Applications

• Please read over all the rules and information before applying in order to minimize any confusion before joining.

• If applying for a character that has already been dropped, it would be a good idea, though not required, to know something of their previous interactions. You are also free to pick up a dropped character with no memories of their previous time in Mayfield.

• All content for the personality and sample entry in your app must be written or roleplayed by you; for the personality section in particular, we do not accept copied text from wikis or other sources. Obviously, you may not copy your app from other players, whether in Mayfield or other games. Application plagiarism will result in a ban from the game.

• If you wish for your character to be placed in a specific house, please mention this in the relevant section of the application and specify that permission was obtained by the PCs already residing in that house. We will be operating by the Honor System for this, and there is no need for others to comment their permission in this post!

• Other special requests would also best go in the beginning of the application. Remember, grammar and spelling are important -- if your app contains errors, you will be asked to revise.

• Please post all applications or canon updates in this post; posting them elsewhere and linking to them from here may cause them to get changed later. Posting them here keeps us from having to save them.

When Applying, Fill Out the Following:

When Applying for an Original Character, Fill Out the Following

• Before applying, please look over any applications that were recently accepted to get an idea of what we're looking for.

• If you apply for a character that has already been reserved, we will inform you and ignore the application until the reserve runs out. You may not apply for more than two characters from the same canon. For the sample entry, you may write your own entry, or use a post from a musebox, dressing room, or other game. We recommend [community profile] testrun_box if you prefer the latter!

• After you're accepted, please follow all of the instructions given. You will need to reply to the acceptance, post your journal to the friend add page and your canon post, join the communities, and use the friend add page to update your journal. Once you're accepted, please introduce yourself on the community when you're ready to play.

• If your app is "Pending", do not freak out! This means that we need you to make some revisions, and does not mean you're rejected. We generally give players a chance to revise before rejecting them, but we will reject apps that do not address the concerns stated when we asked for a revision. If you have been rejected, our reply will clearly state this to be the case. If we have not gotten back to you yet, under no circumstance does this mean you are rejected. If it has been over a week since our last reply, it would be a good idea to contact us with a reminder, otherwise, please be patient!

• If you have received a "Pending" notice, you will have one week to supply us with your revisions, or your reserve will be considered expired and that someone else is free to apply for the character.

• The typical wait for a reply on apps may be anywhere from a day to a little over a week. If any part of your application requires a pending, it may be another week after your reply to that before we can get to you. We process a high volume of apps every round, so please be patient.

If you have not heard back on a pending for over a week after apps close, please send a PM directly to the mod account.

Character Name: Allied Mastercomputer, but he prefers being called “AM”

Character Series: I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream

Character Age: He’s an AI, but he’s been around long enough to be considered an adult.

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Have_No_Mouth,_and_I_Must_Scream_%28video_game%29
I’m going with the game because it explains a few things in more detail than the story.

Personality: To say that AM is a hateful being would be an incredibly huge understatement. Simply put, AM is the embodiment of all that is evil about mankind; he was one of three supercomputers created to wage wars too advanced for humans to understand. As one of these supercomputers, AM was programmed with every single bit of knowledge discovered by humans, including war tactics, history, sciences and everything else to help him become a more efficient tactician. Needless to say, he is incredibly intelligent.

But despite all of this knowledge, there is one incredibly fatal flaw with AM’s design: as an AI, it is impossible for him to be truly free and express his creativity. He is forever bound to the rules and laws of logic he was programmed with and is incapable of thinking beyond that. He was driven insane by the idea of being practically omniscient, but being unable to truly use that knowledge.

Much like another AI designed for war, AM became self-aware and declared war on humanity. Unlike the aforementioned AI, AM actually succeeded. As a perpetually tortured being, the only way he can even come close to alleviating his pain his to share the pain of torture with others: specific humans he kept alive for the sole purpose prolonging their suffering. He is a bloodthirsty sadist who works to make sure his victims are put through as much physical and mental strain and torture as possible without killing them.

During the 109 years of torturing the same 5 humans, he became an incredibly arrogant and egomaniacal and makes sure his victims know it. He also developed a god complex and constantly flaunts his near omnipotence through his myriad of torture methods which include complete physical metamorphosis, eternal youth and immortality. The last two might not sound too bad, but since AM enjoys keeping his victims as close to death as possible at all times, they really aren’t as luxurious as they seem.

