Applications

• Please read over all the rules and information before applying in order to minimize any confusion before joining.

• If applying for a character that has already been dropped, it would be a good idea, though not required, to know something of their previous interactions. You are also free to pick up a dropped character with no memories of their previous time in Mayfield.

• All content for the personality and sample entry in your app must be written or roleplayed by you; for the personality section in particular, we do not accept copied text from wikis or other sources. Obviously, you may not copy your app from other players, whether in Mayfield or other games. Application plagiarism will result in a ban from the game.

• If you wish for your character to be placed in a specific house, please mention this in the relevant section of the application and specify that permission was obtained by the PCs already residing in that house. We will be operating by the Honor System for this, and there is no need for others to comment their permission in this post!

• Other special requests would also best go in the beginning of the application. Remember, grammar and spelling are important -- if your app contains errors, you will be asked to revise.

• Please post all applications or canon updates in this post; posting them elsewhere and linking to them from here may cause them to get changed later. Posting them here keeps us from having to save them.

When Applying, Fill Out the Following:

When Applying for an Original Character, Fill Out the Following

• Before applying, please look over any applications that were recently accepted to get an idea of what we're looking for.

• If you apply for a character that has already been reserved, we will inform you and ignore the application until the reserve runs out. You may not apply for more than two characters from the same canon. For the sample entry, you may write your own entry, or use a post from a musebox, dressing room, or other game. We recommend [community profile] testrun_box if you prefer the latter!

• After you're accepted, please follow all of the instructions given. You will need to reply to the acceptance, post your journal to the friend add page and your canon post, join the communities, and use the friend add page to update your journal. Once you're accepted, please introduce yourself on the community when you're ready to play.

• If your app is "Pending", do not freak out! This means that we need you to make some revisions, and does not mean you're rejected. We generally give players a chance to revise before rejecting them, but we will reject apps that do not address the concerns stated when we asked for a revision. If you have been rejected, our reply will clearly state this to be the case. If we have not gotten back to you yet, under no circumstance does this mean you are rejected. If it has been over a week since our last reply, it would be a good idea to contact us with a reminder, otherwise, please be patient!

• If you have received a "Pending" notice, you will have one week to supply us with your revisions, or your reserve will be considered expired and that someone else is free to apply for the character.

• The typical wait for a reply on apps may be anywhere from a day to a little over a week. If any part of your application requires a pending, it may be another week after your reply to that before we can get to you. We process a high volume of apps every round, so please be patient.

If you have not heard back on a pending for over a week after apps close, please send a PM directly to the mod account.

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED.

Minato Arisato | Persona 3 | not reserved

[personal profile] doudemoe 2012-07-12 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Name: Jackie
Personal Journal: [personal profile] duena
Contact Info: du3na [AIM], jb7337@gmail.com [email], fantasticks [Plurk]
Other Characters Played: N/A
Preferred Housing: N/A

Character Name: Minato Arisato
Character Series: Persona 3
Character Age: 18 at his canon point
Background: Wikia link
Personality: Being a silent protagonist, much of Minato's personality is left blank, leaving it up to the player to interpret him themselves. Nonetheless, canon does provide him a couple of traits. But none is more prominent than his quiet, non-chalant attitude. Indeed, this is the boy who walked through a dark city of coffins and blood to get to his assigned dormitory, barely batting an eyelash. More emotional characters like Junpei and Yukari comment on how nothing seems to phase him. (There's a humorous short story in one of the character materials where his passive attitude gets him into trouble.)

Despite this, his stoic demeanor has positive effects: it allows him to successfully lead in battle because he can think under pressure, and he's a good listener when his friends need one because he's not the type of person who makes hasty judgmental reactions. Because of this, despite his quiet demeanor (or because of it?), he manages to befriend many ladies people. This list includes his teammates, classmates, club members, and a few miscellaneous (including a corrupt businessman).

That's not to say he's a perfect being. For example, while Minato manages his daily routine pretty well, sometimes he'll make dumb mistakes like make Sunday plans with a friend, forgetting that he already made plans with another one and hurting their feelings. Or sometimes he'll enter a battle with the wrong Persona equipped, be knocked off his ass, and only survive because of a combo of luck and quick thinking by his teammates. Talented he may be, Minato is neither invulnerable nor immortal.

Another prominent trait is his sleepiness, as evidenced by the game giving you the option to sleep in class. At one point, he manages to sleep throughout a freaking typhoon (though granted he was also sick). The manga takes this trait and runs with it, making him a complete sleepyhead with moe humorous results. All that said, he somehow manages to get good grades (through studying late at night, not helping his sleep habits).

He's also a fairly big eater. The majority of Social Links take place in a restaurant or cafe. During one of their dates, when Yukari makes a remark to herself about eating more than a regular girl, Minato has the option to tell her, "It's a healthy appetite." Even the Gourmet King remarks how well Minato can keep up with his pace. Elizabeth, the only one who beats him in this aspect, remarks how he stopped eating after their 7th meal. Seven meals is still quite a fairly high number for a male teenager, especially one who still maintains a rail-thin appearance.

He isn't all jokes and derpiness though, and this is where my interpretation comes in. This is a kid who lost his parents at too early an age, and at the same time had Death sealed inside him. This traumatic encounter has affected him subconsciously, causing him to become more aware of how "all things come to the same end." To be frank, he's all-too aware of death, and up 'til now he was very much afraid of it. And without a strong family support unit to fall back on, no one to talk to about this, he quietly bared this burden alone. Even today, while he listens to others describe their problems to him and he gives some gentle (though sometimes blunt) advice, no one has done the same for him. Maybe he figures, it's better to take on the world's burdens than to burden the world. It could be he doesn't think of his own issues as burdensome. If anyone asked about his parent situation for example, he'd try to be optimistic about it.

His fear of death is arguably the main focus of the game, referenced excruciatingly everywhere from the opening song to the ending. Much of the game is about him finally accepting that death happens, but it's not always the end, and overcoming it. Even though he's dead now, his actions had a tremendous impact on his friends and the world. And because of that, he still continues to live on in their hearts. He isn't carrying the burden alone anymore. Now his friends are helping him as well.

Overall, he's generally an intelligent, charming, if quiet guy. He's not a chatty person in general, and is expressionless, so it's hard for others to read him. Most assume he doesn't have any emotions, although that's far from the truth. He makes jokes sometimes (though only his close friends notice it), and he appreciates a good meal. And while mostly he's even-tempered, threaten his friends and he'll be ready to kick your ass. And while he's often confronted with death, there's not much else that scares him (besides Fuuka's cooking).

Abilities: Persona, the ability to summon manifestations of his psyche by shooting himself with a fake gun (Evoker). Having the Wild Card ability, he can also carry more than one Persona, so he can switch to whichever one he needs at the moment. Here in Mayfield, he'll only be able to regain the Personas he had prior to getting snatched away, and with no Velvet Room he can neither gain access to his Compendium nor fuse new Personas. (Or date Elizabeth.)

His Personas also gain strength through the Power of Friendship, which....refers mostly to fusing Persona, so it doesn't matter in Mayfield. But, this ability does let him know how strong each of his friendships are, or if they're pissed at him (via Reverse or Broken). He'll have this ability back once he regains a Persona.

His physical strength will be knocked down to Normal without the bonus of his Personas, but it'll still be a Badass Normal. He's physically well fit, thanks to Track team and fights in Tartarus. He can wield most weaponry except knives and (ironically) guns, but his default choice is the one-handed sword.

Yuki Nagato | The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

[personal profile] tenderoblivion 2012-07-12 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Name: DL/Wighty
Personal Journal: [personal profile] wightknight
Contact Info: AIM: DLWriter7, [plurk.com profile] Holsety
Other Characters Played: Lucas, Susan Sto Helit, Beast Boy
Preferred Housing: N/A

Character Name: Yuki Nagato
Character Series: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Character Age: After the events of Endless Eight, Yuki has over 500 years of personal memories. Chronologically, she is about three.
Background: Please see the Biography section here.
Personality: Yuki presents a very underdeveloped personality at the beginning of the series, originally chalked up to the fact that she has only recently begun to interact with humans. It is worth noting, however, that she was deliberately designed this way by her superiors for some unknown reason – Emiri Kimidori is somewhat more emotional than Yuki, and Ryoko Asakura, for all intents and purposes, behaves precisely as what one might expect of a human (though slightly more homicidal). Both of these interfaces are the same age as Yuki, yet manage to interact much more readily with human beings. Regardless, Yuki's underdeveloped personality means she responds to everything in a concise, intellectual manner, seemingly uninterested in holding normal conversations or unaware of what a normal conversation is.

When she does have something to say, though, she doesn’t hold back. In her long plot exposition with Kyon, Yuki takes a good nine or ten minutes to explain the situation (though still more or less in a monotone), rapidly spitting out highly sophisticated language. She exhibits this same behavior whenever she needs to explain anything – for instance, in the battle against the cave cricket. As a data lifeform, Yuki is brilliant. Though she initially had no idea how a computer functioned (waving the mouse around in the air), in less than a week, she was seen typing and hacking at superhuman speeds, able to circumvent the Computer Society’s rules and turn the tables with ease. The same superhuman learning was seen when Haruhi asked her to play the guitar during the show. She performed her solos perfectly, though still without a trace of emotion on her face.

