OKAY LAST MOD ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DAY I SWEAR

Two things! First of all, the Librarian has left the building.

Secondly, the new player plot post is up! Please use this post if you'd like to request a plot with mod involvement and NPC interaction. As a reminder, we will no longer be accepting player plots that are not related to Mayfield's overall story arc.

Except this year, Miku will be holding auditions on her birthday for her band! See, with a lot of her bandmates droned, she's decided to essentially start the band all over again.

Here's the deal: she needs a guitarist, a bassist, a drummer, and someone on keyboard, and will be taking people on a first come first served basis. Show up at her house first for those positions and show off your skills well, and she'll hire you. She'll be putting up posters at some point before her birthday to alert everyone soon.

What's the purpose of this post? Well, it's basically a plotting post for anyone who wants to get in the band. And to name it, because I have suffered a brainfart and have no idea how to name it.

So, tl;dr: MEMBERS AND NAMES FOR A BAND, PLEASE.

Hey everyone! So it's almost end of the summer in Mayfield, and before the days get too cold, Applejack is going to get friends to help her set up an obstacle course in the park. Why? Because it's Sisterhooves Social time!

What is the Sisterhooves Social? Essentially it's a county fair type of deal with food booths and events sponsored by Applejack's farm, Sweet Apple Acres. The big draw is the obstacle course where teams of two, sisters, try to out best others. It's about having fun with your family and Applejack is thinking it'd be a great little piece of home to bring to Mayfield.

Anyway, the point is, Applejack is not only going to ask friends and folks to help set this up, but also advertise and open it up to ALL girls and woman who want to spend some time with their 'family.' Mayfield gave you a fake sister and you two get along? Try earning a trophy at the Sisterhooves Social! You and you're actual sister are stuck here in Mayfield? Well, try to forget your cares with a little competitive obstacle race! You want to try and win that trophy anyway? Well just grab someone and force them to be your sister!

Essentially, second weekend of August, the 11th or 12th, I'll put up a logs post that is open to all to mill about with various events and obstacles for others to try and compete in. If you have any questions feel free to ask here or even try some plotting!

So after his and Prowl's recent foray into the fun-house went so horribly, horribly wrong, Jazz is going to feel the need to up the "get the Fuck out of Mayfield" thing to over 9000. Seriously. How have you guys kept from going insane all this time???

Which means he's going to start trying to incite revolution, V style. He figures if they all gang up together and concentrate their efforts, they should be able to show the Mayfield overlords what for! And all the sneaking around is fine, but that gives Mayfield a chance to batten down the hatches and prepare. Sometimes you gotta just rise up en masse and watch the world burn.

He'll be doing things like making "anonymous" phone calls with imitated accents making grand speeches about freedom, posting posters around town when no one's looking, trying to pull big flashy pranks on the Mayfield overlords, etc. If it's in the style of viva la revolucion, he's gonna pull it.

Unfortunately, he still doesn't quite realize what he's up against, so I'm sure it's not going to take long before he pulls something that gets him caught and completely slagged for it, but. He's gonna try. And every time they punish him for it, it's just gonna make his righteous, indignant stubbornness come back even stronger then it was before, and once everyone knows it's him and there's no reason for him to try and hide it was himself doing it, he'll probably start making his speeches in-between episodes of being droned while he's being burned at the stake...Geez. He's probably gonna start looking a little insane, but he's been doing this for millions of years already against the Decepticons. This is just another day on the job for him. :/

So, basically, 86 is looking into starting up the Kids Next Door again, and clearly the best way to do this without any nefarious adult interference is to disguise recruitment as a house party. It will be advertised via posters and word of mouth in the elementary and high schools-- yes, you heard that right, anyone from age 0 to 17 is now able to join the KND. Pets can also come along, but any adult infiltrators (at least, those who clearly look like adults) will probably end up with a faceful of mustard for their trouble. The date will be sometime after the current plot ends, idk. Eventually.

Your mission for this party, should you choose to accept it, is to completely ruin it. Frances will have this thing planned down with military precision. I want something on fire and at least three hospitalizations by the end. Make me proud.

So, it occurred to me that we need a bit more spooky shenanigans to prepare in case zombies take over this month (hopefully so). What better way than to pull from typical Americana horror films and drop a bunch of teens + supervisors up in the secluded mountains (near Makeout Point)?

The idea that I'm suggesting is some posts be directed towards those involved with the high school, their "child"'s life or just got dragged into the situation! A CAMP OUT in the woods near MAKEOUT POINT. While I'm not necessarily wanting this to be an event, but I think it would be a nice way to get characters talking with one another and tagging outside of the usual, since they will be forced to share tents or generally be in the same group!