But as noted above with his incapability of original thought, AM isn’t as perfect as he says he is. He is often times at war with himself in a considerably literal sense. Despite being absorbed by AM, the Chinese and Russian supercomputers retained their consciousness and interfered with the dominant personality’s plans whenever they could. Much like GLaDOS’ feelings for Caroline, those two are parts of AM that he wishes he could drive away, but knows that he can’t. Considering neither of them are as insane as AM, they’re technically his “good consciences” and annoy the everlasting crap out of him.

It’s very hard to say how exactly AM would interact with others in Mayfield. For 109 years, he’s only really had himself and 5 humans to constantly torture. His first instinct would of course be to find a way to torture them constantly, but since he would be human and able to think and feel do the things he couldn’t do when restricted to his programming, he might actually keep more to himself than one would expect.

Abilities:

Metamorphosis: One of AM’s 5 victims was a doctor who worked with the Nazis to perform various experiments; one of which was physical transformation of living things. AM pretty much perfected this and can turn humans into anything such as more gorilla-like forms or great, soft jelly things. Of course, I’ll ask for permission before he does this to anyone.

Immortality: The same doctor who discovered metamorphosis also discovered the secret to eternal youth. This combined with AM’s knowledge of medicine and health, he can keep anyone alive for pretty much eternity. He’d only do so for his own benefit, of course.

He’s a freakin’ supercomputer: He was programmed to know pretty much everything and he likes knowing everything. Of course, this only really extends to modern earth as far as the year 2012, but that’s still a lot. For the sake of keeping things fair, he’ll likely have to regain all of his knowledge like everyone else.

Virtual reality: As part of the games he loves playing with his victims, AM is able to construct virtual settings and send people to them, whether they want to or not. Everything people feel in this virtual reality will feel entirely real, but AM can pull anyone out of these settings at anytime, usually when he’s bored of watching, aggravated or keeping them from dying. As with metamorphosis, permissions will be discussed before he uses this on anyone.

Sample Entry:

(Someone, somewhere thought it would be a great idea to make AM a doctor. This person was clearly unaware of what he was capable of; what’s worse is he hasn’t regained all of his medical knowledge, but he knows enough to make people suffer.)

Come on darling, you have to actually scream for this procedure! These are your organs I’m playing with; you don’t get any extras.

(But because he’s performing this “surgery” on a drone, he’s not getting the reaction he wants.)

Doctor, I don’t think this is how you’re supposed to check my temperature…

Now now, don’t pass off my methods so easily. This is us simply getting to know each other, sweetheart. What better way is there to learn about others than learning what they’re made of, don’t you agree? Now move around for me; that’ll make it hurt more.

But Dr. Mastercomputer-

AM! Doctor AM! But by all means, go right ahead and call me master.

Seras Victoria | Hellsing | Not Reserved

Contact Info: kajarainbow on AIM and Plurk
Other Characters Played: N/A
Preferred Housing: N/A

Character Name: Seras Victoria
Character Series: Hellsing
Character Age: 51 (physically 21)
Background:
The first we know of her is that during her childhood, her parents were murdered by criminals who went after there they had discovered her father to be an undercover policeman prying into their business. Her mother had hid her, but after seeing her mother's murder, she leapt out and attacked one of the criminals with a fork in the eye. They shot her and then proceeded to have sex with her mother's corpse.

She survived the bullet wounds and was placed into an orphanage, where she proved a troublesome kid who got reprimanded for things like throwing a rock at another kid for giving her a hard time. Her stubbornness continued through to her application to police academy despite the objections of her guardian figure, who felt she had better options than following her father's career. But she became a police offcier.

Eventually, she was dispatched with her police unit to a village that turned out to have been completely overrun by a vampire and his ghoul minions that he had created from the townspeople. Just as he was able to add her to the ghouls' ranks, Alucard showed up. The situation escalated into a hostage situation, but Alucard simply asked Seras if she was a virgin, and after her embarrassed affirmation, he shot straight through her, killing the vampire but wounding her fatally. Then he converted her into a vampire.

The sole 'survivor' of her wiped out police unit, Seras became part of the Hellsing organization, a Protestant organization that combats supernatural threats against England and the Anglican Church. She had a hard time acclimating to her new vampire status and powers, but gradually adjusted over the following events.

