The Mood Slime Plot
"Are you troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night?
Do you experience feelings of dread in your basement or attic?
Have you or any of your family ever seen a spook, specter, or ghost?"
If not then get ready, Mayfield! Locked away in Dr. Egon Spengler's garage lab is a jar of a nasty, pink ectoplasmic slime capable of playing with human emotions and causing all kinds of other mayhem. It has also escaped its jar and has managed to spread itself all over town into houses and other buildings, cars, mailboxes, stray shoes, rain gutters, food containers, school books, and even the plumbing!
This plot will run March 20th-22nd and each day will reveal different occurrences...
Day 1 (March 20th) - Feeling irritable today? Snippy? Unbeknownst to you something in town is affecting your mood in a very bad way. You may just feel a bit short-tempered today. If you've come into contact with the slime, however, you'll be feeling downright aggressive and attempt to pick a fight with the first person you see. And the second, and the third... you get the idea.
You also might want to keep an eye open for inanimate objects attempting to eat you. Things that definitely couldn't move before will start moving and attacking anyone in the general vicinity if they come into contact with the slime. You might want to avoid the kitchen. Those kitchen knives could become dangerous if they start flying around.
Day 2 (March 21st) - With all the lovely negative emotions eating up Mayfield the slime will continue to spread and will soon open up a portal to the ghost world, allowing ghosts and apparitions of every shape, size, and kind into the town. They will haunt buildings, objects, and terrorize anyone in their way. Unfortunately with the very limited Ghostbuster manpower and equipment in town your best bet of avoiding them is simply "don't go in there". Egon will try his best to catch as many ghosts as physically possible, but his best might not be enough.
Day 3 (March 22nd) - It won't take long for Egon to figure out what's going on, or to fashion portable tanks with spray nozzles full of positively-charged mood slime. This happy!slime is able to completely reverse the effects of the nasty slime. He'll need some volunteers to help hose down the town, though.
If you're too angry and busy fighting with others, or running for your life from the inanimate objects that are now very animate and trying to eat you, someone will be by soon to hose you or the possessed object down with the happy!slime. This slime has its own set of side-effects, though. In people it causes a sort of euphoric feeling. They might confess joyful, sappy feelings of love (familial, friendly, or romantic) for everyone and everything around them. And they'll be very huggy. Watch out for the slimy hugs. Inanimate objects will dance around happily when exposed to upbeat music. These effects will disappear when the slime is washed off.
Anyone is welcome to participate or not participate in this player plot as they wish. There are quite a few options lasting the three days of the plot that you can pick and choose from:
On the first day...
- Any character may be affected by the aura in town. This will cause them to become irritable and snippy but not necessarily aggressive unless really provoked. Mostly they'll just be moody and short-tempered.
- Any character may come in contact with the slime and become a raging ball of anger. These characters will pick fights (often physical) with anyone around them and be generally unreasonable. This slime can be washed off but it won't disappear. It will simply relocate itself and possess someone/something else.
- Any inanimate object imaginable can come into contact with the slime and become possessed. It will start to move around and actually go after anyone in the general vicinity. If it's bolted down or attached to something else it will struggle unless it either gets itself free or is let loose. If it actually catches someone it will attempt to eat them if it has a hinged part or lid of some sort. If not it will just attempt to bludgeon people by throwing itself at them. Sharp objects will attempt to stab and slice people.
On the second day... the effects of the previous day may still remain.
- Ghosts may be haunting any building or structure around town and will terrorize anyone who comes near them or tries to enter the premises.
- Any character is welcome to attempt to contact Egon via his answering machine and request assistance but they're not guaranteed to get it. Egon will only be able to help so many people, and due to limited equipment he'll only be able to do so much.
On the third day... the effects of the first and second day may still remain. However...
- Characters exhibiting signs of having come in contact with the bad slime will get hosed down with the happy!slime and experience a euphoric feeling of pure joy, expressing love for everyone around them. Similarly, possessed objects will also get hosed down and bounce around happily as if dancing, particularly if there's an upbeat tune being played.
- Characters who have avoided the worst of it are welcome to volunteer to assist Egon with the tanks of happy!slime. Again, these volunteers must have either avoided contact with the bad slime or managed to stop fighting with people long enough to have the sense to wash it off. These characters will receive a retrofitted vacuum cleaner full of happy!slime that's been set to pump rather than suction.

If you have any questions or if you'd like to sign up your character/s to volunteer with the happy!slime, please tag the appropriate threads below.
Under that, feel free to plot!

Re: Ask Questions Here
First, Mindy is likely to try to negotiate with the ghosts. She's done this kind of thing before, with the help of her two ghostly companions. (Both of which she has regained in Mayfield.)
Second, if all else fails, at least one of those ghosts is likely to just try to beat up the offending spirits. tl;dr, what are your thoughts on ghosts vs. ghosts?

Then Mindy will be visiting people she knows and shooing away pesky ghosts. It should be a pretty good time.^_^