Over the course of the night(s) that the camp out occurs, we can really add some horror elements that may or may not foreshadow any events coming up! Or maybe it's just those rumors about the haunted woods? Urban legends? You be the judge!

But, in the haunted woods/campground you can probably include campfire songs, ghost story telling, sloppy makeouts, explorations into the woods for those brave enough to, and general domestic things like setting up tents and blahblah.

Don't skinnydip in that lake or walk alone in the woods, there could be anything out there!

But, I figured I would just bring this up before bed as a way to bring people together and add some continuity to any events upcoming.

There already are a few people interested in this so I figured I would bring it to the OOC comm! And now off to bed, whoosh.

Okay, so

During the Event, Dizzy will become the version of herself as seen in the Guilty Gear drama CD, Side Black. In this, Ky dies at the decisive Battle of Rome during the war, leading to the war lasting far longer and Justice still waging her crusade against humanity, allowing Dizzy to be aware of herself as Justice's daughter. When Justice and Johnny are killed, Dizzy goes bugfuck insane and takes up Justice's genocidal campaign against humanity. A girl with the power to turn entire nations into glass parking lots now wants all of you humans dead. This is bad.

In canon, Sol was the one to finally bring her down. In Mayfield, that can't actually happen as Sol has no regains. So that's where you come in!

Who amongst her CR wants to get into fights with her and who wants to stop her from razing the entire town in nuclear hellfire (ha ha, fitting end, though)? Characters wanting to take her down in the end have to be capable of it, too, given we're dealing with a living WMD.

Hi everybody!

Lots of folks doing alignment shifts for this upcoming Event: Corrupt Memory, so I figured hey, how about the new AU baddies make an AU Legion of Doom to replace the current in-game one for a few days? Would anyone be interested in this? It'd basically be a 'the heroes are f'ing this all up, time to take this stupid town over' kind of deal with a ridiculous log, not unlike how the usual LoD runs.

This post is basically for checking interest and then plotting a little if so.

Riddler-dude might be doing an AU stinky smelly hero team, too, so check out the sub-threads for that. o/

Mark your calendars, ladies and gentlemen, because the weekend of June 9th-11th is going to explode with everyone's favorite overused cliche horror film fare, zombies.

Like last year's Zombiefield, this one will start off due to a regain. Whose regain? Our very neighborly neighbor, Darth Vader.

Vader will be regaining a case of canisters from the Blackwing Project, containing something special. The Blackwing Project was a research project engineered at Darth Vader's behest shortly prior to the events of A New Hope. The end goal for the Empire was to create a bioweapon that could be used to pacify populations (read: slaughter them like cattle) and mobilize the infected like an army. I guess there's just some things clones won't do, like, uh, eat the enemy.

If you've read the Star Wars EU novel Death Troopers, you'd know that they kinda succeeded. Kinda.

Because the virus in canon does die out once it gets too far from its production site, the same thing will happen in Mayfield (unless a vaccine beats it to the punch). By Monday evening the virus will burn itself out and we can all go back to normal.

Prom is only a few days away, and it's tradition to have a king and queen. Will another inanimate object clinch this year's title?

Here's how we're going to do this!
★ Below are two threads, one for king, one for queen. Feel free to put nominees in those categories. Who cares if that character doesn't want to be nominated, isn't that gender, or is nominating themselves. Go nuts.
★ Each character gets three votes to spend in each category. 3 for king, 3 for queen. You can spend them as you like - all three on one nominee, or spread them around. Any more than three spent, and the votes will be disqualified!
★ To vote, put the number you want to vote in the subject line of your comment. +1, +2, +3.
★ Voting will be open until Friday before the prom thread goes up, which will be sometime that evening (EST). The winners will be announced at the prom, and will get crowned and have their own special dance in the spotlight!

edit: Quinn's already made a promise to Carrie White that she will NOT win prom queen. HE'S SEEN THIS MOVIE, PEOPLE. HE DOESN'T WANT A REPEAT OF IT IN MAYFIELD. XD

This entry is tagged as a player plot but it's more of a request meme. In an effort to force Naota here into more humiliating social situations, I've signed him up as a Mayfield messenger boy. His job is to deliver messages or items from one resident to another while scowling and wearing a stupid hat. Got an embarrassing telegram you want recited to the receiving party by a grumpy pubescent boy? As a side note, it's possible that Naota may deliver lame messages from drones to your character as well.

Mayfield, are you ready for the prom? OF COURSE YOU ARE.

Quinn organized this last year, and is ready to do it again, that party-loving son of a gun. He also feels that people in Mayfield deserve a drone-less prom, so it's time to trick them all into thinking prom is on a different night while the rest of us party it up.