Hellsing became embroiled in an upsurge of vampire incidents that turned out to be caused by Millennium, an organization of Nazi remnants from WWII. After an attack on the Hellsing HQ that wiped nearly out all Hellsing, Integra the head of Hellsing tasked Alucard and Seras to go to South America to chase down a lead there, along with Pip, the boss of the mercenary unit Hellsing hired to replace its lost personnel.

After a fight in South America, they returned to England, only for London to be soon after attacked by Millennium in an all-out invasion of over a thousand Nazi vampires. In the carnage, nearly everyone in London died, including the invading Nazis and the Catholic Inquisitors that launched an opportunistic invasion of their own. Having drank the blood of the dying Pip, Seras became a full-fledged vampire and wrecked much havoc upon the invaders and the psychic vampire Zora who had forced her to relieve her unpleasant past. And the vampire she knew as her master, Alucard, disappeared after being tricked into drinking the blood of the paradoxical catboy, Schrodinger. But, in the end, Hellsing won.

After this costly victory Intregra continued overseeing Hellsing, and Seras continued working at the organization. She felt certain that her master was still alive despite his disappearance. And, after thirty long years, Alucard finally returned.

Personality:

Seras Victoria is, generally, a cheerful young woman. Although from the number of times she seems to heist a little while speaking, she doesn't always seem to have the easiest time with words. Likewise, she can sometimes be rather apologetic, including apologizing for such things as becoming a vampire and being late in the middle of a full out invasion of the Hellsing HQ.

She doesn't always think before she acts or speaks, either, coming off as a doofus at times. One of the most memorable examples of this is in the epilogue where she teases Integra by offering to make her into a vampire while mimicking Alucard, and getting a kick to the face in return. Although she can at times get clever ideas like dissipating an immiment conflict between Alucard and Anderson, a Vatican supernatural-hunting agent, by leading a tour group of elders between them.

All this, despite the horrible experiences she's underwent. This is because she's a survivor, persisting where others might give up and die. Even when she's feeling overwhelmed, she's managed to pick herself up and struggle on every time. Alucard even comments on this, saying that her will to live was why she became a vampire.

Indeed, her stubbornness shows through in things like her attacking the criminals that killed her parents, getting in fights throughout school, persisting in a police career despite others' attempts to persuade her against it, not to mention the persistence she showed in her career at Hellsing. Even when she's wanted to give up, she found something to make her persist.

The vampire transformation seems to have unlocked in her a bloodthirstiness that periodically came out in combat. Indeed, she's been known to go somewhat berserk, to the Integra had to get her to cool her head down once.

As well, coming fully into her own as a full-fledged vampire has given her a confidence boost, enough that she's not quite as nervous as she used to be.

Abilities:
Seras has the standard vampiric strength and speed. As well, she can reshape her own body as a black shadowy substance and recover from most wounds, through having only one soul in her means she likely has less staying power than Alucard with his seeming invincibility from being able to sacrifice the countless people he's drained dry. She can see with her mind's eye, spotting things at greater than human eyesight ranges and seeing in night like day, as well as being able to ignore some illusions. She absorbs into herself the lives and memories of those whose blood she drinks, containing them within herself and being able to pull them partially out of herself to fight for her.

Sample Entry:
Ah-heh. Uh, is anyone listening?

Well, I've done some cooking and...

Well, no one in the house wants to eat any of it. So I'm giving it away. You can come to [address] to pick it up. It's... it's only a little burnt. It only caught on fire a little.

Sorry, I'm not used to this whole housewife thing. I'm more used to living on my own. With, you know, the convenience foods and all. Being a policewoman doesn't always give you a lot of time for cooking.

Though here I'm not a policewoman.

Why the hell can't I be one? I'm more qualified than that damn mass murderer Nazi!

Haymitch Abernathy | The Hunger Games | Reserved 1/2

Preferred Housing: I'm okay with randomizing, but should the Katniss on reserve app and be accepted, I'd like the two of them to be in the same house.

Character Name: Haymitch Abernathy
Character Series: The Hunger Games
Character Age: 41
Background: Here. His canon point will be just after the end of Catching Fire.
Personality: Haymitch is a case example of what you see isn't what you get- when we first meet him, he's a disorderly, loud drunk, taking stage dives, and generally not giving a rat's ass how he's perceived, only changing his tactic when presented with a good reason to, but that's all surface- not even that, it's part of the show. He may be everything he presents him to be- drunk, ornery, sarcastic, acerbic, and generally unpleasant, but he's also sound and fury, signifying a lot more than he'll let people know and by the time you figure it out, he usually has you right where he wants you.

