The first part of our final(!) event will have Mrs. Johnson pitting the player characters against each other for her own amusement, taking control of their bodies and driving them to murder everyone they come into contact with- all while fully awake and aware.

Despite what this might suggest, the mods will not be controlling your character- you're free to play out their actions, so long as they fall under the general heading of "try to kill everyone in the immediate area as horribly as possible". This post will act as a joint signup/permissions post both for those under Johnson's control and those they're programmed to murder, i.e. everyone else, so please take a moment to fill out the following:

[Come one, come all! What better way to celebrate the start of summer by heading to the new carnival that's come to town? Admission is free - go ahead and try your hand at the extremely legitimate games, eat some delicious food, ride the Ferris wheel (the tallest in Mayfield!), and get your fortune told by our professional fortuneteller. There's even a funhouse that's packed with extra fun!

Oh, you can't get in that last one? Sorry, it's still undergoing some construction. But don't worry, it'll open soon enough....]

The carnival has arrived to Mayfield and will remain open until the end of the event. While all characters are currently free to explore the carnival, some of you may have noticed that the funhouse is currently boarded up without any way to access the interior. The funhouse will be opened in a few days, upon which characters will have a chance to explore it. Those that explore it and sign up for the event may be in for some extra fun.

We are limiting sign-ups to one character per player. Please only sign up if you intend to participate. Characters who sign up and explore the funhouse will be trapped in a new area until further notice; the length will vary from player to player, but be prepared to have your character trapped for anywhere between four to seven days. We will reveal more information about the area once it's been opened; however, please note that for those who sign up and participate, there is a strong likelihood of serious character injury, trauma, or death. Additionally, those who die in this new area will not be revived until the end of the event. If you are not comfortable with any of the above, we suggest you reconsider signing up. Revivals will work as normal for those who remain in Mayfield, and characters who do not sign up will still be able to fully participate in the event. You may also sign up your character now but choose not to explore the funhouse if you change your mind.

If you would like to sign up your character, please comment under the appropriate thread below with your player name, your character's name, and your character's journal. You will be asked to join a separate community once the funhouse opens and will receive information from there. Again, please sign up only one character each. Sign-ups will close on June 26 at 5 pm eastern time.

Happy Mother's Day, everyone! Just like last year, men will be affected by the town to become absolutely devoted husbands, sons, fathers, or friends. This will not be a droning per se, as they will keep their personality and their memories of life before Mayfield. But they will have feelings of adoration for the women they meet, and they will view the women in their household as adopted family. This devotion will be strong enough that they will willingly do anything a woman asks them to do, even if she asked him to end his own life.

Of course, this event is opt in. Below, if you play a male character (meaning a character the town views as male), you may sign up. You can choose whether you would like your character affected this way by all women or just the ones in his household, so specify that when you sign up.

As always, even if someone signs up, you are required to respect their wishes. You must ask for permission before doing anything to their character and godmoding is still not allowed.

Any questions can also go below! This event begins on Sunday at midnight, will last through Monday, and backdating is allowed.

Beginning January 27, Mayfield will be instituting an emergency plan to attempt to correct the malfunctioning revival system. This plan will involve kidnapping random citizens for improvements, repairs, or experimentation. Characters may be operated on in ways that involve changes such as:

Characters may or may not be drugged for the surgery. The surgery and its effects will not be fatal, although characters will still be able to die for other reasons. Keep in mind that revival is currently turned off, and death will be permanent until a few days into this stage of the event. Characters who die during the event can participate, but you'll need to specify when they die.

While we encourage you to list what you are and aren't okay with, and while we will absolutely respect what you list, please keep in mind that this event will certainly involve blood, gore, body horror, and dark themes. If you aren't comfortable with that, we suggest that you don't sign up.

Sign-ups will be open until January 27, when this stage of the event begins. Signed up characters will be selected randomly in daily shifts, and the mods will determine what specifically happens to them. We only guarantee that one of your characters will be selected, so please don't forget to specify which character you most want involved. Please only sign up 3 characters maximum. If you sign up, you're giving us permission to screw with your character. If you change your mind about participating, please PM us.