As the series progresses, however, Yuki does undergo significant character development. It is shown that she is highly receptive of Kyon’s comments – After the battle against Ryoko Asakura, she does not reform her lost glasses after Kyon informs her that he is not a ‘glasses man’, meaning that he finds her more attractive without. During the last plot episode of the first season, she informs Kyon that even though there were many other interfaces on Earth, she would not allow any other rogue data entities to harm him. And during the mysterious incident on the island, Kyon is able to override Haruhi’s orders of not letting anyone in no matter who they may be. It is here that he also notes that she may be developing a sense of humor. Her actions may have been her idea of a joke.

Over the course of the series, Yuki definitively begins to develop emotion, an occurrence that she refers to as 'accumulating errors'. Her feelings about her situation and her feelings for Kyon become so strong that she causes a major world cataclysm, stealing Haruhi's power and creating an alternate dimension wherein she was a normal human girl who developed a crush on Kyon. She does, however, retain some rationality, providing Kyon with an escape route in order to return to his original world if he so desired. From this incident, it is clear that she is frustrated with her state of being and with her assigned duties, but also trusts in Kyon enough that she cedes her own desires to his. It is expected that Kyon will aid her through her growing humanity such that something like this never happens again.

Abilities: Yuki is near omnipotent and near omniscient due to her data alteration and manipulation powers and her existence as a data life form. Other data life forms can cause her significant injury by modifying her data or introducing hostile data, but even among data entities, she is one of the more powerful. However, Yuki has some limitations in that she normally needs to request permission for major data manipulation; in Mayfield, she will have to act autonomously, which she will be more hesitant about.
Sample Entry: Please see all of the entries in the journal [personal profile] tenderoblivion.

As a note, I would like to re-app Yuki with all of her memories and regains from my previous stay here.

Character Name: Adolf Hitler
Character Series: Afterschool Charisma
Character Age: 16
Background:
There are few fan sites for Afterschool Charisma, so here's my take on the canon. A group of scientists sponsored by several government agencies all around the world have started a project to clone famous historical figures. Ever wonder what Mozart could have done with a few more years to compose? Well, let's find out. Could Einstein or Freud have advanced their respective fields of study even farther? Now they have the chance. The clones are housed at St. Kleio's, a private school set up to train the clones in anything their 'originals' (the people they were cloned from.) would have known. And of course, to take that knowledge farther, if possible.

Each year, the sponsors are invited to the school to witness the progress of the students. This is also the only real contact the clones have with the outside world, as they are extremely sheltered until they graduate. The school does treat them fairly well, though, as long as they follow rules. If you don't....well, then you're a failed experiment. It's unknown what happens to failed experiments, but they do tend to disappear.

Of course, none of that explains why they created some of the clones. Everyone can agree that more Mozart symphonies or Einstein theories are beneficial. But what could anyone want with a clone of Adolf Hitler? Well, Adolf would really like the answer to that question himself. He keeps to himself at school, and his only real friend is Shiro. (The only non-clone student who attends the school because his dad is the chairman.) The other clones tend to avoid him, because even though he's one of the nicest students in the school, he's Hitler. Who wants to be friends with Hitler?!? This is probably what led him to join the Dolly cult.

That's right, there's a secret cult at the school, formed by the clone of Rasputin. (Why they cloned him is anyone's guess.) They worship the first successful clone. Dolly the sheep. I'm not kidding. Thus far, it's mostly been a group of students praying to escape the fates of their originals. Not surprisingly, it attracts kids like Hitler and Joan of Arc. Mostly the ones who are facing pretty grim fates. It is also widely believed that small stuffed versions of Dolly the sheep will bring the students good luck. These are even carried by students outside of Rasputin's cult. This fear of facing the same fate as one's original is spreading among the students due to the recent assassination of the schools first successful graduate, JFK. Unknown to most of the student body, the teachers have been receiving threatening letters from an unknown organization that intends to wipe out the clones. But Freud has been hacking the schools computers, so the information is beginning to leak out...
Personality:
The historical Hitler is infamous for orchestrating some of the greatest atrocities the world has ever seen. Who knows what St. Kleio's school was expecting from the clone of Adolf Hitler. What they got was a sweet, even tempered, all around nice guy. Hitler is a good student, polite to his classmates, and respectful to his elders. He never questions the teachers and always does as he's told. A pacifist, he says himself that he 'wouldn't hurt a fly.' He doesn't like conflict, and always tries to mediate disputes between his classmates. He criticizes Joan of Arc for excluding Shiro from what she sees as ‘clone only’ activities, saying that they can never understand one another if they don’t try.

Given that the school places special emphasis on knowing one’s original, Hitler knows well the crimes committed by his. The other students know this as well, and tend to avoid Hitler, unsure of how to relate to him. But he doesn’t blame them for it. He’s resigned to living a lonely life. In fact, he believes that the reason for his existence is to atone for the crimes of his original. So anything that happens to him? It’s his punishment. And it’s completely justified. According to Hitler, anyway. In his own words, he is 'the most hated and detested clone there is.' Shiro has tried to talk him out of this attitude, but with little success. Hitler is afraid that if he allows himself to cast off the burden of guilt, he will wind up becoming more like his original. There is nothing that scares him more than this.

This combination of fear and self-loathing led him to join the Dolly cult that has formed in the school. The students in the cult pray to Dolly the sheep, asking to escape the troubles that plagued their originals. Some of them, Hitler included, participate in a form of self-hypnosis designed to separate one's own identity from that of their original. For Hitler, his fellow cult members also provide a support network of sorts, even if they aren't really his friends. He doesn't take the cult quite as seriously as students like Joan of Arc do, (for example, Hitler wanted to let Shiro join and he isn't even a clone.) but it is still an important part of his life. Actually, it's his only social life apart from Shiro.

Perhaps as a side effect from associating with the Dolly cult, or maybe just a quirk of personality, Hitler is actually very superstitious. He really believes that the stuffed Dolly charms will bring luck to their owners, whether they are clones or not. This is why he gave one to Shiro. In addition, he believes that it's bad luck to mistreat the dolls or to disrespect Dolly herself. He immediately connects Mozart's attempt at suicide with the boy's earlier mistreatment of Shiro's Dolly. Interestingly, when Mozart survives, Hitler is quick to tell Shiro that it was 'Dolly's divine mercy' that saved him. He even gives Mozart a Dolly of his own, heedless of Mozart's opinion of the sheep.

Despite claiming to be completely resigned to loneliness, in reality, Hitler wants friends more than he wants anything else in the world. This is apparent in the way he treats Shiro. When Shiro has a problem, Hitler provides his friend with a sympathetic ear and often good advice. He gives very uplifting pep-talks, actually, (complete with free plushies) and is quite understanding. And he is always willing to drop whatever he's doing to help Shiro out if he needs it. Actually, even though Hitler hates to be in conflict with other students, he has no problem arguing on behalf of a friend.
Abilities:
He's a clone of Adolf Hitler, and as such, he has no supernatural abilities whatsoever. He's been well trained in political science and military history at school. Like all of the clones, he has been drilled thoroughly in everything his original would have known. He turns out to be a fairly persuasive speaker when you get him going on a topic he cares about. He is also quite craftsy and is well known to be good at sewing and making stuffed animals. His stuffed 'Dollys' are considered to be the best in school.

Sample Entry:
Anything out of his old journal [livejournal.com profile] springtime4me should suffice.
Also he will naturally be keeping his memories and regains. I feel like he deserves to see Mayfield's finale.

Bernkastel | Umineko no Nako Koro ni | no reserve

[personal profile] miraculous 2012-07-12 05:16 am (UTC)(link)

Personal Journal: [personal profile] maiiau
Contact Info: maiiau @ plurk, ninthbluestar @ aim
Other Characters Played: Lithuania, Hilda, Handmaid, apping Sealand
Preferred Housing: 504 Ricardo; BLU Medic hasn't been in the game for a while even though he's listed, so the house is empty!

Character Name: Bernkastel
Character Series: Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Character Age: physically 13ish, actually ~1000

Background: Bernkastel was born from a piece on a game board played between witches. While it was never elaborated on specifically, it was implied that this game was between Lambdadelta, the Witch of Certainty, and Featherine Augustus Aurora, the Witch of Theatergoing, and that this game was Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Lambda had granted Miyo Takano a wish as a gift for her stunning levels of determination and hard working nature and made it that her efforts would be "absolutely" successful. This wish only applies for as long as she is "absolutely" determined to reach this goal, but Miyo was, and a girl named Rika Furude died, and Miyo succeeded. But Rika had a friend who was a god, Hanyuu, and this god could travel between kakera (worlds). She did this for Rika, gathering up her memories and transporting them to various other Rikas in other worlds, looking for a happy end.

This is what kept Rika alive, because Featherine had since abandoned the game board, leaving Rika to solve her own fate. As this continued for what was a hundred years to Rika (meaning she relived the same time period about 2000 times, possibly more), Frederica Bernkastel, a witch, was born. She was the accumulated memories and hope and pessimism and exhaustion of all of the Rikas that were now this one Rika, travelling.

Eventually Rika succeeded in getting her happy ending and gave up being a witch. With this, Frederica Bernkastel no longer existed: "Frederica" returned to Rika, and "Bernkastel" was cast off, losing all essence of the caring, hopeful Rika and being left with only the cruel determination and desperation that had kept her alive and fighting for so long.

Bernkastel became a voyaging witch, often running into Lambdadelta, whom she had bested in that game of endurance, being a miko for Featherine (who was something of a mentor to her), and generally trying to escape from the memories of the game she was born in. At some point she and Lambda became close, Bernkastel enjoying the challenges and the general attitude of the other witch.

