Character Name: BLU Scout Mama, aka Judy Ann McCann (nee Adams)
Character Series: Team Fortress 2
Character Age: 38
Background: Tiny bit here. Seeing as there is so little about her, here's some headcanon about the BLU Scout's mum.
Judy had a relatively normal life. She grew up in Boston with her parents, went to school, made friends, and fell in love. Unfortunately, said man that she fell in love with was a big douche. Sure, everything was sunshine and rainbows when they were dating, but things changed when she found out that she was pregnant and they got married to avoid the scandal. He basically just never stayed faithful to her; there was always a rumor floating around here and there about what he did with Mary at the malt shop, or the little show he put on with Jill at the park, or even with his secretary last Tuesday when he claimed that he had to work late. He was successful, yes, and he always made sure that she at least had just enough money to run the house and live comfortably, but whether he loved her or not is something she would never figure out. Maybe he just married her because he felt guilty, or maybe he wanted to keep his good name intact. Whatever his reason, she learned really quick that she could not count on him to be a good husband.
What he was though, was a good father. Judy seemed blessed (or cursed, depending on who's opinion you were using) with the uncanny luck of having twins and triplets. Her first pregnancy bore triplets, her second came with the twins just a year after, and two more children were adopted from her friend who passed on early in live; coincidentally, they were twins too. It's not surprising that at 18, when she had her final child Nathaniel, she decided eight was more than enough. And to the eight children, her husband was nothing but a great dad. He was always around for every occasion; always there to help them with their homework, teach them baseball, bandage up a cut knee...it was his great love and affection for his kids that convinced Judy to stay, even if she herself would never be entirely happy with her situation. He was a flop of a husband, but he was a fantastic father, and that was what her children needed more than anything else. And at least he was polite and treated her well. It was for from a perfect situation, but she learned to deal with it.
All this changed eight years after her marriage, when he was killed in a bad accident. He worked hard to provide for her and the family, there was some money saved up and left in a will, and her parents offered as much support as possible, but she suddenly found herself in the position of taking care of eight kids and being the sole breadwinner of the family. It wasn't easy being a single mom back then, but no one wanted to marry a woman with so many kids. It was either she drop some of them, or she keep all of them and go on without marriage. She chose the latter, and never looked back. Taking a job as a waitress in a restaurant, she worked long and hard hours to make enough to put food on the table and keep the rent payments up. However, this made it hard for her to raise her children properly, and as such while they grew up with a loving mother, they also grew up without a mother to guide them properly.
But if there was one thing she taught all the boys, it was that they were all family. She made sure they stuck through school, but the moment they finished with it, most of the boys quickly found jobs to help out their mother. Sons number three and five were the only ones who wanted to get a degree at college, so the rest of them immediately chipped in to ensure that those two could afford to go. It really made life easier for Judy with five sons working, and she found that she could take some time off from work to spend it with her children instead. So she didn't think anything was strange when Nathaniel came home one day, claiming he had a job that involved a lot of running and that would pay well. She didn't believe him at first until he sent the first paycheck home.
That's also when a mysterious man started showing up around the place she worked. He always wore a mask and that drew sniggers and weird looks from others, but he was polite, and he tipped well. She really didn't mind. And he was French...and he started talking to her. And she replied back. That was the start of her relationship with the RED Spy, and she can honestly say that she's fallen in love again. She's told Sons one to seven, and she had been writing a letter to Nathaniel to explain when she was pulled into Mayfield.

Personality:
One word to describe Judy: motherly. Say what you want about her, but she loves her children more than anything else in the world. She gave up her chance for college, a better marriage, and an easier life, for her eight sons. It didn't matter that two of them were adopted either; she cared for them all the same, and she made sure that if there was one thing she taught the boys it was to always look out for each other, no matter what.
She's also a very strong woman. Judy is tough, and she does not break easily. When she first found out about her husband's many extra-marital affairs, she had opted to not divorce him out of fear that this would affect her sons. But still, it's hard knowing that your husband is out seeing another woman while you're pregnant. Judy merely took it all in stride and bore with it; as far as she could see, he was a good father, and although he could not stay faithful to her, he did not just abandon her either. If life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, even if they're bitter lemons. When she became a single mother fighting to keep her children fed, she merely bore the burden and carried on. Never once did she opt for the easy way out. It is very hard to get Judy to the point where she will break down and cry; to her eight sons, she is the pinnacle of strength, simply because she has never let anything tear her down.
Courage is something she has in abundance as well. She has stared down gangsters threatening her sons, ignored the scandalized whispers from society, and she won't be afraid to speak out if she feels strongly about an issue, no matter who you are. Her parents sadly shake their head and call her blunt; she says she's just honest. Judy is very straightforward, and this, tied with her bravery, has often lead to her being very confrontational. The only time she showed restraint was with her husband, but yet again, this was only to ensure her sons would always have a loving father in the picture.
Lastly, Judy is unfortunately a bit blur and naive in regards to things that aren't ordinary. She adores the RED Spy, partly because he is French. She finds that charming, but is often lost when he makes references to his culture. She also misses the occasional worried glances her other seven sons give to each other in regard to Nathaniel's job; unlike her, they've been able to piece together enough to figure out that his job isn't as simple as picking up packages and dropping them. You need to show her the evidence right in her face before she understands. She learned the hard way about her husband's nightly flings with other girls when her own parents had to show her the pictures.

Abilities: She's a fantastic mom. Cooking, cleaning, sewing, washing, she can do it all! Other than that though, she's just a normal human.
