures and rogue souls who want to eat other souls to gain power boosts eventually wears on a person’s morality. While original universe Saori manages to continue her mission, this version snaps and goes rogue herself. She doesn’t absorb souls unlike the others, but just wants to be left alone.

Only AUing one of my girls, but you can bet I'm throwing all of them into the mix.

Sakura(

returntospring) will be coming from an AU where she was never given away to the Matou - instead, she remained with her birth family as Sakura Tohsaka. Personality-wise she's still very similar; she comes from a high-class family, so she's extremely polite, and she was always a nice girl, so that won't change. Having been raised by a family that actually cares for her, she's a lot more confident than her canon counterpart. She has the pride of being a Tohsaka to go with it, too, but the mix of the two never really crosses over into arrogance. She never really hesitated when it was time for her to join the Holy Grail War; there's still some bad feelings fighting people she likes, but she knows she has a duty to do.

She tries to be more distant because of the whole "no normal humans can find out about magic or else we have to kill them" thing, but haha that backfires a lot. She just gets kinda dodgy if the topic ever nears it, that's all. She also had a huge guilt complex over being forced to ignore her sister (though that really didn't go as well as she hoped), but she's slowly getting over it thanks to the time they spent together in Mayfield.

Vivio is from an Alternate Ending of StrikerS; Riot Force 6 never rescues her and she is arrested for her involvement in the JS incident. She is very bitter towards everyone from Riot 6 and will spend most of the event in her adult form, because she sees no point in being a weak child.

Claudia will be played from an Alternative Universe where she never met Xeno and the Crimson Shell was ever established. She is very reclusive and thinks poorly of herself.

Satou comes from an Alternate Timeline where Horie didn't leave after her father died, but instead openingly began using Satou as a tool for revenge. Masume was destroyed and Satou learned that she couldn't get her mother to love her as a human, so has lost her motivation to hide her bad traits and focuses on being the perfect weapon. She's no longer tries to be a nice person.

Madoka comes from an Alternate Universe where witches don't exist and she has magical girl fun timez with all of her friends forever and ever.

Keine, Winry, and Rika are not being AUed.

Nox is going to come from an alternate version of his backstory, where the power of love prevailed after all and Nox was able to successfully distance himself from the influence of the Cube, reunite with his family, and arrive just in time to drown in the massive flood that later swept the entire island. So sad.

He'll be rather melancholic (due to his life being over outside of Mayfield) and still rather disturbed but without the single-minded obsessiveness or the murderously hostile attitude. In fact, he'll actually be pretty nice! Here's to tagging all of you with an uncharacteristically pleasant character!

Edward Elric is going to be from an alternate ending. He gives up his alchemy to get Al back from the other side of the Gate, but it doesn't work. When the transmutation is complete Ed is without alchemy and his little brother is dead.

Soul Eater Evans is coming from an AU where the roles between him and his brother, Wes, are essentially switched. Soul's known for his musical talent and he loves to play piano for people and is super confident in his abilities. He is still a Weapon and he hates it. He never wanted to leave home, but because of what he is, he had to give it all up to go to Shibusen to learn how to control his power.

Naoto Shirogane is not going to be AUed.

So yeah I changed my idea.

Henry is instead going to turn into a mini Regina. Aka he's going to Bat crap crazy evil little sociopath. In AUland he would have received the storybook from Miss.Blanchard but instead of sympathizing with Snow White and wanting to break the curse it's going to be the exact opposite. Instead the book painted Regina in a better light while depicting Snow in a bad one. So he's going to be going around acting like a little cocky jerk. Probably not on the same level as Regina but he's going to be rather nasty.

OK, let's see what I've got going for my kids.

Belphegor will be from an AU where he never killed his brother and his parents. He never left his home country, and ended up getting married. So basically he's cheating on his imaginary wife with Niou. He killed the first few of his fiances instead though, ending up with quite the dom for a wife. Since his brother isn't dead, he won't have his berserk button, and spilling his blood won't make him go nuts. He's still lazy, mean and a genius, but he spent longer of his life in his brother's shadow, and he and Jill has spent far more years trying to kill each other. And Jill has now become the king in their home country.

Ryoma never went to Japan and is instead a part of the American team. So OK, he went to Japan but just shortly, for Invitationals. He will only recognize the ones who were on the Invitational team when it comes to his Japanese castmates. He's now best friends with Kevin.

Taki goes to Shitenhouji. Compared to Hyoutei, that's a 180. From snob school to hippie school. His manners will be different, and...well, a lot different compared to normally.

As for JK, he never met Gentarou. This means that he still considers friendships to be something that's all fake and everyone who believe in them are idiots.

Yachiyo never met Kyouko, which means she kept getting teased for being a tiny girl with a sword strapped to her back. This eventually made her snap (much like she snaps when she thinks someone's oing to steal Kyouko from her) and she might attack people. She ended up joining a gang and is not really the nice girl she is normally. She might or might not have killed a couple of the people who bullied her.

