event: memory corrupt

On the morning of Friday, June 1st, characters who are participating in this event will wake up with their memories of their entire life history altered. While they will still remember their time in Mayfield, they will believe themselves to be from an alternate universe than the canon they're from. Examples of AUs we will allow include but are not limited to:

alternate timeline; the overall world remains the same, but someone makes a different decision than the one in canon that sends the universe traveling down the other leg of the Trousers of Time. (For example, what if Harry Potter chose to be in Slytherin rather than Gryffindor?)

alternate setting; the fundamental rules of how the canon world works have changed. (Example: If Pokemon often killed humans or died instead of fainting.)

alternate history; your character is now from a different era in their world than the one in canon.

alternate future; essentially a fake/alternate canon-update. Please note that while your character may now have memories of being older than their current age, they will not physically age up as well.

Feel free to come up with AUs outside of the above as well. That said, we will not allow the following types of AUs:

non-canon crossovers; if the crossover doesn't exist in canon, it won't be allowed. (A Kingdom Hearts character believing themselves to be from the world of Aladdin is fine; a Kingdom Hearts character believing themselves to be from the world of Harry Potter is not.)

alternate species; your character must remain the same species as they are in canon.

We will also not allow the following:

alternate regains; all current regains your character may have in Mayfield will remain the same. A non magic-user in canon who is being taken from a universe where they're a sorcerer will still be unable to use magic in Mayfield. Characters will also not be able to use the Post Office to trade for regains from their alternate universe, unless it's a regain they would be able to normally acquire.

physical changes; no matter what AU your character is from, they will remain physically identical to their canon counterpart.

If you have any questions, please use the thread in this post. Feel free to also use this post to plot with your fellow players. This event will end on Tuesday, June 5th, upon which all characters will wake up with their canon memories intact.

So, Rapunzel will be a play on this AU; an alternate canon update of sorts. I have permission from the artist to play around with his ideas and art for roleplay, actually, so this worked well! XD

Problem is, I don't want to use that story exactly as-is; I want a bit of personalization/fine-tuning... But I'm kind of stuck on what exactly to do with it, so! Any help in that area would be majorly appreciated!

Hal: kicked back in time to an alternate history, so he'll be Silver Age Green Lantern.

Integra: The Nazis won WWII and Alucard was hidden away far sooner. When Integra was born, she was taken under the wing of Millennium. Eventually she found Alucard in her late teens, and made him sire her before she destroyed him.

Vader: Actually held back and stayed at the temple while Mace Windu dealt with the Emperor. Anakin Skywalker finally earns the rank of Master, though he steps down willingly from the Council as he recognizes it was just a machination on behalf of Palpatine and he's not yet ready for it. After the twins are born he makes the decision to own up to Obi-Wan, accepting that it will likely mean he has to leave the Order entirely.

Corran: When Corran is offered to join the dark side by Exar Kun, he's desperate enough to save his wife that he accepts. Insert Sith Corran who, in the name of Lawful Evil, wipes out Tavira's gang and who knows what else.

Merem: PROTAGONIST OF TSUKIHIME Joined by his partner, Ciel, and his waifu, Arcueid, they team up to kill Chaos and Roa like a bawse.

Plot with me. I just woke up so I have literally no ideas. Yet.

HEY GUYS.

So I was thinking of taking Nepeta from a Doomed Timeline ALA 'didn't go through the ventilation to her horrible end'... Or simply didn't die really.

Anyone care to plot with if I should stick to 'didn't go through the vents' or whatnot? I'm going to be horrible and play with what losing Equius in her 'timeline' would do. :U

Astral - Kay even though I asked about the other YGO canons my friend brought up this idea that is TOTALLY AWESOME and it is... Astral is ESPer ROBIN. 8U Which is a live-action show within Zexal and more or less resembles the typical shonen, power-rangery show hahah. Astral legitimately thought it was real for a bit in fact...

