• Please read over all the rules and information before applying in order to minimize any confusion before joining.
• If applying for a character that has already been dropped, it would be a good idea, though not required, to know something of their previous interactions. You are also free to pick up a dropped character with no memories of their previous time in Mayfield.
• All content for the personality and sample entry in your app must be written or roleplayed by you; for the personality section in particular, we do not accept copied text from wikis or other sources. Obviously, you may not copy your app from other players, whether in Mayfield or other games. Application plagiarism will result in a ban from the game.
• If you wish for your character to be placed in a specific house, please mention this in the relevant section of the application and specify that permission was obtained by the PCs already residing in that house. We will be operating by the Honor System for this, and there is no need for others to comment their permission in this post!
• Other special requests would also best go in the beginning of the application. Remember, grammar and spelling are important -- if your app contains errors, you will be asked to revise.
• Please post all applications or canon updates in this post; posting them elsewhere and linking to them from here may cause them to get changed later. Posting them here keeps us from having to save them.
When Applying, Fill Out the Following:
When Applying for an Original Character, Fill Out the Following
• Before applying, please look over any applications that were recently accepted to get an idea of what we're looking for.
• If you apply for a character that has already been reserved, we will inform you and ignore the application until the reserve runs out. You may not apply for more than two characters from the same canon. For the sample entry, you may write your own entry, or use a post from a musebox, dressing room, or other game. We recommend testrun_box if you prefer the latter!
• After you're accepted, please follow all of the instructions given. You will need to reply to the acceptance, post your journal to the friend add page and your canon post, join the communities, and use the friend add page to update your journal. Once you're accepted, please introduce yourself on the community when you're ready to play.
• If your app is "Pending", do not freak out! This means that we need you to make some revisions, and does not mean you're rejected. We generally give players a chance to revise before rejecting them, but we will reject apps that do not address the concerns stated when we asked for a revision. If you have been rejected, our reply will clearly state this to be the case. If we have not gotten back to you yet, under no circumstance does this mean you are rejected. If it has been over a week since our last reply, it would be a good idea to contact us with a reminder, otherwise, please be patient!
• If you have received a "Pending" notice, you will have one week to supply us with your revisions, or your reserve will be considered expired and that someone else is free to apply for the character.
• The typical wait for a reply on apps may be anywhere from a day to a little over a week. If any part of your application requires a pending, it may be another week after your reply to that before we can get to you. We process a high volume of apps every round, so please be patient.
• If you have not heard back on a pending for over a week after apps close, please send a PM directly to the mod account.

Character Name: Yuki Nagato Character Series: Haruhi Suzumiya Character Age: Around 3 Chronologically. 15-16 Physically. Background:Enter Wiki
Personality: Yuki is not a human being. She does not operate, think, feel or act like any other person on earth. In actuality, Yuki is what, for convenience’s sake, could be considered an alien. She is a humanoid interface developed by the Data Integration Thought Entity in order to communicate and interact with organic life forms, chief among them Haruhi Suzumiya, the potential for evolution. Therefore, she was created with the primary function to observe Haruhi and her effects on the earth, other organic life forms, and society as whole. As an observer, she was designed with extremely restrained social abilities, something that will always afflict her. Unlike the outgoing interface Ryoko Asakura, who was from a separate faction of the Data Integration Thought Entity that sought more exorbitant measures in studying Haruhi and thusly was more socially able, Yuki is completely alien and withdrawn.
A monotone voice, a nearly constant expressionless pokerface, and bi-minutely blinking all highlight just how detached she is from any semblance of emotion. If she’s feeling anything at all, it’s most likely going to be all but impossible to discern. Kyon often states when he thinks he can tell she’s feeling something, however Yuki has never outright clarified this for him. When she does make a decision that could be considered something out of emotions, she considers it as “an accumulation of erroneous files,” demonstrating her own denial that she might be beginning to foster some humanity. In moments where she’s forced into conversation with an organic lifeform, Yuki prefers to respond through kinesis alone in most cases, or perhaps a simple yes or no, maybe an “I see.” Though in certain circumstances, she may respond with a long exposition of overloaded scientific and logical concepts that display her comprehensive knowledge of all sciences and the innerworkings of data. Unless a matter concerns Haruhi or the Data Integration Thought Entity, a solid opinion from her will be something quite rare.
