event: new and improved

Sign ups for the event are now closed, and the first day of surgeries will take place tomorrow morning, January 27th, in a new location that seems to exist outside of Mayfield.

OOCly how this will work is that a new group of about twenty characters will be selected every night. We'll reply to your sign-up comments letting you know what will happen to your character. Your character will go through their surgery, and then will be brought to the factory recovery room along with the other patients there that day.

Characters will be able to interact with each other if they're feeling well enough. After a day of "observation" in the factory, they will be dumped on the ground outside the hospital in Mayfield, welcome to go home if they're well enough to get there themselves.

Any character abducted tonight will be able to interact in the day 1 factory post, and will be back in Mayfield the morning of January 28.

All questions about this stage of the event belong in this post. Information about any characters who have died will come in a few days. The event, overall, will probably last until next weekend so everyone will have a chance to have a character operated on.

Will characters awake during their surgery be able to interact with the doctors?

Can patients move around the rooms? I'm assuming they can because there are different rooms laid out, but just making sure.

Once they have been moved to recovery, if they're capable of walking they can get up an explore.

Just to make sure: are mental effects immediate or will it take time for them to kick in?

And how much (or little) info is written on the medical charts?

Nia was given a blood transfusion that causes her to heal immediately from wounds.

My question: after the surgery, would she be in pain? Or has that healing taken place by the time she's put into the recovery room?

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-01-28 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
The healing would probably have taken place.

So apparently the factory has turned up on the edge of town and administers painful electric shocks to anyone who tries to cross the fence, from either the inside or outside... Right?

Which would mean it would be plausible for Kyon to attempt (and obviously fail) to break in and simply get the hell shocked out of him, correct?

Exactly how lethal are the electric shocks? Are they merely just painful and repelling? Will you die if you expose yourself too long or too many times?

Late question! But similar to what's asked above me: If a character has lightning-manipulating powers, I presume these (a: will still work after the surgeries/inside the hospital, and) will have no effect on the electric fence around the hospital such as shorting it out?

And additional question: there's no sharp items in the hospital but are there any pole or staff-like objects in the hospital that a character could find and wield? Stands for IV bags or mops/brooms?

Thanks!