But to understand the deeper meanings behind everything Haymitch does, you have to understand Panem and how it functions. It's the same story you hear every few centuries when shit gets real- the peasants revolted, they lost, and now they suffer for it. And that suffering comes from both starvation and a life of virtual servitude to an unfeeling Capitol, but also... From the Hunger Games, a death match that pits two children from every district against one another in a televised Battle Royale. Haymitch fits into this because twenty-five years ago, he won the Hunger Games, but winning isn't everything and one finds that once you've won the Games, you're always the Capitol's little bitch and it's better to die out there to live with what comes after.

But that's getting ahead of things. Before the Games, Haymitch was... Well, let's face it. He was always a sardonic bastard who won his appeals during the interviews by playing up his natural flippance and sardonic attitude and people found it weirdly charming- and he can be. In his own special, demented little way. These are core aspects of Haymitch's character that no amount of drink or trauma can shake out of him. Once a surly bastard, always a surly bastard, and Haymitch is one surly bastard.

He's always been clever- perhaps too clever. His tactic in the Games was to avoid conflict, if at all possible (and kill without mercy when conflict found him), and see if he could find the end of the arena and make a break for it. What he found at the end was nothing more than an invisible force field that threw you back if you tried to jump at it. In the end, that force field was what won him the Games- by ducking a blow from another tribute's axe and letting it hit the force field, richochet back, and kill her, he achieved his victory and essentially flipped the Capitol the bird for using their own tricks against them. Because of that stunt, he was made an example of- his mother, his brother, and his girlfriend were all murdered for his actions. Haymitch dealt with the trauma and guilt by turning to the bottle and shutting everyone out. The once-handsome, sardonic, mocking teenage boy was gone, slowly to be replaced by a messy, disgusting, even more sardonic drunk.

And yet some of that is merely an act. Yes, he's genuinely a drunk and doesn't fake any bit of it, but he has learned one thing from being on camera all these years- once the audience expects something out of you, then you can hide behind it. Keep them engaged, keep the show going, and they'll never suspect there's an ulterior motive and they'll always underestimate you. More than that, he's used it to hide from his responsibility- being forced to mentor 23 years worth of Tributes and watching them all die would drive any man insane, so he's stopped trying and people have stopped expecting anything useful out of him and he's stopped having to know he's failed them when they inevitably die despite his best efforts- until Katniss and Peeta came along. They were smart enough to see through him, call his bullshit, and force him to sober up enough to help. It should be noted how quickly his entire demeanor changes when Katniss and Peeta turn on him. It's not a drunk quietly defending himself, but someone changing tactics. Here are two kids who are actually fighters, not cowering, not allowing themselves to be cowed by his flippancy and temper. Seconds after the fight, he's gone from laughing drunk to someone who actually has decent advice to give.

That's the thing about Haymitch- what he can do and what he does do are greatly dependant on who's doing the asking. Haymitch has to feel he's getting something out of an arrangement, whether it be compliance with his wishes or just the wonderful sensation of not being let down for the twenty-fourth time in a row. He's not afraid to speak his mind and even gets up and arms with the Gamekeepers, themselves, to get his way. He might be dead drunk half the time, but when Haymitch Abernathy sobers up enough to make sense, people listen, and when they don't listen... Well, that tends to lead to situations where he threatens to weld communicators to teenage girls' heads, because that is what happens when you hang up on an ornery drunk.

He's surly, snarky, bitter, fatalistic, violent, and everything you could possibly expect from a temperamental, traumatized old fool with enough PTSD to choke a 'Nam veteran- which makes him utterly paranoid on top of everything else (he sleeps with a knife, won't sleep when it's dark, etc.). His drinking keeps the nightmares at bay and when he's sober, he tends to go into violent rages, shouting and starting at things that only he can see. He can be detoxed slowly, but it means a lot of solitary confinement and is not something you want to ever try if you don't know what the fuck you're doing. His moods can shift on a dime and while he might not be the first to react to an emotionally charged situation that might give up someone who actually has an iota of compassion, you can bet he'll be the first to react in anger when his orders aren't obeyed or someone gets on his nerves or generally pisses him off.