While Yuki does have a rather extensive knowledge of human society and the mechanisms of their lives, because she has such little emotional output she cannot see life in the same manner that normal humans do. This is because she only has the logical side of issues, and has trouble empathizing for the emotional point of view outside a few incidents wherein she finds herself trying to reassure Kyon about his safety. She is overly logical when excising problems, never taking herself into account when making decisions. This attribute is so extreme that she often takes unnecessary measures in performing her functions even if it negatively effects her, most prominently shown when she lives out several hundred years in the form of the same two weeks over and over again without making any effort to rectify the situation. When Kyon inquires about this, she simply states, “My function is to observe.” Anything that impacts her is dealt with an unbiased apathy for herself, though certain “erroneous files” may imply otherwise.
Though a complete outlier when it comes to integrating herself into human society, she isn’t out with a bit of interest in certain recreational activities, however rare such interest might be. Headlining the thin list of interests is books and literature. Yuki is almost never without a book in her lap, intaking all sorts of data and information. One of the things she notes to Kyon that she likes about the book she’s reading is that it’s “unique,” which is telling in that not every type of book might be particularly interesting to her. After some time with one of the computers from the computer club, Yuki becomes rather enamored with programming (and inhumanly talented at it) which pushes herself to decide she might like to take part in certain computer club activities for her own enjoyment. This isn’t to say she’ll outright refuse any other activities, but she won’t feel particularly inclined to take part unless necessary or prompted by Haruhi herself. Yuki does attempt to conform to proper human conduct, sometimes to a fault. When Kyon lied that her bland tea was delicious, she continued to pour it for him as a way of showing human courtesy.
In most cases, Yuki is an accessory. Whether it’s pushing along the goals of the Data Integration Thought Entity, resolving dangerous time paradoxes, or simply playing baseball to keep Haruhi happy.
Abilities: Because Yuki is not a human, she is not bound by the physical constraints of the human body. What this means is that she has vastly superior speed, strength, stamina and mental processing to any regular human being. She doesn’t even blink an eye when she’s impaled multiple times! Just about anything that causes a problem for the human mind or body, whether it be conventional illness, intoxication, or UV rays. She even has a photographic memory to boot.
However, what makes of the majority of Yuki’s abilities is her ability to influence and manipulate data. What this means is that she can often interact freely with the world around her, and even manipulate probability itself. This method is often complimented with a speedy incantation in a computer language. She can deconstruct matter, change its elemental properties, or interfere with how it relates to the physics of the world around her. Additionally, she can manipulate the properties of her own body as well, and can going into a state of repair wherein any wounds are quickly healed though not in tandem with any other abilities. She can administer this process to others, though to a much, much lesser degree.
The ridiculous lengths of her manipulation doesn’t stop there though, she can even influence the data around her so greatly that she can create a false string of events, such as when she creates a mystery for Haruhi to solve in the form of someone’s missing boyfriend. This is even extended to being able to directly remove or manipulate people’s memories. Her powers can change the weather and produce barriers around people or a place that makes those inside effectively undetectable by anything outside the barrier. Yuki can teleport as well, allowing her to quickly chance positions and intercept danger.
Yuki has shown some qualities that would be considered that of a technopath. She can commune with most technology telepathically and can interfere and edit certain devices through touch alone, being able to alter programming in her own unique fashion.
In terms of offensive capability, Yuki holds a power that could be considered similar to that of the esper, Itsuki Koizumi. While what exactly this power is has been hidden as Yuki restrained herself from using it, it is implied to be a magical blast of energy similar to Itsuki’s attacks.
In dire times, Yuki can go into a sort of critical mode which allows her to use drastically more powerful abilities outside of a data jurisdiction space. In the instance of going into this mode she was capable of freezing Kyon and Mikuru in time for three years.
More miscellaneously, Yuki has small nanomachines that she can inject through bites to the skin. These nanomachines can alter certain processes inside the body, which can be used stop, various functions, supernatural or otherwise, from completing.