Bernkastel's travels eventually took her to one particular gameboard, that of the witch Beatrice, another project of Lambdadelta's. She decided to make her next goal winning this game against her and proving that events within the game board had not been caused by a witch. She and Lambdadelta proceeded to make a mess of things.

Bernkastel, realizing Battler needed a good reason to continue playing the game lest he get exhausted, created the piece Ange--Battler's younger sister, who had not been involved in the events of the game that killed her family. By going back and promising that she would be able to see her family again if she never smiled and rejected the only family she had left, she was able to pick up that piece later in its life. She kept her promise: she brought this Ange to the meta world, where she could see Battler struggling to save her family and watch the rest of her relatives killed over and over. She promised Battler would return to Ange--she did not say which Ange; it is impossible for that Ange to have Battler return, because it did not happen for her and that time has passed.

Bernkastel's condition was that Ange not reveal herself as Ange to Battler; eventually, Ange did do this, and was reduced to mincemeat as she clung to her brother's back. This was something Bernkastel had planned for, however, as motivation for Battler.

After that piece had been discarded, Beatrice was barely left alive, and Battler refusing to play without her. This led to Lambdadelta playing on Beatrice's behalf and Bernkastel playing on Battler's, and Bern created a new piece for this situation, a girl named Erika Furudo, whom she took from a passing ship and placed on the island. With detective's authority, she quickly smashed heartlessly through various witch illusions on behalf of her master.

While she came very close to winning, eventually Battler returned from what was about as close to defeat as someone can get without tumbling entirely unsavably over the edge, presented unshakable doubt in Erika's deductions, and revealed that he fully understood Beatrice's game and was the next Game Master. Erika was given one more chance--truly Bernkastel is the witch of miracles, it's a miracle she got that chance--to defeat Battler in his game.

Erika again got close, after playing up an act of weakness and Bernkastel's threatening her in front of Battler (though those threats were not necessarily lies), and trapped Battler in a logic error (although this might have just all been a Xanatos Gambit on Battler's part). With a newly revived Beatrice's help he escaped, however, and laid Beatrice to rest. Erika was killed, but Bernkastel was not there to watch a piece that was no longer of use.

Bernkastel had also been summoned by Featherine Augustus Aurora (or, as Bern prefers, Featherine Auaurora) to be her miko once more and show her the answers to the Umineko game. Bernkastel presented her with the world of Lion, an extremely rare outcome. This is the other possibility for Beatrice--in this world, the human who becomes Beatrice does not do so, and instead lives as Lion.

Bernkastel uses another piece, Clair Vaux Bernardus, to tell the story of Yasu, who was born between the grandfather of the Ushiromiya family, Kinzo, and the second Beatrice (...who was also his daughter from the first Beatrice, aaa). In most worlds, this gender ambiguous child is Yasu and not Lion. I will be referring to Yasu as female. Yasu had multiple personalities--Shannon, Kanon, and eventually Beatrice. Because all of these personalities loved different people, the tragedies of Umineko happened. She summoned Will Wright, a high-powered witch hunter from heaven, to discount all of the witch illusions in the other games, which he did. At first this seemed like a straightforward, almost gentle funeral for Beatrice. Lion even thanked Bernkastel.

But you should love a story while it's alive, and then tear apart its entrails when it's dead. Bernkastel presented to a returning Ange and Lion the apparent truth of Ange's world: that her own family had been the one to kill the rest of her relatives after solving Beatrice's mystery. She then revealed that this would be the same fate Lion's world would see, and Lion would die the same way. Just as she was about to have cats devour Lion, Will came in and saved her, saying Lion had to live for the other versions of Lion in other worlds who didn't have the chance for a happy ending. Bernkastel chased after them, siccing her cats on them.

That's as far as she got.

Personality: Bernkastel is the cruelest witch in the world. She makes no secret of this, although some may not believe her when she says it. That's simply because they don't know her well enough yet.

At first glance Bernkastel seems unemotionless--she's very good at projecting a cold exterior, and when she doesn't wish it to, her face is as blank as a doll's. This hides her cruel personality well, although if you stop to think about it, it can also display it: she is capable of showing little to no reaction to most of the happiest and saddest things as if none of it mattered.

Beneath this icy exterior is a girl who adores seeing the struggles and pain of others, however, make no mistake. She travels from world to world to alleviate her boredom, for boredom is "the poison that kills witches". She stops on various worlds and treats them like games, playing with the pieces (people in the world) however she wishes until she tires of them, at which point she moves on. She tries to win these games at all costs, and thinks nothing of twisting her words to deceive a piece if it will cause them to grow into something she can use. Bernkastel does not often lie; she does twist the truth, neglect to tell the full truth, or refuse to say anything at all, however.

Individual game pieces mean next to nothing to her. While they are useful she may shower the attention on them that motivates them, be it affection or anger, but once they lose their usefulness she discards them without a second thought, unless the method of discarding them can be used to motivate some other piece. If she takes an interest in one it's not a good thing; either it can be used or playing with it amuses her, like a cat with a mouse.

Deep at her core, although it does not excuse her cruelty, there is a broken girl. Bernkastel was a witch born from a piece. When she was a piece, the witch in charge of their game left her in a logic error, which is the greatest sin which all witches must avoid. She was doomed to live in that logic error, which is a place of immense terror and loneliness, all by herself, until she corrected this error. Because she was a piece and not a witch, she was not even given the option of giving up and dying.

It's like folding a piece of paper a hundred times to reach the moon. It's like putting a cat on a typewriter until it types Shakespeare.

And she folded it a hundred times. And she typed Shakespeare. And she became the witch of miracles.

But her miracle is knowing that miracles do not exist. She will try all possibilities, every single one, no matter how long it takes. If the possibility is not zero, Bernkastel can find it. If that possibility is zero, however--if it would really take a true miracle--Bernkastel will never find it. She can only travel between possibilities, after all. This cruel truth, pressed into her from countless maddening years trapped in logic error, has made her what she is. She is cold and cruel and constantly running from the memories of her time trapped there. If she can cause pain instead of receiving it, make people feel terror instead of feeling it herself, then things feel more real, and less like she simply went insane in that trap and imagined escape.

Bernkastel is not incapable of affection or love, but her love is a twisted thing. She respects those who can play on an equal level with her, although she considers very few capable of this. Like a cat she's finicky in her choices, and her love can be as dangerous as her hatred. It's just the people she chooses to love are just as twisted. Those who will play with her, or against her, and give her a good challenge, are those she enjoys spending time with. Someone who doesn't bore her is ideal. She's declared her love for Lambdadelta because of these reasons, although she is as likely to threaten to stick chocolate parasols in her eyes as she is to lick honey off her body.

Abilities: Bernkastel is a witch, which means she has various powers. She can teleport, hover, travel between worlds (kakera), access a higher-plane "meta world" on each kakera, and summon various objects as she needs them. She is capable of energy-projectile-like magical attacks, as well as summoning demon cats to attack and devour anyone she wishes. Sometimes she is also a cat, but usually only when greatly injured. She possesses a scythe that can sever miracles from reality. She can't die of old age and will revive if killed, simply pulling herself from a kakera in which she was not killed.

As the witch of miracles, her main power is creating a miracle--but she doesn't believe in miracles. What she can do is pull from various options the best solutions after spending time looking through them: as long as the probability of an outcome is not zero, it is possible for Bernkastel to cause it to happen. She can travel to these other worlds or she can stitch it into the current reality she's in.

She can also summon furniture (servants), use the Red Truth to indicate things that are true without question (although the wording may be played with as long as the statement remains true), and the Blue Truth, which is true unless denied by the red truth.

Naturally Bernkastel will be unable to regain her world-traveling powers, furniture-summoning powers, and meta-world powers.

Sample Entry: this, or anything else in that journal

Note: I will be retaining Bernkastel's old memories and regains.

Eruka Frog | Soul Eater | No reserve

[personal profile] falconpawnch 2012-07-12 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Name: Dante
Personal Journal: [personal profile] falconpawnch
Contact Info: TheIrradiated on Plurk and AIM
Other Characters Played: Luke Triton
Preferred Housing: N/A
Character Name: Eruka Frog
Character Series: Soul Eater
Character Age: Early twenties (in appearance only, since she’s a witch it’s likely that she’s much, much older.)
Background: http://souleater.wikia.com/wiki/Eruka_Frog#Part_in_the_Story
Personality:

Eruka is pretty cowardly, pure and simple. She’ll submit to whoever exerts enough power over her, or at least try to run away instead. When it became obvious that Medusa could easily kill her, the first thing Eruka did was transform into a frog and run away. Unfortunately, Medusa caught up with her and forced Eruka into doing her dirty work in order to get the snakes removed. From then on, Eruka followed Medusa’s orders without question, the only time she did question it is when Medusa sent her on a mission to rescue Free, a mission that could’ve killed Eruka if she was found out. She doesn’t get into fights she knows she’s going to lose, instead preferring to transform into a frog and run away, or spy on others instead. She even admits this to Medusa right before she and Mizune challenge her to a fight, saying that she wouldn’t have fought Medusa if she didn’t have soul protection on. In fact, the very first battle between Medusa and Eruka showed Eruka’s opportunist side, as she saw a chance to kill Medusa without resistance and tried to take it.

