Character Name: Yoshika Miyako
Character Series: Touhou Shinreibyou (Touhou 13: Ten Desires)
Character Age: She appears as a young woman, though over 1000 years have passed for her while she was buried. I would consider her an adult by Mayfield's standards
Background: Her wiki page has an official profile, as well as a link back to the events of the game she appears in.

Personality: Yoshika is simple in a lot of ways. It's not entirely a matter of personality, but of her function as a guard of the graveyard and adjacent mausoleum. She was "born" -- or, rather, resurrected -- by Seiga in order to protect the resurrection of Toyasatomimi no Miko, but she does not understand the full extent of her role. Yoshika does not even fully understand what the big deal is about all the divine spirits gathering at the graveyard, or moving through it to the mausoleum. She even asks many of the protagonists exactly what spirits are; if they are tasty, or "easy to absorb". This is ironic, considering the fact that absorbing these spirits is exactly what gives her the ability to carry out her duty even when under attack. Kogasa is the one who complains about how hardy the jiang shi is, in that she enlists outside help in order to help beat Yoshika up.

Yoshika is also quite scatterbrained and forgetful. It's not her fault, really, but it is literally that her mind is rotted away. Yoshika often misinterprets phrases and the meanings of words if there are multiples. She thought "spirits" meant beverages, rather than the divine spirits gathering at the graveyard. When Youmu said she "reeked of the possibility" of being a zombie, Yoshika thought she was saying that she stinks! She will often forget people she only just recently met, though this happens mostly after a fight or after she has been freshly resurrected. No doubt she is not kept around for her brains, but her selling point as a "cute and rotten" underling for Seiga is her toughness.

The jiang shi has a bit of pride in her work, too. It is likely a combination of her obedience to Seiga and the ritual used to resurrect Yoshika, and her own will. She never gives intruders an easy time of getting through. Unfortunately, because of her stiff body and low mobility, she is nothing more than a speedbump for the protagonists as they progress through her stage, but she doesn't let it get her down. No matter how many times she arises to fight again, she goes about the situation with the same fervor as before. It is clear that Yoshika has some understanding of who is to be resurrected in the mausoleum, as Yoshika remarks that she will not let her (Miko) be trampled upon by the Myouren temple's inhabitants. ...but because of her rotten brain she forgets this detail roughly half the time in her encounters.

Yoshika can also be a bit melodramatic. When intruders approached her territory, she howled at them to go away, or be warned, or things like that. Despite not feeling pain, she also yowls and groans dramatically when she is defeated and sinks back into the ground. She also seems to have some sympathy for Youmu's half-ghost self, and the fact she's not immortal, too, commenting about how "dying's no good".

Also, she is somewhat proud of her complexion, as she looks rather good (if pale) for a corpse risen from the grave, which is also recognized by others. She's not particularly vain, but it seems to make her happy that others have noticed this.

Abilities: Like all bosses in Touhou Project games, Yoshika is able to use non-lethal elemental magic bullets (danmaku) for offense. She also has several special combinations of attacks usable as "spell cards" to overwhelm opponents with complex firing patterns of these bullets.

As a jiang shi (Chinese "hopping" vampire, bearing great resemblances to classic zombie), Yoshika possesses a few additional skills. While her body can "die" or be blown to pieces, she feels no pain. She is able to regenerate herself through the ingestion of spirits, supposedly consuming their energy to repair damage to her body. Yoshika can also be reactivated through the intervention of her master, Seiga Kaku (or, really, anyone who uses the same techniques to bind her to service with the appropriate rituals). Through her bite, she is also able to temporarily infect others, turning them into jiang shi allies.

Sample Entry:
Hey, lady. Get up.

[ The voice comes from somewhere above her, but Yoshika doesn't even stir. She's too comfortable where she is laying at the moment. ]

C'mon, dollface. We gotta get to work and you're in the way.

[ "Work"? She knows something about the concept of working, but doesn't see how she would be in the way. Yoshika is enjoying some rest, despite the cold feeling all around her. It brings back memories that have become vague with the time she has spent in Mayfield.

Finally, two strong pairs of hands are hooked under her arms and pull her up into warmer, brighter air. She gasps and her eyes shoot open. ]
Waah! Who's there? What's going on!?

[ The men — construction workers, dressed in denim, with their dirty white t-shirts, suspenders and hardhats — let go of her and take a step back. ] We said, you're in the way, doll. Why don't you run on home, now, before your man misses his dinner or something.

[ The jiang shi turns stiffly in place to regard the man who spoke up with a perplexed stare. ] I have a man? What does that mean? [ The small crowd of workers gathered around her laugh. ] Don't be like that. Just run along and let us get to what we need to do, okay?

Do? [ Yoshika looked down at her feet. She was currently standing in a deep, square hole in the ground, one dug in the middle of someone's yard. Around her were shovels, mounds of dirt and wheelbarrows full of gravel and heavy stone blocks. The spot had looked so empty and inviting, she mistook it for a place to rest! But the construction workers were obviously put out by her attempts at blocking off work on redoing the stone walkway in this house's yard. ] You were working?

Alright, alright, that's enough. Boys? Show her the way outta here, alright? [ And that's when she was picked up over and slung over a pair of square shoulders, though she just hung there like a ragdoll as she was carried off of the property. ] Wait, can't I sleep a little longer? That's much better than a bed! Doooon't maaaake meeee goooo baaaack too theee beeeeeeeeeedd!!!

++ For an additional sample of her voice, I have a Dear Mun post here. There won't be much internalization, ever, because her thought process is pretty... limited. ++