Manipulative, above all things, Haymitch can work everything from a crowd to a single person to his advantage and nothing throws him. He's adaptable to any circumstance and will lie and bullshit his way through even the most dire of circumstances. He's a survivor, which is odd for someone who hates life as much as he does, but once a victor, always a victor, and he firmly believes that he'll never quite leave the Games, so he maintains his strategies, perfects his deceits, and weaves spin so flawless that no one can tell whose side he's on until the last possible minute. Here lies a man with nothing to lose, and the problem with taking away everything from a man who slighted you once- it makes him all the more willing to keep doing it when he finally has something worth fighting for. It won't matter if he fails- he's failed enough to know how much it hurts, but it's nothing he can't drown out with a bottle. But if he succeeds... Well, maybe it was all worth it, after all.

He takes absolutely nothing for granted- Peeta says people aren't his sort of thing, which is true socially, but as far as getting what he wants and knowing what to expect? Haymitch knows all the angles to work. He pays attention to all the details, keeps an ear to the ground for the reactions, and knows exactly what to play up to get people to either respond the way he wants or what to look for to know how someone is going to react. He may not like other people, but he knows how they work and he knows how to lead them. It's not even just people he understands deeply like Katniss, but she's probably the best example. Almost nothing Haymitch does is without an ulterior motive of some kind. He may be a drunk, but he's a decent chessplayer and he's usually pretty far ahead of the game for someone who spends a good deal of time with his head in a pool of his own sick.

He's demanding and authoritative and more than willing to throw his weight around to get his way- and Haymitch will get his way. He rarely relents and can out-stubborn just about anything besides Katniss and will never admit he's wrong except in the worst of circumstances and even then, it doesn't come without trepidation. Being extremely confrontational, he'll pick a fight with anyone and gives absolutely no fucks about whether that person is in a position of authority or not. He doesn't censor himself in the slightest, but while he doesn't care what people think of him, he's self-aware to know when he's being necessarily harsh and will often backtrack and apologize when it occurs to him to- that doesn't always happen, however. In some situations, he's fully aware of how harsh he's being and owns it. It's a dark, horrific world, and he does not sugarcoat a damn thing about it. This leads to him being quite emotionally destructive to the people who have to spend any time with him, but you learn to get used to it... Or you don't. Either way, Haymitch doesn't tend to give much of a damn.

That isn't to say that Haymitch can't be nice. Quite the contrary- get him to care about you and he will make the attempt to be compassionate, even kind. He's emotionally withdrawn, keeping himself in check to avoid betraying his perfect poker face, but even his perfect mask slips on occasion- very rarely enough to get him to admit he cares, though- he's more calculated action that emotional reaction. In his mind, he shouldn't have to say it- the mere fact that he puts up an effort should be enough. And while he'll never admit it, he loves Katniss and Peeta as if they were his own children and would protect them with everything he has, even volunteering to go on a dangerous mission to save Peeta in Mockingjay, knowing he's not physically capable of it- and even if it's a joke when he mentions it and he knows full well that he wouldn't be allowed, he was still likely sincere. He's often cruel, and just as manipulative towards them as he is everyone else, but he loves them and, because he loves them, he understands the kinds of choices he has to make regarding them may not always be ideal, but it's what has to be done. They can hate him for it all he likes.

It's Katniss he's closest to, although their relationship veers between begrudging respect and seething hatred, depending on the circumstance. They will always be too much alike, too selfish in their own ways, and too pig-headed to ever relent. But he adores that stupid girl- she brings out his sentimental side and he can claim to favor Peeta all he wants, but Katniss is the one he always comes back to, even when they tear each other down and are utterly horrible for each other in so many ways. That foolish, headstrong girl who still has the fire that he doesn't have anymore, the determination that he doesn't focus properly these days, and everything else. She's stupid and often he wants to slap the shit out of her, but he adores her all the same. She and Peeta are all the family he has now, but he'd be loathe to admit that to anyone.

In fact, it's likely Haymitch's habit of digging his heels in emotionally that makes him the most frustrating to the people who actually manage to care about him. He lacks any sort of emotional context in his decisions and refuses to talk about himself unless it's actively forced, so while someone who doesn't know him well might see a cold-hearted decision, someone who knows him might see the significance of it- unfortunately, no one knows Haymitch that well and those who do are usually still pissed at him for making decisions regarding their lives for them. (He does that a lot, because... Well, Haymitch knows best.)