As for Medusa, Eruka hates her for obvious reasons. Because of her, she’s a slave to Medusa, forced to follow orders or be killed by Medusa’s many snakes. Another reason she hates Medusa is because of how Medusa works at Shibusen undercover, which if Medusa is found out, she could endanger other witches in Eruka’s community as well. It’s one of Eruka’s main motivations for attempting to kill Medusa. However, despite her hatred of the witch, she also admires Medusa a little for being such a great witch. She confesses that after the Kishin is revived, and Medusa is apparently killed. Eruka pretty much says that she’s glad Medusa’s dead, and then admits to her skills as a powerful witch. Without Medusa around, Eruka is shown to be cheerful and carefree.

She is also shown having a very playful side to her as well, like when she playfully calls out to the soldiers in Baba Yaga’s castle right before she escapes and blows up one of the castle’s magic locks. Eruka shows off her feistier attitude as well, such as calling people morons or calling people out whenever they’ve done something dumb. Also, as a witch, Eruka just adores destruction. It’s part of a witches’ nature, called the Sway of Magic, which is when a witches’ destructive nature begins to kick in. She thrives on chaos, and destroying and wrecking stuff makes her happy. After she blows up Medusa’s lab with her tadpole bombs, she smiles and says “I love destruction. It’s a good thing I was born a witch.”

Eruka is also fairly apathetic. Often times, she puts her own needs first before others. She tends not to be perceptive towards the feelings of others. For example, she’s oblivious to how much Chrona’s struggles to choose between following Medusa and betraying her friends at Shibusen. Eruka’s not completely unfeeling though, as when she does catch on to Chrona’s pain, she tells her Medusa will praise her as a slight attempt to comfort her. She’s also very, very protective of allies she’s especially close to, such as Mizune. During a fight with Black Star, she jumps in and starts throw bombs at him even though she‘s terrified, to help Mizune and Chrona escape. And in the end, she was captured herself. But even though she was captured, she’s proven herself to be a capable leader when she needs to be, despite being under Medusa’s thumb. For example, she leads around Mizune to help spy for Medusa, and during the attack on Baba Yaga’s castle, she leads Mizune to help blow up one of the magic locks that Free forgot to take care of himself. She and Mizune were also the first ones to discover Medusa’s infiltration of Shibusen and planned the confrontation between them.

Even though she’s a witch, Eruka’s very loyal to whoever she sees as her companions. She shows genuine compassion and protectiveness towards her tadpole familiar, Otama Jackson and even scolds Free for being rough with Otama Jackson, despite the tadpole getting slightly injured. When Otama Jackson gets hurt during the fight to revive the Kishin, Eruka decides to revive the Kishin not just for Medusa, but for her familiar‘s sake. She also seems to be on very good terms with other witches in her community, her best friend being a family of witches all named Mizune, who she feels guilty for lying to in order to get Mizune to go along with Medusa’s plan. With her other companion, Free, she becomes somewhat clingy to him and tends to stick close to him, even though she makes fun of him from time to time when he screws up something.

Abilities:

Transform Ability: Eruka can turn herself into a frog, while keeping the ability to talk.
Egg Bombs: Little bombs in the shape of tadpoles that look very similiar to Otama Jackson. They have the ability to bounce towards a target before they blow up.
Magic Calculation: Used to make high level spells more accurate by creating a place marker.
Soul Protect: Because witches are constantly being hunted by meisters and weapons, they use a spell to conceal themselves so that they aren't detected as witches. However, they can't use any of their other abilities when they do this.

Sample Entry: I used to play her in Mayfield! Here is one of her entries.

Note: I would like to keep her former memories and regains, please!

Old Gregg | The Mighty Boosh 1/2

AIM: nathander2007
Other Characters Played: Pokey Minch, Haruko Haruhara
Preferred Housing: None, but I’d like Old Gregg to take a wife’s spot in the housing because, despite being naturally hermaphroditic, he’s going to come into Mayfield in a woman’s body before regaining his actual one later

Character Name: Old Gregg
Character Series: The Mighty Boosh
Character Age: Unknown; he would appear to be in his late twenties-early thirties, but he’s shown at the same age in a flashback to the 70s, implying he has relatively slow agin
Background: http://mightyboosh.wikia.com/wiki/Old_Gregg
Personality:
Considering he’s a freaky fish man with a mangina that constantly refers to himself in the third person, it’s unsurprising that Old Gregg defines himself so much based around his body and nature as a “freak”. While it’s stated that he at some point did, in fact, live with normal people due to the fact that he had taken a home economics course and had gotten an A+ in said course for a crumble he’d made. Regardless, at some point or another he was either ostracized enough that he ended up leaving civilized society, finding a cave under Black Lake Pond as his home, where his psychosis began to steadily grow.

A major point of this psychosis is his battle about his appearance. He clearly recognizes himself as a freak, referring to his hermaphroditism as his “down-stairs mixup”, as well as his persistence that Howard MUST be thinking how freaky looking he is when they first meet. In order to try and counterbalance the fact that he hates how he looks, he attempts to compensate by trying to find ways that would make him seem plausibly not horrific. One of these tricks, and the most prominent, is that Gregg seems to identify himself as female over male, despite his male traits clearly being the predominant ones. After kidnapping Howard Moon, he continuously sets Howard up as the “male” in the relationship he imagines the two of them having. On the other hand, it’s worth noting that Gregg refers to himself as “he” when he doesn’t simply talk about himself in the third person.

Another way Gregg tries to forget his loneliness is by collecting frivolous crap he can find. These include a rather large rock (which he attempted to pass on to Howard, clearly believing he would cherish something like that as much as he did) and other assorted trash. His most prized possessions, however, are his watercolors, which include various self-portraits of himself and portraits of Bailey’s Irish Cream, including one entitled “Bailey’s as Close Up as You Can Get Without Getting Your Eye Wet”, which is simply a blank sheet of cream paper. As this demonstrates, he has a fascination with Bailey’s, which could point to the possibility that he’s an alcoholic as well. On the other hand, considering his anatomy, there’s a chance that he just likes the taste. Who knows. He’s a crazy fish person.

Contact Info: AIM: lunahrabbit
Other Characters Played: N/A
Preferred Housing: N/A

Character Name: Archer (Shirou Emiya)
Character Series: Fate/Stay Night
Character Age: Never stated but appears to be in his late thirties
Background: Wiki link
Personality: Archer is not a nice person. His view point is cynical, and it's not hard to see why. Archer's history is one of betrayal. Originally when he was younger, Archer desired to be a hero of justice. He strove with all of his might to live up to that ideal. One day in order to save a vast number of people, he made a deal with the world. In return for power, he would eventually serve the world after his death. Eventually after fighting to end a war, he was judged as having been the mastermind behind it and was executed.

After his death he was forced to serve as a Counter Guardian. Whenever there was a crisis, he was summoned and forced to end the crisis by whatever means necessary. Time and time again, he was forced to sacrifice one life to save another. He abandoned his ideal of a hero of justice, and he carried his work out with a ruthless efficiency.

However despite the fact that he became cynical and swore to forsake his ideal of becoming a hero of justice, he ultimately could not shake it. He is willing to warn enemies of an accidental blow coming their way, as seen in his fight with Caster. He's still willing to fight to the death if it means he can save someone. He has no problem throwing his life to the side if it means he can save even one person.

Archer is a man without limits, and if he has them then he doesn't know them. In order to achieve a goal, he'll take of any safety measure and do what it takes. In magecraft, pushing oneself tends to destroy the body. While Archer is only in his late twenties, it's evident that pushing himself to his limits with magecraft has taken its toll. Once fair skinned and with red hair, his skin has become tan and his hair bleached white. His body stands as a testament of how far he was willing to pursue his ideals.

Archer doesn't hold qualities like honor in very high In fact he often derides those that carry honor and pride into battle. To Archer, the end result is all that matters. When he was trying to live up to his ideal of being a hero of justice, he gladly sacrificed his honor and dignity if it meant that he could save more people. To him pride, honor, and dignity are all things that can lead to death on the battlefield.

Abilities: Archer is a Heroic Spirit, that is to say a hero who ascended to a higher plane of existence upon their death. Normally they can not be summoned to this world, but through the power of the Holy Grail they can be brought into the world. The Holy Grail supplies the massive amount of prana, also known as magical energy, and the Master summons them. The Heroic Spirit then becomes the Servant of the Master, and together they fight to obtain the Holy Grail. The Master supplies prana to their Servant which sustains them, and in return the Servant fights for the Master. Their contract is represented by three marks on the Master's hand. These marks are known as the Command Spell. The Master can use a Command Spell in order to force the Servant to obey a command that they usually wouldn't obey. Command Spells can also be used to break the laws of physics. For example of a Servant and a Master are separated by a great distance such as several miles, the Master can use a Command Spell and order the Servant to come. Rather than having to travel the distance, the Command Spell will distort the space time continuum and instantly bring the Servant to the Master.

Being a Heroic Spirit, Archer is significantly different than a normal human being. Most Heroic Spirits are incredibly strong and swift, being able to break bones with a single blow or leap dozens of feet into the air from a standstill. Even some of the weaker Servants have been shown to be able to break concrete with just their bare hands. Archer is no exception. Sevants also have the ability to go intangible. This is useful for numerous reasons. For one it uses up less energy as he does not have to project a physical body. Second he cannot be seen by the naked eye, although he can still be detected by other means.

