Zombiefield Part II: Player Plot Planning Post
Mark your calendars, ladies and gentlemen, because the weekend of June 9th-11th is going to explode with everyone's favorite overused cliche horror film fare, zombies.
Like last year's Zombiefield, this one will start off due to a regain. Whose regain? Our very neighborly neighbor, Darth Vader.
Vader will be regaining a case of canisters from the Blackwing Project, containing something special. The Blackwing Project was a research project engineered at Darth Vader's behest shortly prior to the events of A New Hope. The end goal for the Empire was to create a bioweapon that could be used to pacify populations (read: slaughter them like cattle) and mobilize the infected like an army. I guess there's just some things clones won't do, like, uh, eat the enemy.
If you've read the Star Wars EU novel Death Troopers, you'd know that they kinda succeeded. Kinda.
The virus is stored in easily fuck-up-able canisters, and is itself airborne, attacking the respiratory system and then the major organs one after the next. Victims typically show infection with a raging fever and severe vomiting. Death occurs anywhere from within thirty minutes to a few hours.
Of course, this wouldn't be a zombie plot without the zombies. The virus reanimates the dead and they go on their merry way, with some extras.
See, the Empire wanted to be able to sway these things to do its bidding, and while we're never truly shown how they intended to accomplish that, what we do see is that they made smart zombies, holy Christ.
The zombies first and foremost are driven by raging hunger and the virus' urge to continue to spread and thrive. Pretty bog standard, but what makes them stand out is their sheer cunning. Though they can't speak, they retain some memories of their previous life, allowing them to mimic the living to lay traps, use complex weapons and machinery. Drive a car? Yep. Fly a plane? Oh hell yes. The zombies can also communicate with one another over a long distance via screaming shrilly in tandem, and will mass together sort of like a human centipede when they're not out and about killing everything in sight.
Vader will essentially Patient Zero for this event and will be falling ill on Friday night, but since this thing spreads super fast don't worry about having your character coming into contact with him. He'll be accidentally spreading it pretty far and fast. C:
BUT THERE IS HOPE!
See, in canon there are people with a natural immunity to the virus. It's from them that a vaccine is synthesized and successfully used* to treat others.
*Other humans, that is. The vaccine itself didn't do so hot when it was administered to a Wookie. They developed boils on the throat that had to be lanced and drained in order to keep them infection-free. If you play a non-human character, it's up to you which way you'd like to go if a vaccine is made. C: The options are yours for the taking.
Any of the science-y types in town are more than welcome to make a vaccine. Why the hell not, right?
One thing to keep in mind is that those who are immune to the airborne virus might still get infected if they happen to be bitten. It can be a bit of a crapshoot.
ETA: Also I had to reference this for a great question, so have some more info for those who get bitten:
The infection from a bite will appear on the skin as a greying mass racing for the lungs/central nervous system. What this means is you can stop it. In DT a doctor is able to stop it from spreading in a bite victim by making an incision and lancing/draining the pocket of tissue that the virus is making to travel through the body. It's quick, messy and painful for the victim, but it does the job.
Since the virus does slow decay in its host, waiting for them to fall apart isn't the greatest idea. Taking out the head...doesn't work all that great either, as the virus can still manipulate nerve endings without the brain's assistance. Total destruction of the corpse is the way to go. \o/
Because the virus in canon does die out once it gets too far from its production site, the same thing will happen in Mayfield (unless a vaccine beats it to the punch). By Monday evening the virus will burn itself out and we can all go back to normal.
Whew. Plot here and feel free to ask me questions! I can't wait. >:U
ALSO! I've added some more info above wrt bite victims. Check it.

I MEAN
Holy Sacraments and other things of some religious connotation that would turn zombies to dust from a canon of Our Vampires/Undead/Demons Are Different. Would those be effective, or destruction of the body by magical/physical means is the only way?

Hal is going to get zombified, as it's Tradition now apparently.
Integra will be immune to the virus and will be taking part in containment. Corpse bonfire yay!