Code:Emperor never gave his arm to Rei, but chose to give it to "The One Being Sought" instead. He never fell asleep and has been awake the entire time. He never founded Kibou High and Eden wasn't founded, instead starting starting an army of the power users he found. He still knows Heike, but Heike is purely his enemy. They were never allied, not at any point.

Last is Nurarihyon. As for him....he never met Youhime, nor did he fight Hagoromo Gitsune. This means he's not the Lord of Pandemonium, nor did his heart get ripped out and eaten. So he'll be really confused by his heart missing. ...I'm still working on the details for his AU.

Cade will no longer be a skirt-chaser.

When he was younger, his mom, instead of putting up with her husbands crap, left for Caisleain and took Cade with her. Cade was educated at the academy and is the pinnacle of a proper Caisleain gentleman. Very polite, eager to help out, etc. He never learned much in the way of swordsmanship and never became an adventurer, he instead learned white magic and became a healer. In his spare time he makes enchanted toys for children.

Olivier will be from an alternate timeline where her mother sent her to a boarding school out of the country in Aruego to keep her from joining the military academy. So, she will be a snobby socialite rather than a major general.

She might speak of her late husband, who died mysteriously from food poisoning while they were traveling through Xing. It was too hard for her to be reminded of him, so she converted back to the name Armstrong

She will still be good with a sword, have a sharp tongue, and want to get out of Mayfield, but she won't be avoiding wearing dresses.

America is going to be from an alternate universe where he lost the Revolutionary War and remained a British colony. Um, obviously that involves rewriting a whole lot of history to catch up to his canon point, so any ideas would be appreciated!

Minerva is going to be from a world where her father ~~pulled a Kyouko's dad~~ didn't take well to learning that his wife and daughter were witches, calling them heathens and attacking them, forcing them out of the house. Resulting in Minerva being much less Muggle-friendly, as well as less trusting in general.

Jeanne dies heroically in battle and serves as a martyr, rather than being burned at the stake. She ends up in the Drifters realm, but this time as a Drifter herself. As per history, she will be a pacifist who takes "Thou shall not kill" very seriously, but a very good tactician and knight. And instead of insane nihlist, she will be an optimistic Christian saint.

Tsubaki will be coming from a universe where she was very spoiled as a child and raised believing she will be the best weapon ever in existence. She will still have had the showdown with her brother, but he won't despise her for always going along with the crowd and being week, but for overshadowing him and being too strong.

She is basically going to have Black*Star's personality.

Greed will be from an alternate setting where only females can be alchemists. So he will have mommy issues instead of daddy issues, and be very perplexed if he sees any of his male cast mates using alchemy.

He may also not be as nice to women. D:

So for this event, I'm pulling out Actual Roman Rory!

Which is to say he was always a ~~hot Italian~~ Roman soldier, who just happened to be around when the Doctor and his beautiful ginger Pond companion stopped in for a visit to the Pandorica! His beautiful, beautiful ginger companion. :'|

In this universe, Rory Williams was never born in Leadworth in modern times, and not even because he got killed and sucked into a crack in time and erased. He was born a Roman, raised a Roman, lived and became a pretty average badass Roman guy. Amy, being Amy, eventually wound up finagling a visit to her favorite time period, and the Doctor, being the Doctor, naturally managed to pop in for this visit just in time for alien shenanigans. I'm still not sure on the details because I'm great at last-minute planning, but suffice it to say Roranicus wound up running around with the TARDIS duo getting into these shenanigans. I've been thinking maybe being a rare actual human Roman when shit got real with the Pandorica. You know, volunteered his services, stabbed a Cyberman, failed to prevent Amy being shot by a plastic Roman WHOOPS. The Doctor would zap back from the future to ask him to get him out of the Pandorica, and Amy would go in as canon demands, and when the Doctor ollied outtie 2000 years into the future, Rory asked to go along to make up for being shit at keeping gingers safe.

He would have tried to pull some last centurion stunts in this universe but I mean. "I'll look after your companion in her box for less than a tenth of the time it will be hanging out on this planet" doesn't really seem as good an idea as "take me with you, I'll stab things."

And then he probably grappled with a Dalek in the future keeping someone from getting exterminated and got himself exterminated instead. It's just what happens, bro. But he got to tell a beautiful scottish lady that she was a beautiful scottish lady before the end.

Believe it or not, this is not because he's Rory. It's just because he was an adorable side character on Doctor Who and that is what happens to them. :'|

But the universe reset through the power of Amy's memories and he got back to his time alive and Roman, so it's okay! He probably remembers his adventure and most people think he's nuts and eventually those two would probably drop in to be like "by the way you're not crazy it's cool bro" or something, but he'd have totally come into the game from before that would happen.

So coming to Mayfield, BIG CHANGE from his usual! He's likely gotten involved in some time period adjustment shenanigans and sought out good sword substitutes to handle all these horror game problems with, and then probably followed the Doctor like a lost puppy a bit and Amy a bit more. IDEK IDEK THIS JUST SEEMS LIKE A FUN IDEA AND I LIKE ROMANS.