Archer is a user of magecraft, specifically reinforcement and projection. Using reinforcement, he is able to strengthen an object of his choosing, although too much reinforcement will destroy the object. By using projection Archer can use prana to manifest any object he can think of, although incomplete knowledge of an object will cause the projected object to be flawed.

Each Servant has a Noble Phantasm which is a representation of the hero. For most Servants this is a weapon or special technique, but Archer is somewhat different. Archer has something known as a Reality Marble. Essentially a Reality Marble allows Archer's inner world to be projected onto the real world. A Reality Marble seals in everyone inside it, and nobody can enter or exit it until the Marble is dissipated. Archer's Reality Marble is known as Unlimited Blade Works. The inside of the marble is a barren wasteland riddled with swords. Every single weapon that Archer has seen has been analyzed and stored in this Reality Marble. This allows him to project any one of them at a moment's notice. No matter how much he studies a weapon, his reproduction will not be on the same level as the original. Modern weapons such as tanks and guns are excluded from the Reality Marble. Defensive armaments like shields can be projected but at a greater cost. Sustaining the entire Realtiy Marble and projecting it onto the real world takes tremendous amounts of magical energy and therefore can only be done for a few minutes at a time.

In addition to all of this, Archer has numerous minor abilities. He has a slight resistance to magical attacks that allows him to brush off weak spells. As an Archer, his vision is superb and he can see things from far away. At one point he is able to shoot an arrow with almost pinpoint accuracy from a great distance. Having spent the majority of fighting, his combat instincts are supurb. No matter how grim the situation, Archer is capable of calmly thinking things through logically in order to ensure the best possible outcome.

Character Name: Ragna the Bloodedge
Character Series: Blazblue
Character Age: Somewhere around the 20s, Canon's vague about it.
Background: Here

Personality:

Ragna the Bloodedge, one of the most feared bounty to ever walk on his world. Obviously, he must have a personality to match the reputation, which he does. Ragna can be seen as quite an imposing figure from a distance, but if you see him up close, he's a more of a gruff man who probably has a frown on his face half the time. And true to the frown, he is often the poster boy for 'not really a guy you want to hang out with'. He either throws insults at you during fights in the game, a prime example being Noel as some of his battle quotes involved taunting her 'flatness', so to speak, interestingly, Ragna is often the target of several insults himself, and is easily pissed off when said insults are used; this is often Ragna's biggest flaw as getting riled up means that it'll open a lot of openings.

However, that same person (Noel), has made Ragna show another side of him, that side he will refuse to admit to ever exist: Kindness; And well, big brotherly instincts. Then again, judging from the fact that Noel is a clone of his dead sister, it might have been his subconscious instincts coming up whenever he is with her. He also was seen giving out some speeches that helps a character overcomes a hurdle he was facing; in this case, this happened in Jin's story mode where Jin was unable to activate Yukianesa, which further stamps out the fact that despite his brother wanting to kill him, he still shows that he cares about him, albeit being all gruff about it.

In battle, Ragna tends to focus more on defeating the enemy as quick as he can, so as to not cause any ruckus, which would get him into more trouble, considering his reputation with the authority and some members of them, this gives him enough reason to not prolong a battle, which really explains parts of his fighting strategy, which are mainly 'ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK'. Speaking of battles, Ragna also tends to use his Azure Grimoire [Power-up technique of his, by the way] if the battle really gets heated, or if he's in extreme anger, even when its not working; which happened when he confronted Hazama.

Contrary to popular beliefs of video game heroes mostly not being able to cook a meal for himself, Ragna actually enjoys cooking and tends to do it in his spare time and when no one is seeing, because its kinda embarrassing for an outlaw like him to be caught cooking dishes when not destroying the Library. There, is also, one more thing to know regarding Ragna; he's really afraid of ghosts, the joke ending in CS, in fact, hammers this down when he became a ghost in a vivid dream of his, freaking out massively when pointed out the fact that he is now, indeed, a ghost.

Abilities:
-Dhampir: He is a half-vampire, half-human, has the advantages of being a vampire and little to no disadvantage, but he never uses it much in canon anyways.
-Azure Grimoire: One of his artificial hands, it stores an immense power of darkness, which, when left unchecked, may consume Ragna and cause apocalypse as we know it.

All the other things he pulls in his canon is just his fighting skills, no more, and no less.

Character Name: KAITO
Character Series: Vocaloid
Character Age: 25
Background:
Kaito was the second VOCALOID, created by Crypton Future Media company, two years after Meiko. He's not actually a living person, but a voice synthesizer program robot, which is used for communication and entertainment. After his voice recording, the company decided to create a full appearance for Kaito, which is as he looks on his package. Unfortunately, when he and Meiko were published, their sales didn’t do well, and the company considered both to be failures.

After a year of absence, the company created the 2nd generation of VOCALOID, and Kaito welcomed the birth of Hatsune Miku. Surprisingly, she did a much better job than Kaito and Meiko. Her sales went over the top, becoming the most popular idol in VOCALOID history. Although he knew they were on different levels of stardom, Kaito was very proud of her. Due to Miku's popularity, she was kept busy with her songs and had no chance to spend time with the older Vocaloids.

Until one day, Miku sent a made up song through the internet with the title, 'A Request From Hatsune'. The contents of the song contained a line of lyrics that wondered, "Where are you and what are you doing now?" Kaito, who had been watching her from time to time, answered her with a song titled 'An Answer To Hatsune Miku'. "I was eating ice cream," he replied through his song. The last words of his bouncy tune were, "Miku, let's eat it together next time."

This is where the Kaito’s fate changed.

The request and reply songs caught the company’s attention. It was clear Miku was lonely. They called Kaito to the studio and granted him permission to sing again. Kaito was unbelievably happy for these turn of events. After he released a few songs, his sales went up twice as before. He gradually became the most popular male Vocaloid among the fans. He couldn't thank Miku enough for her help in boosting his popularity. Miku was simply relieved to have Kaito by her side. They even began to sing duets together, such as 'Cantarella', which became one of Kaito’s best and most popular songs.

His journey had just started when he found himself greeting the newest Vocaloids: the feisty Kagamine twins, Rin and Len. They were adorable, but at the same time they were quite troublesome. Two years later, Megurine Luka was created. As they gained more Vocaloids into their group, Kaito began to realize his job wasn't limited to singing. It was also his responsibility to take care of everyone. It’s a job he shares with Meiko, who thankfully helps him out.

Although they aren't blood related siblings, he considers all the Crypton Vocaloids his family.

Character Name: Ash Ketchum
Character Series: Pokémon: Best Wishes!
Character Age: 10 (At least 4 years have passed since he turned 10, but apparently he hasn’t aged...)
Background: Ash Ketchum, one of the greatest Pokémon trainers to ever come from the Kanto region. He has competed in several regional league competitions with admirable results in each. From humble beginnings in Pallet Town, he received his first Pokémon, a Pikachu, by accident after oversleeping and missing out on all the other options. Regardless, he went out into the world, along with companions Misty and Brock as he travelled the lands of Kanto and Johto, as well as former Pokémon Watcher Tracey Sketchit during a brief detour to the Orange Islands.

As family commitments came up for Misty, Ash and Brock continued on through the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions, along with new companions May and Max in Hoenn and Dawn of Twinleaf Town in Sinnoh. Having come in the top four for the Sinnoh League tournament, Ash and his friends decided to part ways as they found new paths for their journeys to follow.

After arriving at home in Pallet Town, he and his mother were soon invited on a trip to the Unova region by family friend Professor Samuel Oak. Originally intending on merely going on vacation, the various exotic Pokémon in Isshu made Ash decide to stay and challenge the local league.

As he heads into Unova, he meets new companions Iris from the Dragon Village, who dreams of being a Dragon Master, and Cilan of the Striaton City Gym, an accomplished Pokémon Connoisseur while catching a slew of new Pokémon. Making plenty of new friends and rivals along the way, Ash gains all the necessary badges for the Unova league. ... Unfortunately, he has to wait another three months before the tournament begins.

Personality: Ash is well known for being cheerful and upbeat. His ultimate goal since childhood has been to become the number one Pokémon Master the world has ever seen. He sometimes has a bit of a one track mind, which can often lead to disaster, however most of the time he's rather accommodating, perhaps a little too much so, which often leaves him sidetracked helping random people he meets. This can sometimes get him in incredibly sticky situations, especially when in conjunction with his complete inability to see through even the most flimsy disguises employed by the Team Rocket agents who continue to try stealing his Pikachu at any possible opportunity.

Depending on how his recent luck has been in general, he can occasionally get a bit too overconfident in his own abilities after a good streak, sometimes resulting in downright arrogance towards others. While on the other end of the spectrum, a devastating loss can result in him being down in the dumps, the most notable case of this being just after his loss against Ritchie at the Indigo Plateau. However, his indomitable drive always manages to pull through in the end allowing him to get back on track more focused than ever.

Over time, he has had to deal with quite a number of rivals, such as Gary Oak, Paul, Nando, Conway, Trip, Bianca, Steven Stephan and various others. Each one testing him in different ways, he is able to strategise and adapt to compensate for all kinds of battle styles, such as with the “Counter Shield” he created to keep the Ghost-type Pokémon of Fantina’s, the Hearthome City Gym Leader, at a distance.

Always eager for a Pokémon battle against tough opponents, Ash will train diligently in order to raise both himself and his Pokémon as he travels the land gaining strength and wisdom to be able to truly master the art of Pokémon battle. He is also incredibly stubborn. He has strong beliefs in how one should train their Pokémon and won’t hesitate to call someone out on doing the wrong thing, particularly with recent rival Paul in the Sinnoh region. Ash refuses to believe in the concept that there are “weak Pokémon” and “strong Pokémon” and considers all of them all to be individuals of equal value.