Handmaid I'm not sure what to do with yet. I might go half and half and have her fight zombies for a while and be zombified for a while, too.
JIANG SHI IN THE HOUUUUUUSE
Unfortunately, by "smart", that is something Yoshika isn't really capable of. She'll just be hopping around, trying to bite people, and probably disappointed that she can't heal herself (unless I get her a regain before then, that is).
On the other side of the spectrum, after the fiasco of last year, Meiling will be busy rounding up people she wants to protect and all-but locking them up in a house with her as she does her best to stand guard. Only she's not going to risk infection by physical contact this time. She has ALL THIS DANMAKU waiting for anyone who tries to get too close. Hope zombies like grazing! o7

If Cade regained the following spells, would they be effective on the zombies?
- - Bless Water: Cade can transmute one gallon of water he is touching into holy water. This completely purifies the water (removes any bacteria, poison, salt, etc.) and causes it to burn the flesh of undead, demons, devils, etc. Cade can cast this spell three times per day.
- - Bless Weapon: Cade can bless one weapon he is touching. The weapon and any ammunition it fires glow with the brightness of a candle. Blessed weapons used on undead, demons, devils, etc. inflict injuries that are twice as grievous as they would be against a human opponent, ignore any supernatural defenses these creatures may have, and halt any regeneration or fast-healing these creatures have for 1 hour. The spell lasts for 6 hours.
Cade can cast this spell twice per day.

plotting for Lust/Tsunade
As for Tsunade, she'll be ...working her ass off. She's a master medic, so, she can most likely heal and extract people. Now, this is more or less directed to the OP but she's been shown to be a master at making healing remedies too. Her protoge made three doses of something against a highly awful toxin (like full paralysis) despite only being under her tutelage for 2 1/2 years, Tsunade, who has made highly powerful drugs and has countered a variety of poisons, can definitely make a vaccine but... I'm not sure if the people who are immune to the disease are limited to your canon only (in which case she wouldn't be able to make a vaccine without meeting a member from the star wars canon) or if random people are immune to the vaccination as long as they're human?
also, what happens to abilities once infected?

Utsuho is an option if anyone needs SUDDEN FIREBOMBING AIRSTRIKES. She's not too good about the "friendly fire" thing but she is good at incinerating stuff. She can also fly and be anywhere you need her to be. I'm fairly sure she'll be immune as well, since her regeneration rate is probably faster than the virus can replicate itself and cause mischief.
...though the zombies are probably smarter than she is so you might need to point her in the right direction first.
Otherwise she'll be setting zombies on fire with Balin in some family bonding thing.
Flandre will probably have negative participation since Meiling's practically sitting on her to keep her in the house during the event.

Ms. Paint will be running around and providing support. Medical assistance, letting people stay at her house, keeping people fed. All that good stuff.
Scooby will be immune and spend a while hiding out with his tail between his legs then decide YOLO and go steal a car to run down some zombies. Seriously, if he can drive a forklift in canon he can drive a car in Mayfield.

Or, I could go the route where she just messes up and gets zombified herself.

He's a tough son of a bitch, so if the situation arises where I have him getting bitten (I'm not going to have him infected by the virus in the air), he'll last a while. If anyone's character is skilled at surgery or healing, feel more than free to help a lad out!

Anywho, Eggman is gonna help with the fighting off the Zombies - he has a small army of robotic mooks who'll help fight them off. As well, he's a genius, so he could probably help with weapons/hiding spots/etc.
No clue on Nozomi, though.

Until he gets bitten, that is. From that point on, Shadow will succumb to the virus and terrorize Mayfield as the Ultimate Undead-form instead. He has plenty of powers at his disposal (teleportations, Chaos Blasts, and the like), but will likely be tuckered out from exhausting his energy before being bitten in the first place.
And you can bet that once Shadow realizes that his housemate is the one who set everything off in the first place, you can be damn well sure he'll take his revenge.

Crowley will rescue Lyn (again) and as a result, get bitten (on the wing no less). He's more than willing to have his wing removed to avoid becoming a zombie again.
Ebony has recently regained his basic level powers. With that, he can electrocute zombies when he's not running.
