So... canon update!

Not all that long ago, I played the video game "Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsuisou", or "The Recollection of Haruhi Suzumiya", a game I would honestly tell you all to play if not for the fact that it was only released in Japanese. (Well, I guess if you can't speak Japanese, there's a neat pong-like minigame that involves stripping the girls of the SOS Brigade down to their swimsuits? ... Yeah, Japan is weird.)

Anyway, Kyon has basically woken on the morning of the 23rd of December only to find that it was now November again, specifically the day of the Culture Festival, and in addition the SOS Brigade didn't exist because Haruhi went to Koyouen academy. (Didn't he just get back from this place a few days ago? Yare yare.) Anyway, Mikuru Asahina (big) is available on hand to assist him once again by installing a time travel app on his phone (There's an app for everything, isn't there?) so that he may move somewhat freely within the 48 hour period that exists within this pocket universe created by temporal anomaly. And so, he's spent the past few weeks redoing the same two days over and over, slowly smoothing over the temporal anomaly to bring himself back home.

This canon update won't be applied ICly until after the event is over, but yeah. Happening soon in a Mayfield near you!
