Shana will be taken to the factory and operated on the morning of January 27th. Mrs. Johnson will drug her. The effects of being drugged will mean that for 12 hours after the surgery, she will feel groggy, nauseous, and find it difficult to think clearly.
Shana's surgery will involve the removal of her skin, whereupon it will be replaced with a transparent membrane. This membrane functions exactly the same as ordinary human skin, save for the fact that is completely see-through, with every muscle, vein and organ visible from outside the body. Shana will not experience any physical pain as a result.
Following her surgery, Shana will be wheeled to the recovery room, where she will be able to interact with her fellow patients. She will be returned to Mayfield outside the hospital the morning of January 28th.