He likes to try and let each Pokémon he trains reach its maximum potential, even if it means letting them free to take a different path like his Primeape at the P-1 Tournament or his Charizard in the Charicific Valley. When he feels that a Pokémon has reached its full potential, he may leave it at home at Professor Oak's lab so as to allow himself to grow more alongside a new set of partners with as of yet unknown potential. The notable exception to this is his best friend Pikachu, which has been his constant companion ever since he first left home.

Abilities: He's good at training Pokeymanz? Possibly resistant to electric shocks.

Character Name: Hanyuu (Furude), Oyashiro-sama
Character Series: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
Character Age: Hundreds of years old. Appears somewhere between 10-13-ish

Background: Wikipedia | Wikia

Personality: By looking at her, it's hard to tell Hanyuu is really the local homicidal deity behind the rumored Hinamizawa Syndrome. Especially with her moe personality that has become her trademark. She's very shy and rather not show herself unless she has to, even then, it is probably only to Rika and Takano. Everyone else just gets the feeling of being watched up until their imitate deaths. She just happens to have a knack to follow those who are about to crack from paranoia.

Later on, however, when posing as Rika's distant cousin, everyone in Rika's group of friends immediately likes her. And quickly take to her like she was already there. You could say that it's almost like she was always been attending the school. This pretty much gives her the creeps; especially with the constant hugs and countless attempts to be taken home she usually ends up getting. But, she likes them just the way they are.

Hanyuu has a lot of guilt weighing down on her. She feels sorry for all the constant bad ends and subsequent resets she’s put Rika and her friends through. She also curses her helplessness when things start to go awry. Even in her human form she's useless. The only thing she can do is rewind the timeline a few weeks, but even then, if nothing happens to change the timeline, the endless cycle of dying will never end. Not to mention, it may become permanent if she loses her power to turn back time, or if the time she skips back to happens to be too close to the date of Rika's death.

Hanyuu's easily frightened and scared and whimpers her signature "Hau hau, auauau!" when upset. Since she is Oyashiro-sama, or perhaps just a human sacrifice turned a god, she sometimes has a malevolent side to her. When she’s angry, her voice matures and her eyes glow red. She is fully capable of pulling this off in both her "human" for as well as her "god" form. But to hide her true self from everyone else, she just tells them that she's really good at sounding scary. And surprisingly, everyone believes this. But that could just be chalked up to the whole Superman/Clark Kent thing she has going for her.

Abilities: She's apparently the human manifestation of a god. So she has godlike powers but doesn't use them unless she is really angry. She can time travel, but her power is limited and is now fading due to all of Rika's bad ends. She also has horns, but it's not like anyone notices them. She can also do all those normal ghosty things such as levitate and phase through things.

His death came near the conclusion of a trial in which he nearly had the Yatagarasu cornered, but the witness on the stand accused him of being the thief, and the trial was suspended while a new prosecutor was assigned. In the interim, he and the witness were killed by the defense attorney assigned to the case, a woman named Calisto Yew, who also claimed to be the real Yatagarasu.

This was also the day Kay met Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth for the first time. He was assigned as the replacement prosecutor for the case, which never ended up happening, as Yew was fingered as the killer before the trial had the chance to reconvene. Kay met Edgeworth as he was looking around the courtroom for clues as to who had murdered her father. Kay was crushed by the death of her father, but at the same time managed to form a close friendship with Edgeworth, Detective Gumshoe, and Franziska von Karma, all of whom were present for the events of that day.

Ten years passed between that case and the next time Edgeworth saw Kay. In the meantime, she had discovered that her father was actually the Yatagarasu - a claim that was backed up by a device in his possession that was left to her after his death, as well as extensive notes on his activities as the thief. She called the device "Little Thief," a small projector with the ability to create realistic life-sized holograms of any area as long as its user is able to input accurate data about what the scene looks like. She met back up with Edgeworth at an amusement park, where the prosecutor had been taken hostage. She helped him escape and to solve the case, going on to become his sidekick in the case that would put the mystery of the Yatagarasu to rest for good.

Edgeworth and Kay parted ways after that case, but the two promised to remain friends, and Kay decided she would continue to use her talents and knowledge as the Yatagarasu to steal only the truth and bring down corruption anywhere it happened to reveal its ugly head. She did so out of respect for both her dead father, as well as her new friend the noble prosecutor.

Personality: Kay is a spunky girl with a strong independent streak and a bit of a temper. She makes friends very easily, due to her honest and open personality (it only took about a 5 minute conversation with Gumshoe before the two were sharing swiss rolls). She prefers to act first and ask questions later, which often conflicts with Edgeworth's calm and collected way of investigating cases step by step and with logic. She bills herself as a "Great Thief," but it honestly seems more like what she really wants to be is a ninja, as she is constantly sneaking about, jumping through windows, and generally behaving more like a character from a movie than an actual thief.

Despite actively billing herself as the Yatagarasu, Kay has a very strong sense of justice, perhaps imparted to her by the lessons of her prosecutor father. He taught her lots of things about how to deal with people and when to be careful, and she has taken all of these lessons to heart during her development into a young lady. She even still has the father/daughter journal the two kept together, with all of his "rules" for how she should behave on her own. She believes whole-heartedly that her father's mission was one worthy of respect, and wants to fight corruption and evil from the shadows.

Underneath all of her (semi-)secretive activities as the Yatagarasu, Kay is very much a normal teenage girl. She loves amusement parks, shopping, clothes, music, and is a big fan of all sorts of pop culture icons. She is especially fond of the Blue Badger family and the Jammin' Ninja, and seems to hold some sort of grudging respect for the Steel Samurai, despite the fact that he is a hero of justice who hunts down criminals, villains, and thieves like herself.

Kay's best quality is that she never gives up, no matter the odds. Even after finding out that her father was involved in some shady dealings, she never stopped believing in the man who raised her. She cheered Edgeworth and Franziska on when their investigations hit dead ends and seemed truly hopeless. She always encourages Detective Gumshoe, no matter how badly he screws up. All in all, she is just as full of hope and passion as she is spunk and confidence, and she seems to have an odd way of instilling these qualities in everyone she meets.

Abilities: Kay has no supernatural abilities of her own. She is an athletic teenage girl who has clearly trained for years to live up to her father's legacy, but all of that is simply the result of hard work on her part. The only thing she owns that borders on supernatural capability is Little Thief.

Background: Wikipedia article on Hetalia

irl history/timelines 1 2 3 (the last link is the most concise and comprehensive) | drama CD translation | comic appearances (incomplete) | tvtropes (ctrl+f Taiwan)

Personality:

In between being at constant gunpoint and a crisis of identity and diplomacy, Taiwan has little time to sulk. When she has a thousand irons to pull out of the fire, you don't hear her whining. Winners don't whine. She can't show anyone any weaknesses, you know. She simply can't afford to be sad! This is why Taiwan has this easygoing, upbeat attitude about, well, everything. No matter what life throws at her, she'll just take it in stride. One thing at a time! Worrying too much makes you too stressed, too old. It's too troublesome. Anyway, why worry? She has no time for that! She still has to come out strong, even stronger. When she loses focus and loses hope, it'll be all over. Luck hasn't been on her side for some time, though, and you can't see it on her face, but she doesn't enjoy it in the least. In fact, she dislikes being surrounded by negativity. Anything that tries to pull her down will get a well-deserved roundhouse kick. She says it herself - she doesn't believe in bad fortunes. Everything will be okay, she knows it!

Taiwan is a sweet, cheerful girl who is always full of energy. Having been dragged around by the nation as fast as her legs could carry her to get to a photo studio, Vietnam can attest to that. She is the Taiwan has a very positive outlook on life: in one comic strip, she says, "The Taiwanese don't believe in bad fortunes!" Or a more accurate translation on my part: "The Taiwanese don't believe in bad results!" She looks at the brighter side of things even when they are turning out for the worse. When Japan gets a bad fortune himself, brimming with optimism, she tells Japan that, well, they can just forget about it, you know, and try again next time! Anything depressing rarely gets her down.

... Unless they're Asian dramas, those are the saddest. Although not as dramatic as Korea or neurotic as Japan or China, Taiwan can be emotionally impulsive and capricious. Taiwan is often quick to react when someone provokes her and her actions are often juvenile in doing so, but forgets whatever transpired just as fast afterwards. On the rare event that she does feel sad, it won't take too long before she jumps back up on her feet. Sometimes people wonder if her speedy recoveries do happen as fast as they seem. When constantly in a sticky situation, remaining optimistic and cheerful as usual without holding any grudges is just the less stressful thing to do. It's what gets her through her days.

The small island nation doesn't sweat about the little things and think of plans for the long haul - it comes with her carefree nature. This leads to occasional recklessness and clumsiness. Yeah, no, she is the epitome of grace. Also, pigs can fly. She's very feminine and girly, but a little rough around the edges and not exactly ladylike in manners. In the comics, she uses assertive and masculine sentence enders in Japanese, which give her speech an enthusiastic and energetic feel. So she's not the perfect bride she appears to be, but that's okay, she's painfully adorable. She uses onomatopoeia, contracts words to make them catchier - all in all, her speech and mannerisms are what most people call cute. Even when she uses that occasionally sharp tongue on them.