Course, there's no costume, but he just assumes it's not there hehehehe. (SHOW WITHIN A SHOW, aww yea. I figured with two potentially depressing ones I could use a semi-amusing one.)

And then we have...

Fi - Putting her through a 'bad end' AU! Be prepared for a Fi with emotions- I like to sum this AU up as 'Like Ghirahim except for good.' Basically the Hero is gone for whatever reason so Fi ends up taking matters in her own hands, yes good. EMOTIONS. 8U She'll be a lot less stony.

Okay so far......

Leia will be from this AU. Where Luke dies and Leia is trained as a Jedi.

Sooo I am kind of thinking of going with some sort of personality-changing AU, but the main, most-sense-making one I can think of would necessarily make Clover even more of a jerk and effectively a bully.

... So I'm not sure.

Crowley: I'm going to be borrowing the alternate timeline from The Sacred and the Profane (btw, don't read that fic unless you want to cry) where Aziraphale was the one to fall, not Crowley. He'll be an angel going by the name of Caphriel who is rather depressed. He does his best at his job (he's very good at it, really), but the world being the world only seems to be getting worse and worse and it's worn him down. I'm going to take him from somewhere mid-fic. He knows that the Antichrist is on Earth, but it hasn't quite gotten to the terrible events of the week of the apocalypse.

Ebony: No plans to affect him, but he'll be around with muffins.

Mokou: she never became immortal 1300 years ago, oops. So she'll be an overly entitled and rambunctious nobleman's daughter here. 8|;;

Kotomi: to a version of her world where the existence of magic was widely known and accepted, she was hailed as a genius witch of sorts, but secluded herself in her house when her parents had a fatal magic-related accident.

Mion: turning the clock back to the alternate canon arc Meakashi-hen, after her...unfortunate end.

Byakuren: her brother never perished, and he continued teaching her black magic. Her own power grew frighteningly dark, though she was never sealed in Makai for "treason" as she was a lot more honest and positive about her intentions. She thus never founded the temple in her brother's name.

Euphemia: bumping her over to Nightmare of Nunally, aka the manga side adaptation where she's badass and becomes Britannia's empress aw yeah.

Kyouko: her father still disapproved of her using magic to earn him followers, but he was merely disappointed and wished she would have done otherwise. He never snapped and murdered the rest of the family, and so she stayed a relatively optimistic and unscarred girl. She was able to get along much better with Sayaka, and with the aid of Madoka, was able to stop Sayaka from turning into a witch.

For now I'm leaving Rider out to check with her castmates, and Dead Master as well, because dfgkjshsgdfh I haven't even done her intro oops.

Harley: She's going to be an AU where she turns her life around and becomes a crime fighter. She does quite well for herself too. Eventually joining the Justice League.

April: She will have never have met her mentor years ago and he didn't influence her to become the person she is now, so her life sucked even more than it did before. So April will be having a big personality change. She'll be openly cold and blunt and not anything like the happy, cheery derp she usually is. She'll still like to help people out and such, but she's not gonna be friendly or nice about it.

Bazett will be her Hollow Ataraxia version. She'll be a lot nicer and more relaxed. However, she'll also have less control of her powers because she was weaker in HA than she was in Kaleid.

Gilgamesh will have one important thing in his original fiction canon changed. Namely, he will have accepted his job as the Judge of the Dead instead of balking and running away. This means he's stuck in his cold, ruthless, and rather angsty persona.

So does anyone want to plot anything with these characters?

AWW YEAH AUS

Okay, so for Ambrosia, she's going to think that she's a space pirate and the captain of The Bloody Barons. As such, she'll be commandeering the Gokai Galleon and subsequently renaming it for her use. Her father never died and has his own fleet and her mother also lived, thus making her daughter into a more refined lady. (But, she'll still be somewhat uncouth.)

Wataru will be taken from his Decade self, so he'll be bitty.

