Personality: Butch is a very cocky person. He believe in himself, and believe in his ideas – even when they happen to be really stupid. He is confident with himself, and don't often regret what he does. Some would even call him full of himself, but he wouldn't agree. He live in today and not in the future. Because he believe that the Wild Bunch only has a present, and no future, he don't hesitate taking chances. He has lived a dangerous life for many years as a cowboy and bandit. He don't care what happens to him, if he get killed by a bullet or a few, if he get swallowed by a dragon (although that wasn't really on the list before he came to the Drifter world) or if he die of tobacco poisoning. He's quick to action, again, due to no walls up to stop him from acting without thinking. He's rushed, but he's also planned. Because at the same time as he can be a big idiot, he's also intelligent. Not concerning everything – far from – but he's still knowledgeable about a lot of different – often useless – things.
Butch is an impulsive man, always doing things without planning before acting. Because living on the edge make him feel the thrill of living. And now that he's not in America robbing trains anymore, he need something else to give him the thrill. The fights in the Drift world made him enjoy himself quite a lot. He is not afraid of much, and not really of dying. While he don't exactly want to die, he want to live a life with any regrets. His way of acting without thinking can also make him a bit rude or brash, but it's not really like he mean it all the time. Sometimes he does, sometimes he don't; in those cases, it just happens. Not that he very often regret what he says, though.
He is a pretty happy person at the same time, and he really enjoy meeting new interesting people. He can be pretty innocent at times, too. Especially when he's enjoying something he find really fun. He enjoy smoking, drinking and robbing trains. He wish he could smoke as much as he wanted until he drops, and he absolutely love guns. He can be simple-minded and pure-hearted, however much possible that is for one of the cowboys that once ruled the Wild West.
As stated above, Butch is a smoker, and states that he would kill for a smoke. If he really would (since Kid actually have two cigarettes that he refuse to give to Butch) is another question. If it was someone else that hid them from him, he might do just that. This shows that he also can be a bit unstable, but it's not a very big problem most of the times. Only at times where he really would need to focus, but he just can't because he's craving a smoke so badly.
Not much anything is a problem to him, even if – for example – the Sundance Kid wouldn't agree with him. He take everything as it comes, even running out of ammunition in a world where guns are yet to be invented. Then again, Nobunaga is working on producing those things, which he find really cool.
Now if only he could at least smoke to his hearts content...
Sample Entry: Why can't I find any smokes in this house. Don't people smoke here? I need a smoke, damnit! If I can't have a smoke soon, I'll go fuckin' crazy! Kid, did ya take 'em? I know ya have some, so just give me!
Moreover, where the hell is this? I liked that world with the dragons'n shit much better than this sunny thing. And Bolivia was much better too – y'know, even riding for days non-stop through the desert is better than what this looks like.
Aaaah, this's just plain weird again! Does weird things always have to happen? It's often interestin', but this is just plain borin'. C'mon, just bring me back to that weird action world, it was really interestin'! A lot of things happened there! ...this place, on the other hand, seem t' be really slow-paced... Come on, Corridor Guy! I don't like ya or anythin' but c'mon this is mean, I was gettin' used to that place!