In spite of political issues and controversy, Taiwan is an easygoing girl. In the April Fool's 2011 strips, when someone attempts to blackmail her into wearing a dress with an embarrassing photo of herself, their plan is thwarted when she laughs it off and comments, "It's a well-taken photo!" She doesn't sweat about the small things and lives life one day at a time. That doesn't mean she's lazy, though. It's quite the contrary - she values hard work and ambition and is very earnest with everything she does. She's got to be - she has big dreams! And to reach her goals, she's got to put in a lot of effort and have a lot of patience! She still gets mad when the mail doesn't arrive in time.

Peace and quiet is something Taiwan appreciates very much, but during peacetime, things can get boring, you know? So she drags her friends around town have a little fun, goes to a new restaurant to pig out in and finds the strangest aspects in the most mundane things. Fun, in fact, gets her mind off most things. Taiwan is into fashion, music, gossip - she is very trendy and up to date with the latest fads and happenings, but this also means that she tends to get bored of things easily. That might possibly explain her tastes and brand of eccentricity... which share an uncanny resemblance to Japan's. She hates the monotony of everyday life and tries to make each day a little more special than the next. It's always fun being with Taiwan! Unless she's sitting at home watching a sappy Rainie Yang drama for the umpteeth time, crying her eyes out and asking for another tissue to blow her nose with when Show Luo's character tugs at her heartstrings. She loves living vicariously through stories and often sticks her nose in other people's business. No, she doesn't mean any harm by it. Yes, she has nothing else better to do.

But when Taiwan helps you, it's not out of boredom, nope. While it's true that there are benefits that come with giving and giving, she is generous when it comes to gifts. While she does have a lot to give, she also lives by the principle of giving back tenfold what was given to her. Even if the person has done only one small thing for her, she'll remember it. She'll keep it to heart and return the favor someday - it'll be even bigger and better! This nature of hers is also because she gives importance to harmonious relationships and she likes making people happy. This way, she'll get a lot of friends! It would help if no nation was stopping them from approaching her.

Because of this, there are times when Taiwan gets bouts of loneliness and insecurity. Though usually honest and frank, she hides those little feelings behind her smile. It doesn't mean that her cheerfulness is fake - it's only better to move on than dwell on things like that. Besides, a smile always looks better than a frown. She smiles, even at strangers. She is often shy with them, but that's natural. What doesn't come naturally to her is how she musters up the courage to speak to them. It's a little difficult, but she understands how important it is to have friends because of her political situation and is always willing to make more. She wishes she was more popular so that the whole ordeal would be a lot simpler.

She won't ever let those thought get her down, though. As easygoing as she may be, she's a strong-willed girl when it counts. It's to the point where she is stubborn to a fault - she asserts herself to the best of her abilities and haggles and will stop at nothing to get what she wants if she knows it's good for her. This gets her out of depressing situations! Unfortunately, when coupled with her childishness and temerity, it also gets her in a lot of trouble. She's capricious in her half-baked decisions, in other words, she doesn't think things through and often changes her mind. There are a few things she has her mind set on, though - being recognized by everyone as more than the little island off China's coast and being able to stand on her own without anyone's help.

Abilities:

A nation isn't a concrete, tangible idea - it is an institution, a people. Thus, while Taiwan can be harmed by physical means, their effects don't last as long as they would on a human - a paper cut would take a significantly faster time to heal. Even so, there are other means by which she can experience negative effects - economic problems make her ill and war causes her skin to wound and scar. Nothing can truly kill her except the death of the concept of the state she represents.

Taiwan appears to be physically stronger than the average nation. In canon, she accidentally causes more harm than help to China by popping one of his joints back in place.

She is also capable of super optimism and sunshine happy rainbows.

Character Name: Hong Kong. Human name: Jialong Wang.
Character Series: Axis Powers Hetalia
Character Age: Really in his hundreds but appears to be around 18.
Background: His Hetalia wiki page & history of Hong Kong itself
Personality: Upon first meeting Hong Kong, many might question whether he actually possesses one of these. He is described by Himaruya as being the sort of person that you can never tell what they're thinking. Normal displays of emotion seem to avoid this guy.

Don’t be lead into thinking he’s shy or timid though, first impressions aren’t all that they seem and Hong Kong actually possesses a remarkable amount of arrogance. Being such a forefronting world power in the likes of finance and business and having become so in such a remarkably short time, perhaps this is understandable. Couple this confidence with cynicism and a love of making snarky comments and you could have a right troll on your hands. He's also far from the quiet, contented type that he might appear and he doesn't hesitate to antagonise and troll intimidating characters such as Russia, clearly illustrating a lack of fear to some extent.

Unless you know him quite well, Hong Kong prefers to only open his mouth to say something cutting, rain on your parade and undermine you just a little. This is ideally illustrated in Hetalia Fantasia when China explains the importance of earning money in America’s online game to avoid troublesome situations, only to receive a comment from Hong Kong, pointing out that it would have been entirely less troublesome to not play at all. Then followed by a response to Russia’s “life is troublesome” comment, with a request to use that little piece of wisdom in a joke. Annoying, perhaps, but having been shuffled back and forth between China and the UK and even a couple of years under Japan’s control, it isn’t really surprising that maybe Hong Kong has become quietly a little bit cynical of the other nations and their affairs.

Character Name: Nagi Kengamine
Character Series: Deadman Wonderland
Character Age: Mid/late thirties
Background: Stealing from my own old app.
Personality: Copypasting and editing from the old app...

Perhaps the most depressing part about Nagi's incredibly depressing life is that all the terrible things he's endured couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! Despite all the horror and death he's endured during his stay in Deadman Wonderland, Nagi remains an incredibly kind and compassionate person who, like Ganta after him, has managed to retain his honor and integrity even in a horrible fucked-up place like Deadman Wonderland. This is no easy feat!

Part of that is because unlike most of the other prisoners, as Nagi explains himself, he has something to fight for: the hope of seeing his child again and, after that, his friends in Scar Chain. Having experienced pain and loss himself, Nagi knows exactly how to empathize with those in pain or trouble: he's happy to rescue Minatsuki and spare Ganta the guilt of having put her in danger, and even jokes a little in order to raise the boy's spirits. He serves as something of a fatherly figure to Ganta and Shiro despite only knowing them for a short while- this attitude is likely an extension of his own past familial troubles. This isn't to suggest that Nagi would never hurt a child, though; he's all smiles and kindness towards Hibana until he realizes she's an Undertaker, at which point he stops giving a fuck about her as anything but an enemy to be killed.

His crooked smile and lackadaisical attitude may make him seem like he isn't taking things seriously, but make no mistake about it- Nagi is a confident and inspiring leader whose cheerful demeanor puts his friends and allies at ease. He fervently believes in the power of teamwork and group struggle, and most if not all of the members of Scar Chain were willing to give their lives for the hope that he offered them. Nagi's leadership style is very much hands-on, lead from the front, one-of-the-guys; he hides his own talent for leadership beneath an air of friendliness and self-deprecation that makes him seem like an ordinary shmuck who's just doing the job because no one else will.

Despite being something of an authority figure himself, Nagi is pretty textbook Chaotic Good! Scar Chain's founding philosophies are a reflection of his own: that every man and woman should be allowed to pursue their own personal definition of "freedom" and live their lives however they wish to. While he's smart enough to know that people's desires often clash, and that there's a reason for having rules, Nagi pretty basically believes that people should be allowed to be who they want without interference. He's fairly reasonable and can tell the difference between a tyrant and a just leader, but Nagi has an instinctive distrust for authority and law; being thrown in prison for presumably no reason and forced to watch your wife's murder for the boss's entertainment kinda leaves you with some authority issues.

When he's not giving speeches about hope or leading assaults on terrible prisons, Nagi is a surprisingly simple guy. His title of "Owl" couldn't be more appropriate: he's a wise, mature, serene man with a preference for quiet and calm places and hobbies. He wears sandals, keeps his hair messy, and generally just wants to live a happy life somewhere with a small family. That dream having been denied to him, he's willing to fight until he can obtain it, but war and death are less of a joy for him than a necessary evil. Basically, he's a giant hippie. His wooden sandals speak to someone who's very traditionally and spiritually Japanese.

Character Name: Claire Redfield
Character Series: Resident Evil
Character Age: 19
Background: I can write up a background in my own words, if needed. A lot of it is included with the personality though, so I figured just a link to her wiki page would suffice.

Personality: Claire is quite a compassionate and kind girl. She looks out for her friends and family, even going through multiple dangerous scenarios just to find her missing brother, Chris. During the Raccoon City outbreak, Claire found herself in the middle of a literal city of the dead, where most of the inhabitants had been turned into zombies. Claire didn't turn away, but instead was determined to find her brother amongst the chaos. Claire is rather selfless, and does what she can to help those in need. Even though she didn't know the girl, Claire went out of her way to save and help young Sherry Birkin. She put her life in danger to protect the girl, even after Sherry had run away from her multiple times in fear. Claire was shown to be patient with Sherry and never abandoned her. She was able to keep the the little girl safe until they got out of the city, and even gave Sherry her jacket as a gift. In addition, Claire showed concern for the companions she made in her search for Chris. She met Leon Kennedy in Raccoon City and made sure both he and Sherry escaped with her.