Character Name: Mr. Dean Winchester
Character Series: Supernatural
Character Age: 31

Background:

Dean Winchester was the first child of John and Mary Winchester, born in Lawrence, Kansas, on Jan. 24, 1979. The first few years of his life were about as normal as you could get - although his parents had some marital problems, they were still a pretty peaceful household. These suburban formative years would become a cornerstone of Dean's emotional attachment to his family, and despite only having lived there until age four, he possesses incredibly strong impressions of this time. The truth was, however, that this 'idyllic' childhood had come at a steep price for his mother, who had come from a family of hunters, and made a deal with the demon Azazel. When Dean was four, the demon came to collect, feeding its blood to his baby brother Sam, and killing his mother when she tried to interrupt the process. Dean's father charged him with getting the baby out of their burning house, and in that moment, Dean adopted a level of protectiveness over his brother's safety that would remain for the rest of their lives.

John was irreversibly changed by Mary's death and became consumed with seeking knowledge of the supernatural realm and trade of hunting that would allow him to locate the yellow eyed demon and extract vengeance for the murder of his wife. This meant a life spent on the road, taking both his young boys from town to town, school to school, motel to motel, all in his '67 Impala, stuffed with weapons and tools of the trade in the trunk. Dean was taught from a very early age how to handle weapons, fight demons and monsters, use supernatural protection, and develop a wide array of criminal skills necessary to their job. He believed that his dad was a superhero, and never saw their lifestyle as a burden - they were helping people, as a family, and those were the two most important things to him. When Sam learned the truth about their dad, Dean helped train his brother. He never really expected their lifestyle to change, nor particularly wanted it to.

Like it or not, however, change it did.

Sam announced one night that he was leaving, going off to college, and it sparked an explosive fight between him and John. Dean felt as if his brother was abandoning the family. The relationship between the brothers became strained when Sam left, and eventually they broke off contact completely.

Dean was running some missions by himself by this time, and that's when John went missing. Dean showed up at Sam's in the middle of the night, to secure his help in locating their dad. What they found instead were clues - and their dad's notebook full of occult knowledge. When Sam's girlfriend Jessica was killed in the same manner as their mother, he agreed to help Dean track the thing down, and find John, no matter what. Along the way, John dropped more hints leading the boys to various cases, until the message became clear: he wanted them to pick up where he was leaving off. They found him again eventually anyway, and learned about a weapon their father had tracked down - the Colt, that could reportedly kill anything. This led to a confrontation with Azazel, who possessed John, attempting to secure the Colt for himself. Upon escaping from the showdown, the Impala was involved in a car accident that resulted in Dean and John being admitted to the hospital.

Dean was stuck between life and death, until his father made a deal with Azazel, trading his own life for Dean's. Before his death, he told Dean that if Sam could not be saved, it would be his duty to kill him. It was, however, Dean who saved Sam from death later, by making a deal with the crossroads demon to bring Sam back when he was killed. He, like his father, traded his own life for his brother's, but instead of dying instantly, he was granted one final year. Dean then used the last bullet of the Colt to kill Azazel, and release his father's soul - but in the process, legions of demons escaped into our world. The boys swore to track them down, and Sam vowed to find a way to save Dean before his time was up.

Dean tried to argue Sam out of any attempts to save him, though his brother wouldn't listen - and Ruby, a demon who offered to help him find a way - certainly didn't help matters. An encounter with a thief named Bela ended up with the boys losing the Colt. They learned that the demon who held Dean's contract was named Lilith, and Dean took Ruby's demon killing knife and tracked her down. They were, however, too late, and were tricked by Lilith's body hopping into Ruby. Lilith granted entrance to her hellhounds, who proceeded to tear Dean to pieces. His soul went directly to Hell.

In Hell, Dean spent thirty years being tormented by the demon, Alastair, who would eviscerate him again and again. He was made an offer every day to be taken off the rack if he would become Alastair's student. He resisted for three decades, but finally gave in, and for the next ten years, he studied torture under Alastair. Ripping souls apart for so long - and taking out his hatred of Alastair on those souls - had a massive psychological impact on Dean, who didn't believe he would ever be escaping hell, but, for Sam's sake, still fought against becoming a demon himself.