Okay, so I've finally decided that Kyon will effectively be from a The Vanishment of Nagato Yuki-chan style AU where he has as of yet not met Haruhi back home!

Basically, no aliens, no time travellers, no espers, Kyon is an ordinary high school student who is a member of the Literature Club with Yuki Nagato and Ryoko Asakura.

Anyone who wants to do anything with that, uh... Go ahead?

So I apparently...forgot to check this post yesterday :D

Charles is from an AU in which he wasin the camps with Erik and thus was subjected to the similar torments. Not only that, but he was constantly aware of those around him and their feelings. He never got a grip on his telepathy and is grateful it is gone. He also is mostly self-educated and while still a genius, does not have the degrees to back it like he normally does. Additionally, there was no revenge plot on Shaw, and while everything was stopped - he had no part in that.

Plus, he's been in the wheelchair nearly as long as he can remember versus it being a recent injury. Personally wise, he's going to be quiet, uncertain, and not trusting as opposed to his normally friendly (and sometimes foot-in-mouth talking) self.

Peeta never got saved by District 13. Which means more time being tortured. More time to get bitter. And more time to get rewritten (ala Trackerjackers). He is very little of what he used to be. Trackerjackers have the ability to warp memories to begin with, so he's still in a state of thinking Katniss is a monster that wants him dead. He's basically a dick with no brain to mouth filter.

Alternate History: Hungary is now from the time period right following the end of the Ottoman Wars in 1699, bur prior to joining Austria's house. Essentially, she still believes and identifies as being male, and her stay in Mayfield has not convinced her otherwise. Having had conveniently no male adult figure at 456 Stone st for a long time, she's taken over the father slot (in her head, at least).

I'm putting this here for linking purposes more than anything but if you wanna plot that's cool too!

AU!Raz is not psychic. So, his dad never put him through training from hell, the mysterious cloaked figure never gave him a pamphlet for Whispering Rock, and the events of Psychonauts never happened. Since he was never there to stop Oleander, his ARMY OF BRAIN TANKS thing may have succeeded, but AU!Raz is being pulled to Mayfield from approximately the same time frame as when he would have run away from the circus in the OU, so he never would have heard of Oleadner taking over the world if that happened.

Raz is mostly the same personality-wise. He still likes comic books and probably still reads True Psychic Tales. He just doesn't dream of someday being a Psychonaut and fighting supervillains because hey, not psychic.

The biggest changes this will cause is that he WILL still have all of his powers in Mayfield, except now he doesn't know how to control them, so I hope you like things randomly bursting into flame. Plus, he doesn't remember Milla and Lili having never met them. This is gonna be awkward when he snaps out of it since Lili is droned. D:

Viktoria and Toni are unaffected by AU MADNESS so they will be around reaction.gif'ing at everyone.

Applejack: In an AU, Applejack didn't stay and worked on the farm, instead, she toured around Equestria with her parents who are famous first rate rodeo performers. Quickly becoming a star as well, she's as well-known as Calamity Mane and Wild Bull Hickok among many sport fans. She only knows the rest of the mane six from her infrequent visits to Ponyville, though she's gotten wrapped up in some of their antics when she was there. Used to the celebrity treatment, she's quite a bit arrogant and proud, but still tries to be approachable. Anything for a fan, after all!

Groot: For the most part, things are pretty much the same for Groot up until he tried to stop a giant squid-thing from another universe trying to eat the Inhuman's city of Attilan. Instead of the T-bomb causing a fracture that leads to a universe where life doesn't die (eventually called the 'cancer-verse' by the Guardians), it opened one to where life ceased to exist, an endless void that started to suck the life of everyone in Attilan. Working with Maximus the Mad to reassert their dimension and save the city, Groot began a conversation with Maximus about where The Fault went and what it could mean for their dimension. Slowly the two became more and more obsessed with the simple nothingness of this dimension, and instead of helping the Guardians to close The Fault decided it was better to replace their universe with the endless void. The fracture was causing their dimension to come apart at the seems, what lay ahead was a slow destruction into nothingness for all, so why not simply be done with it and embrace the Great Void that was in The Fault? Groot and Maximus were about to use a newly devised quantum weapon that would do the reverse of the original, that is assert the dimension of the Great Void on their own, when the Guardians attempted to intervene in a battle that, last Groot can remember, ended with an explosion with everyone at ground zero. He woke up here in Mayfield, a human, and working at a grocery store. He's not sure what happened, but this isn't his home, nor the void he was attempting to achieve. With no one else he recognizes around, he has slowly been bidding his time, trying to figure out if this is some unintended consequences due to the device, or he is dead, and this is some form of hell. As such, he is extremely paranoid and even less open than he was before. He has been slowly going through the motions of Mayfield as he thinks of a way to improvise a way to either escape, or end this dimension.