On Rockfort Island, where Claire had been imprisoned during her search for Chris, she met Rodrigo Juan Raval. Despite being the man who captured her, Rodrigo set Claire free after the island was bombed and another outbreak of zombies was set loose. She owed nothing to the man, considering he had been the one who had gotten her into this mess, but still Claire sought out medicine for the wounds the man had received. She made sure he was safe, even leaving her lighter with him for good luck. Later, despite finding him annoying at first, Claire eventually formed a bond with Steve Burnside, and the two began to try and escape the island together. Even though she only knew him for a short amount of time, Claire cried as Steve died in her arms. It is undeniable that the girl has a big heart.

Character Age: Looks like he’s in his late 20’s but is much older than that as he is the country of Cuba.

Background:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Cuba
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Cuban_history
http://hetalia.wikinet.org/wiki/Cuba

Cuba will be taken from 2012

Personality:

Cuba is a very cheerful person and is usually seen with a smile on his face. He’s generally an easygoing and happy nation. He has an outgoing personality and is very friendly. Even with nations like Switzerland who aren't very social at all. He’s a people person when it all comes down to it. There is one large exception to this rule and that is America. Cuba has a horrible relationship with America and while with everyone else he’s friendly and cheerful. With America his default mode is to hurl insults at him and possibly punches. Spain is another tricky subject but that's also because of their past. He'll insult Spain, but won't punch him and actually does care what happens to him. Unlike America.

Cuba has a weakness for ice-cream that has lead to him getting a little out of shape but he can’t help it. He just enjoys eating it too much and he enjoys sharing it with his friends, like Canada. Ice cream is something that can be added to all meals and it also makes a handy apology gift when you attack your best friend. He is also seen smoking a cigar a lot so it’s clear that he has a weakness for them as well.
Also tacky t-shirts, but that's just his style.

Cuba is a very determined nation. Every obstacle that he comes across he is going to overcome it somehow. He’s faced a lot of hard times in his lands and has had to work very hard to get out of them. The revolution is one of these, and over throwing the Spanish rule before that. His people wanted independence and Cuba worked hard to get them that. Aside from his temper when it comes to America, Cuba is a patient nation. If he wants something, he’ll wait patiently till he can get it. After losing the Soviet Union as their key trading partner Cuba went through an incredibly hard period of time. From this he became even more determined and hard working then before. He puts his people first and works hard to make sure they don’t starve. He’s seen a lot more hardship now and while he’s still a generally cheery person, seeing all that made him a little more serious than before. It's all in his history. He's a pretty small island that faced down the much larger, powerful America. There is little he won't do to help his people.

His temper is something of a blind spot. Whenever he sees’ America for example, his usual reaction is to start yelling at him. In fact his temper blinds him so much that he frequently mistakes Canada for his brother America and attacks him. Which he immediately feels sorry for; after he figures it out that it isn’t America that is. But his temper with America is something that he can’t control. There are few others that would enact such a response from him. He’s a nice person though and whenever he mistakes Canada for his brother he always tries to make it up to him.

His relations with America have gotten better over the years but he still has a sore spot for the “bastard”, especially since there is still the trade embargo on him. But he’s less likely to start yelling at him then he might have years ago. He can be a bit random at times, yelling at Germany that Germany should be able to teleport if he tried harder. And doing "Dynamic Yoga" with Canada. He has a tendency to be dramatic at times as well.

Abilities: Just a nation.

Character Name: Akaya Kirihara
Character Series: The Prince of Tennis
Character Age: 14
Background: Akaya

Personality:

Akaya is a brat, to put it simply. He’s the type that seems to only care about himself and his ego. He’s rather confident in himself and likes to brag with his abilities when he has a chance. He can really seem like an arrogant and annoying kid to some. He also has a bad temper. Say something annoying to him and he’s already growling or yelling right back at you. He enjoys annoying people, but doesn’t enjoy being annoyed.

His quick temper also causes him to go berserk, especially on tennis matches, as it triggers a condition called “bloodshot”. It removes a bit of restraints of how violent he can act in his anger. The bloodshot can develop into the devil mode (usually when exposed to violence and insults at the same time), when he can’t control much of what he’s doing anymore. It’s pretty bad for his mental health.

Winning is a really important thing to him. In tennis he seeks to be number one. In order to win he would do almost anything and he doesn’t feel sorry at all for those who get injured in the way. Each victory makes him more confident and the ones he won will have to deal with him making fun of them. Each loss makes him annoyed and the ones who won against him will be challenged again. He’s a really bad loser who usually yells in frustration or throws things. He’s also been known to run away when faced with total defeat. At these times he trains alone to overcome the wall that has been set in front of him. He pushes himself over his limits and lets nothing disturb him.

His team has also made winning a top priority. The rule is not to lose which everyone has to obey, even in practice matches. When you lose, you get punished and that’s also left a “I must not lose” feeling on Akayas mind, even if he “can’t lose” because of his own pride either. He’s determined to become the number one player in Japan and because of that he can’t afford to lose to anyone.

Even if it’s mostly hidden under Akaya’s arrogance, he’s actually a good kid. Whenever he’s not really getting annoyed or annoying someone he’s cheerful and quite social. He even apologizes for his mistakes if he does them (like bumping into someone) and helps his friends out (even if he might complain if he’s being a gopher, but he does it anyway). He gets also pretty excited about a lot of things and lives his life to fullest.

Akaya’s also rather gullible, even if he might say he’s not. It’s easy to make him fall to tricks or believe in some made-up stories. While he might say “that’s not possible!” he’s at the same watching his surroundings and being more aware of things just in case something happens. Anything that might be implied as part of the story will be processed as such is his mind and he freaks out and apologizes for not believing.

Abilities: N/A

I’ve settled in now. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be... just super annoying! [Akaya is sounding much better than he was when he first arrived. No annoyance or panic in his voice... but it’s been replaced with a tone of boredom.] But now I have no idea what to do.

I guess I could get myself some video games, since I left my old ones at home, obviously. Which is sort of annoying, since I was just about to get to the final boss in one of them! [Annoyance, there it is again. At least momentarily.] Any good places to get them?

Character Name: Agent Maine/The Meta ((Maksim Zolnerowich, lacks name in canon))
Character Series: Red vs. Blue
Character Age: 37-42
Background: http://rvb.wikia.com/wiki/Meta

Personality: Agent Maine himself could very easily be described as the strong, silent type. Besides being built like a bear with the endurance of a tank, during the span of episodes that he still has his voice he utters a grand total of six words ("Get off me", "Too high", and "Thanks"). Somewhat before, and definitely afterwards, he communicates mostly through verbal grunts and growls and body language.

He's competitive, as the Project probably trained him to be. While he was adept with working with team on an actual mission, during the training session with Texas it was clear he was out for himself. When York attempted to talk strategy with Maine and Wyoming, Maine took off first, completely disregarding anything York said.

And even though as Meta the AIs had degraded him to a point of team-killing, I think there's still something to be said about loyalty to those he considers team; there was more then one moment when Meta had the chance to outright kill Washington, but didn't. First, there was a moment when he had a perfectly clear shot lined up during a moment when he was using the time distortion enhancement and had Washington moving at a snail's pace. Instead of taking the shot, he hesitated just long enough that the enhancement shorted and he had to make his escape. The second time was when the Director had ordered him to kill Washington, and instead of shooting him in the heart or the head, he chose a non-vital area. How much of this was Maine influencing the AIs is unknown at this point, but I think it's a worthy point to make.

As Meta without the AIs, he would be constantly at odds with himself; easily agitated, violent, and single-minded if he ever got wind of an AI. A separate note must be made for Meta out of armor, because at that point it is the closest to Maine that he'll ever get. Meta is the conglomeration of the AIs (or the drive to acquire them), the Armor, and the man. Without the AIs or the armor, Maine is at his most vulnerable. Maine would never willingly leave his armor, and in any case he was deprived of it he could do whatever he could to get it back. In the case that is simply doesn't exist, it's going to put him in a state of constant anxiety.

Abilities: Without his armor, Maine is still a fucking tank. He's got extensive training and experience as an elite soldier. His fighting style is power over speed, and he has a ridiculous endurance and pain tolerance that allows him to shrug off a great number of hits. That being said, he's already covered in scars from numerous battles in the past.
His power armor gave him an additional increased strength and endurance as well as a number of enhancements he stole from the other Freelancers (although he'd need an actual AI to run them).
Included enhancements are;
* color change (changes the color of the armored plating)
* temporal distortion (stops, slows, or loops small segments of time)
* audio manipulation
* speed
* invisibility
* bubble shield
Sample Entry: [Phone - Open]
[I hate this place. I hate all of you. Had been what Maine was thinking as he stared at the phone. The message he left for the residents of Mayfield, however, was a low, rumbling, warning growl.]

[Action -- around town on his way to the Rec Center]
[He was in a mood today, and after leaving the message he took to the streets to beat up whoever was stupid enough to get in his way.]
[Action -- Rec Center]
[Once there, he's going to see about demolishing some of the workout equipment.]

Character Name: Sansa Stark
Character Series: A Song of Ice and Fire
Character Age: 14.
Background: Her article at A Wiki of Ice and Fire and at the Game of Thrones wiki. I'll be playing her from a sort of blended canon, if that's okay. She's 14, like in the television series, and I might refer to a few events from the show (such as the doll her father gave her in the first season and her dinner with Cersei, Tommen and Myrcella in the second) as long as they don't conflict with the novels. Everything else will be accurate to the books. Canon point is shortly after the Battle of Blackwater, before her engagement to Joffrey Baratheon is ended.