POINTS OF INTEREST:
- It will be open to EVERYONE in town, not just school students.
- It'll be hosted at the rec center, Quinn DJing with all his lovely tunes up to the year 2010. You name it, he's probably got it.
- Food, drinks, spiked punch errywhere
- Dancing of all kinds, formal attire a MUST! It's prom after all.
- Since last year's post got to almost 5000 comments, I think this time I'll split it into 2 logs somehow.
- We had votes for Homecoming King & Queen... Do we want to do the same for Prom?
- GIVE ME IDEAS. Any sort of action you want to see happen? Want to prank the prom-goers?

Unless it interferes with a mod plot, I'd like to post this either May 4th or 18th. The 11th is out because I am the head of an anime convention LARP taking place that weekend, and will spend the week leading up to it crying and pulling my hair out.

Description is below but new people are more than welcome to check in here and we can work on getting your character signed up too.

( How to into the Church )

So this post is for a few things!

1. Right now, there's four characters involved (Merem, Ciel, Shikieiki, and Arcueid) with a couple other characters expressing interest but I don't know if they got back to Merem or not. If you're one of those players, tell me here if they're still interested.

2. If you have a character who would want to take part, we can work something out here too.

3. If your character/group is doing something that might attract attention (both good and bad) and you want attention, pop in here and we can plot.

4. Lastly, questions are entirely welcome so post those there too.

Anyone who's met this girl before probably knows that she likes sewing. And making dolls...but not regular dolls, mind you! Living, flying, hit 'em too hard and they EXPLODE dolls! And you know what? She wants to make these kinds of dolls based on your characters! Next week, she'll start making open phone calls and leaving flyers around town describing what she wants to do, so everyone is welcome!

So here's the rundown: Kreutzer's dolls are capable of independent thought and personality. For the ones she makes of other characters, she will mirror their personalities to the best of her abilities, but that's not all they can do!

Since Kreutzer is from one of those fancy shmup games that clog your screen with bullets, each of her dolls have some sort of attack style based solely off of that, but that doesn't mean she can't branch out! I mean, look at all of the types she can make! So really, if your character can do it, she can make her dolls do it, too.

Most, if not all, of her dolls share a few characteristics with each other. For example:

Flight: Yup, they fly. Everywhere. Speed and maneuverability differ from doll to doll; this will be the same for the ones she'll create based on your characters.

Danmaku (bullet patterns): That stuff all the touhou girls use to fight each other. Since Kreutzer's not from there, there's no guarantee that her world's danmaku is just as non-lethal. Teehee! But yeah, the dolls don't have to shoot bullets if you don't want them to; you want swords? Done. Vacuum cleaners? Got it. As long as it makes sense with your character, it can be done.

planeshifts: Her canon's equivalent of "bullet time," or time slowing down to allow for dramatic action dives so people can actually see the bullets fly. However, the one who triggers the planeshift is immune to being slowed down, so to the user, it's like everything else slowed down while they can move normally. Pretty awesome stuff, huh?

Kamikaze bombs: Remember when I said if you hit them too hard, they'd explode? I wasn't kidding. The dolls have devastating bombs built into them; the strength and radius of the explosion will vary from doll to doll, but yeah, pretty dangerous stuff. Ask Kreutzer's not!husband, Hajime; he's felt the blunt of them the most. Very few dolls would be able to trigger them at will, but if the doll doesn't feel threatened, it is possible for them to withhold on blowing themselves up on physical contact. Hugs and stuff won't be a problem, but punching one or hitting one with a blunt instrument? No bueno. But things like ranged attacks, magic, bullets, blades and things of that sort can destroy the doll without triggering their bombs. The character can request that their doll not have a bomb in it, if they'd prefer; Kreutzer won't mind!

For an idea on how Kreutzer can make custom dolls, feel free to take a look at this thread. It's not really in an organized format, but it's pretty much what Kreutzer can do. And once again, here's a link to the canon dolls she can make, in case you'd like a reference.

ICly, Kreutzer will be gathering all volunteers outside her home where she will demonstrate what her dolls are capable of. They won't hurt anyone, but expect the presentation to look like this, except without Kreutzer's involvement. But while onlookers will be distracted by the dolls, she'll bring people over one at a time to a machine she's been working on for the good part of a few weeks: it pretty much emits a constant planeshift to those immediately close to it. From there, Kreutzer will speak to your character, ask questions and get to know them better, but it will happen so quickly, anyone watching would be in disbelief! And after Kreutzer finishes the character's doll, she'll send it to them and they can keep it, free of charge! She might start charging for additional dolls, so take care of yours!

OOCly, I'll personally tend to each doll and their abilities as best as I can, so I apologize if it takes me a long time to come up with something, but rest assured I won't leave any character behind! I plan on starting this event next week after the poison joke event; during that week, I'll put up a log where Kreutzer will hold her gathering and after that.