Diana will either be coming from a future Earth where it never died, humanity wised the hell up and she's in a more futuristic England that's set in 4130. She later becomes knighted by the Queen for her work and is now known as Sir Diana Ethelbert. c:

Saki, I am holding off on mainly because I haven't intro'd her yet. whoops.

Lion: Thankfully in Umineko we already know what happens to Lion in an alternate universe: if Natsuhi decides to raise the baby given to her by Kinzo, we get the Lion we all know and love. If Natsuhi rejects the baby by basically throwing him off a cliff, Lion becomes someone very different: a timid, frail, clumsy servant known only as "Yasu", who is bullied constantly by the other servants who work on Rokkenjima and ends up making numerous imaginary friends to cope with these shitty circumstances and will eventually become the witch called Beatrice. Also, due to being raised as a girl, Yasu will believe she is female.

Mamizou: Still not entirely sure about her, but I've been thinking of taking her from an alternate timeline where she was never asked to come to Gensokyo by Nue, and thus has never lived there, staying in her hometown of Sado.

So if anyone wants to plot, please let me know!

Raven left the Titans very early, believing she didn't fit in and that her background meant she shouldn't be around people. She lived in solitude till she turned 16, trying to find a way to stop her father. But she failed. And became his servant to usher him to this world.

Raven has less social skills then she had before. She hides under her cloaks hood at all times. She barely speaks to people at all and thinks getting close to anyone is dangerous. She's very lonely and sad, but her emotions are slowly being taken over by hatred like her father. The demonic traits she's always had, are starting to appear more.

Neville Longbottom was now the Boy Who Lived. Unlike Harry, he was actually raised in the wizarding world and was subject to all the pressures of being the Chosen One since he was a baby. His late magical blooming also didn't help matters, with the whispers that Voldemort had broken something. He's constantly on edge, convinced that he should be at home doing... something. He hopes he doesn't have to fix Mayfield himself but dreads that he might have to even though he doesn't know how to save everyone.

The Riddler will likely adopt the persona and established history of his Antimatter counterpart, Edward Nashton, otherwise known as Enigma and formerly known as the Quizmaster. Unlike New Earth, the world where Edward comes from in the DC Multiverse, pretty much everyone's moralities have been swapped in the Antimatter Universe. Instead of a Justice League protecting America, the world is ravaged by the Crime Syndicate of America. And as for the villains of New Earth? They've become the Antimatter Universe's heroes instead.

Ed Nashton, essentially, was a child who grew up with smarts, sharp wit, and a knack for puzzles. But as opposed to being narcissistic, he's altruistic. Having had enough of the Crime Syndicate's constant bullying and taunting, Edward became the Quizmaster and formed up an organization called the Justice Underground.

Also, he was married in this universe! For a time. Until Ultraman eventually found his home, burned it down, killed his wife and son, and left his daughter in critical condition. The only way Edward could save her was to transfer her consciousness into a circular Sub-Plasmic Heuro-Elective Retribution Engine (S.P.H.E.R.E). And you can bet he'll do anything to save her and bring the Universe back to its natural order.

TL;DR, while the Riddler is a former supervillain doing more good, Enigma is a former superhero slowly turning to evil.

Shadow the Hedgehog will be coming from a very dark and bad end from his 2006 timeline in which his enemy, Mephiles the Dark, was able to kill Princess Elise and ravage the world by unleashing the Flames of Disaster. The Guardian Units of Nations (otherwise known as GUN) would turn against Shadow, using him as a scapegoat to explain away the end of the world and pursuing him relentlessly. Shadow's only friend as a fugitive is his partner, Rouge the Bat, who continues to journey with him until eventually, she grows old and dies of old age. GUN was also able to reprogram Shadow's robotic friend, Omega, and sent him to capture Shadow alive. Eventually, Omega succeeds at his mission and Shadow is imprisoned, still a captive of GUN 200 years after the Flames of Disaster destroyed the world.

