Character Name: Giegue (Giygas) Character Series: Mother Character Age: At least a century old Background:http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Giygas Personality: As the leader of his own race of beings from another world, Giegue has long learned to close off his emotions in favor of coldly accomplishing his mission: the enslavement of the human race. He believes that emotions like empathy and compassion are feelings that only get in the way. Without distinction, he is wholeheartedly willing to carry out his mission no matter who may be foolish enough to stand in his way. It's true that while he is loyal to his planet and willing to carry out its will mechanically and systematically, he has retained feelings like hatred and disgust when it comes to the human beings. Beyond his loyalties, which certainly pushed him to follow a path of conquest, Giegue has a personal vendetta against Earth that is rooted in the betrayal from his human paternal figure, George.
Giegue's favorite tactic of dealing with humans is arguably turning them against one another. He spreads his power and influence to make inanimate objects come to life, turn animals violent and rabid, and strengthen the evil inside people to have them fight amongst each other. The alien sees humans and the people of Earth to be weak this way because of how easily susceptible they are to his influence. They have no power to call their own and chase after it without abandon, falling headfirst into their own graves instead. This is largely the humanity that Giegue has been accustomed to in his experiences, although admittedly, he deliberately hides knowledge of their inner kindness for the sake of his mission.
Giegue realizes that there are humans who are kind and gentle, and exactly this that he's afraid of. He was raised as an infant by George, who betrayed his people for power and knowledge, and Maria, who taught him what it was like to feel love. For his mission, he closed off all those unnecessary feelings, but in the end, they have become his weakness. Giegue genuinely loved Maria who was nothing but caring and compassionate to him. Eight Melodies, the lullaby that she would sing to him, in the end became a reminder of the feelings that he closed off along with the ultimate weapon that would subdue the invaders for a time. Giegue would softly sing the lullaby to himself every now as he craves the lost days where he was happy with Maria.
Beyond carrying out the subjugation of humans according to the wishes of his people, Giegue craves escape. The fact that he had to repress memories of Maria and the emotions they carried shows how far Giegue had to go in order to prepare for his first invasion. Just before his second invasion, Giegue created the Devil's Machine that amplified his powers, but completely shattered his mind, leaving only pure hate and evil in a non-solid state. Each attempt at conquest demanded Giegue to repress more of his inner feelings to the point where he completely tore apart. He would often if not always choose conquest and fulfilling the expectations of his people over his memories of Maria. The strong, fulfilled wish to return to those days with her, though, resulted in his subsequent madness.
Abilities: PSI in the world of Mother was originally stolen from Giegue's race. Giegue, as its leader, has incredible psychic abilities that overshadows those of any humans in Mother. Most of his psychic attacks come inexplicably and are able to penetrate through most defenses. His inexplicable attacks often come in the form of strengthened PK attacks. One inexplicable attack sends a strong, psychic wave from Giegue with a slight chance of freezing anybody hit. Another sends two bolts of electricity and the last does not inflict any damage beyond forcing anybody hit to start crying uncontrollably, feel strange, become paralyzed, or fall unconscious.
Giegue is able to broadcast a strong psychic suggestion that brings inanimate objects to life under his command or manipulate people with strong, ill desires to follow him and most animals and insects to obey him.
He often telepathically communicates with people from wide distances rather than verbally and given enough time, he can read minds, but the heat of battle prevents him from taking advantage of this. For example, anybody who has come in contact with Giegue and lacks sufficient mental defenses can establish a link with him where the alien becomes aware of the other person's thoughts and emotions.
But even then, this is hardly used in battle and Giegue must work to tap into the link. The thoughts do not come organically to him.
Giegue himself is strongly resistant to damage and there aren't too many weapons on Earth that can successfully stand up to him. His weakness consists of memories of love and positive feelings, but even without those, against another sufficiently powerful entity, Giegue may have difficulties with resistance. However, as he is, he has enough power to weather through much damage and fatal wounds. Sample Entry:http://dear-mun.livejournal.com/44666164.html http://dear-mun.livejournal.com/45142563.html