So Moist here, back in Ankh-Morpork, was the Postmaster General, which basically means that he ran the Post Office there. And he ran it very well, though there were a few kinks to work out along the way. And since no one seems to trust the guy in charge of the Post Office here, well, he's decided to put up one of his own!

What's it going to do? Well, it'll deliver letters. Simple as that. However, any resistances can use this other post office to deliver anything they think is too sensitive to be read by anyone other than the intended recipient (and anyone else who just doesn't trust the Post Office here can use this one instead). Moist won't read the letters or open the packages, don't worry, but he will deliver them as best as he can!

Now, what's the purpose of this post? Well, despite being a lovely sight in a golden suit, Moist is still just one person, and he can't possibly deliver all those letters. So he's going to make an announcement in a few days' time, looking for people willing to take on a part-time job. Anyone who can deliver the mail can come apply, which means that men, women, children, pets, and others are free to apply as a pseudo-postman!

And, no, he won't be giving out regains or anything, which is something the Post Office has on him.

tl;dr: Who wants to be a postman and still be able to stick it to the man?

The Scarlet Mist mini-event, as detailed here, has started! Red mist has started to cover the town Monday, and by Tuesday will cover most of it in a thick layer of impenetrable scarlet fog. It all goes away Tuesday night though, after Marisa makes her stop! There's a Remilia post here covering both days of the event, though of course feel free to make your own reactionary posts to the mist and so on.

Posting here because I honestly have no idea why people put this stuff in the meme comm to alert you all that a month ago, Remi regained her Scarlet Mist spell that she used in her debut game, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. At least, she earned the regain, but will only be actually getting it next week because as soon as she does, she's going to use it!

What does this mean for you?

It means on Monday, March 26th, a strange, red mist is going to fill the town. At first it will just be a few wisps, mostly around Ricardo street, by evening it will be quite a bit thicker and wide-spread; by Tuesday Morning, March 27th, a large portion of the town will be so covered in scarlet mist that it will be impossible to see more than a couple yards, or even as low as just a foot or two. It will end up covering many residential areas, the schools and the park and downtown, but because of its odd distribution, feel free to mayfield!geography your location as being in or out of the mist; those who view it from above will notice it has a large, almost wing-like pattern (it's actually the shape of Remilia's hands when she releases the spell). Magic-sensitive people will probably notice it's magical in origin and might be able to track down its point of origin to 506 Ricardo street, Remilia's house.

Anyone who is in the mist, comes into contact with it, or breathes it in... will have absolutely nothing happen. IT'S JUST RED-COLORED MIST. Remilia uses it because she's a vampire and the sun sucks. This is mostly an alert for people to notice a metric FUCKTON of red mist in town Monday and Tuesday - by midnight Tuesday, it will be all gone, because Marisa is going to come beat the crap out of Remilia and make her put it away. So feel free to have your characters notice all the mist, complain about not being able to see jack shit, run around in it, wonder if it's going to make them all go crazy or if it's poison or something, etc.

Feel free to post here if you'd like to plot things with other players, arrange to try to fight Remilia over it or tangle with the rest of the Scarlet Devil Mansion trying to seek the culprit, etc.

Egon has created a batch of positively-charged slime to counteract the effects of the nasty mood slime and is handing out retro-fitted vacuum cleaners full of the stuff to volunteers. These vacuum cleaners have had their mechanisms reversed so that they shoot out the slime rather than suction.

The following characters have volunteered and will received a vacuum cleaner full of slime from Egon:

- Nina Fortner
- Crowley
- Fujino Asagami
- Klaus Wulfenbach
- Bazett
- Gilgamesh
- Ilsa Higa

Spraying an affected character with the happy!slime will cause them to go into a euphoric state. They might confess joyful, sappy feelings of love (familial, friendly, or romantic) for everyone and everything around them. And they'll be very huggy. Watch out for the slimy hugs. Inanimate objects will do a happy dance. These effects will disappear when the happy!slime is washed off.

If your character was affected by the slime on Day 1, they will still have those effects unless the slime has been washed off or the character has been hosed down with the happy!slime.

The ghosts will still be in town until they're driven away by a character who is capable of such. By midnight tonight Egon and the others will have coated the town in happy!slime, the portal will be closed, and the ghosts will be gone if they weren't already.

Today, the slime has become so powerful that a portal to the ghost world has opened and Mayfield is haunted! Buildings including homes, stores, and even the school might become the dwelling of a pesky or even angry spirit.

If you know anyone who can do something about the ghosts you might want to get a hold of them. Unless, you know, you like living with ghosts.

If your character was affected by the slime yesterday, they will still have those effects unless the slime has been washed off.