Johan: Anna forgave him when he woke up in the hospital and helped him kill the Doctors for Tenma. They ran away and Johan stayed with her with the Fortner's. They grew up there and were always close. Anna managed to convince Johan that it was safer if they stayed in the one place until they grew up. They didn't have very many friends growing up, being very creepy. Some of their friends died under mysterious circumstances that neither twin were involved in at all.

Anna is currently learning to be a lawyer. Johan is studying to be a psychiatrist. They are both rather evil.

Sion is going to be turned in to Dust of Osiris, which is the "what if" copy of her if she stayed with Atlas instead of running away and going to Japan, along with creating a Philosopher's Stone to cure vampireism along with some other things. Dust is one of the 27 Dead Apostle and is trying to protect humanity by killing it and storing the information, in order to avoid destruction that will happen due to well humanity doing what humanity does best.

Mana, I'm thinking about giving her a second personality like Shiki had. So instead of Shiki being the last person to have that trait and it not being passed down, it will be. Meaning Mana would have a male personality sectioned off.

Gakupo Kamui will become an evil arch rival bent on stumping the town with his mysterious plots, like how did that car get into that tree? Alternate account will be

Grell ...will be Grell. I'd turn her into a butler, but that wasn't an AU. It was just her acting.

Aya will have his past altered, so that his parents never died, and the tragedy that befell his family never occured. So he's a pretty normal guy without blood on his hands. (Gonna need more smiling icons...) I may change between accounts (the other:

kendonobara) for the sake of icons.

Joshua is from an AU future where the Legion won and are trying to invade Zion. So far they've been able to hold them off. But at a high cost. Daniel was recently gravely injured and many of the tribals have died or enslaved.

Joshua is trying to lead both tribes against Caesar's legion.

Recently they heard that they might get help from another tribe known as the Great Khans who fled Vegas before it was over run. However they are losing hope as every day passes.

Joshua is not doing as well as he had been. He has no care for his own well being. Throwing himself into a war, and starting to fall down the path he once did before.

WELP I hope you guys are up for serial killer Elmer Albatross and smug villain thief Calleo Crowe, as they're the two I'm throwing into this event. The rest of my guys (Quinn, Aurora, Scout, Theo, Barton) will stay the same, though I am still considering putting Barton into this mess.

Basically, Elmer will be out to make people suffer instead of smile. Welcome to Mayfield the Scream Junkie.

Crowe will have decided to follow exactly in his family's footsteps and join the thief team. They work in close contact with the world's most infamous supervillain, the Shadow Emperor, so that meek and polite Crowe you once new is gone.

Got plans for all of them, just need some ideas on how to implement them.

Ako will think she comes from a genderswap Precure universe, where all the Precure are Magical Boys. No physical changes, but she's under the assumption that Mayfield had changed her body into a young girl instead of being, well a boy.

Hayate is suffering from some trauma from an AU past that got her frozen for a thousand years by Durandal's ice powers. When she finds drone-Vita, she'll lash out, the trauma coming back and she'll start hurling magic indiscriminately without any control, creating huge craters. She might need to be calmed down.

Date comes from an AU where the Greeed healed him of his bullet problem, and he's been a traitor. He's not a very happy go lucky guy anymore though and is willing to use his Cell Medals to make more Greeed. Combat is a must for this guy too.

Rin is from a actor world, where she's been playing the part of Rina Natsume, a Precure Actress. She's been updated to YPC5 GoGo for this purpose if not actually, and will be all omg why do I have powers?

SO! I am officially off hiatus, and I am going to offer Miko here up for shenanigans. What kind of Shenanigans?

Well, technically, Miko is a kind of AU of this guy right here. So this is sort of an awkward reverse-AU.

So what's that mean? It means I'm gonna turn her back into that guy. She will not be a Taoist. Her bringing Buddhism to Japan will not just be a ruse for her to gain immortality and then rule Japan. In fact, she'll be goddamned devoted to the Buddha and can give you all sorts of interesting information on the sutras.

She'll wonder where her actual wife is. :|

Oh, and though she won't actually, physically be male, she'll think she's supposed to be.