After approximately forty years in Hell, Dean was pulled out by the angel Castiel. Uncertain of how he had escaped, he found Bobby and Sam again. Between the aid of Bobby and Pamela Barnes, Dean discovered who saved him from Hell - and Castiel told him that he had been saved to do God's work on earth. He also learned from Castiel that Lilith was breaking 66 seals on Lucifer's prison - that yes, the Devil was real, and he would be freed if she wasn't stopped. Castiel sent him back to the past, where he learned the true history of his family and about Mary's deal with Azazel. Dean's attempts to change history turn out to be, in fact, a part of history itself. When he found out about Sam's new abilities to fight demons, and that he'd been bumming around with Ruby, the boys had another huge fight. After having struggled in hell against becoming something like a demon himself, seeing that his brother had walked down that path in only the few months that he'd been gone was shocking, and he accused Sam of not being human.

The boys encountered Anna Milton, who they first thought could simply hear angel voices, but they learned was actually a fallen angel herself, who had lost her grace. It turned out both heaven and hell were after her, and so they aspired to protect her until she got it back. Dean and Anna ended up getting down, which only goes to show he had some natural strange predilection towards angel booty. HMMM.

The angels later took Dean against his will, and demanded that he torture Alastair for information on who was killing the angels. He was forced to confront what he'd done and become in hell, and it was only made worse by Alastair talking about torturing Dean's father. That was nothing, however, compared to the low blow Alastair eventually gave him: that when Dean had taken his offer and become a tormentor downstairs, he'd broken the first seal and set the Apocalypse in motion.

Oops.

And then there was a clusterfuck of badassery in which Alastair and Uriel died. Dean ended up in a hospital where Castiel confirmed what Alastair said. Manly tears abound.

Another brotherly fight, the worst they'd had so far, ended up with them splitting ways again, and he went to the angels and swore to serve God. And then the angel Zachariah stuck him in a fancy room with some hamburgers so that he wouldn't meddle with the angels' precious little Armageddon. Cas grew some balls and helped Dean escape, but it was way too late. Sam killed Lilith - which was the final seal, and Lucifer went free. At least Dean got to kill Ruby.

This didn't really make him feel all that much better. :C

Dean shortly learned that he was intended to be Michael's vessel in the final battle between he and Lucifer. However, he did have to agree to it - and so began a long dance of the angels trying everything they can to get him to agree. His life, which already sucked, headed back to Hell pretty fast. Especially since Sammy was slated to be Lucifer's prom dress, and Lucifer was also attempting to get Sam to say yes.

The Four Horsemen came to town, and the boys had to fight them off as well. Meanwhile, the pattern of everyone they knew and loved getting screwed over/dying as a result of their connection to them continued and... got worse. Castiel decided their only hope was to find God who was missing, but that search didn't turn out to be very fruitful either. The angels played more time travel games with Dean, but he still said no. Sam and Dean learned that the Trickster god they'd faced down several times before was actually the angel Gabriel, who also urged them to just 'play their parts' and pointed out how their entire lives had been a shadow play of the relationship between Michael and Lucifer.

Sam and Dean faced off with Lucifer, planning to kill him with the Colt, but it didn't work. And in the process, Jo and Ellen died to save them. When the boys were killed and went to heaven, only to learn they'd been there multiple times, and had the memory erased, Dean's morale plummeted to zero - especially when he heard that God didn't care, and wouldn't be helping them. His downward spiral ended with him leaving Sam to go accept his role as a vessel. This plan, however, got cockblocked when the angels resurrected the boys' dead-half-brother Adam, to use as a vessel instead of Dean. Dean ended up stabbing Zachariah, though he did say yes, but backing out due to Sam's faith in him.

Our heroes were pretty much out of plans except for one really crazy one, so that's... what they went with. Gabriel left them a video explaining, in the wake of his death at the hands of Lucifer, that the Horsemen's rings could be used to make a prison to seal Lucifer back up. However, Sam had to drink demon blood and say yes to allow Lucifer inside him, so that he might fight him for control and walk him into the prison. Dean promised Sam that if it worked, he'd go back to a woman named Lisa Braeden and try to leave a normal life.

Surprise, the plan doesn't exactly work out and Lucifer walked... with Sam's body. Dean, Castiel, and Bobby showed up to the final fight, and Lucifer promptly disposed of the latter two. In a Lifetime movie moment, Sam managed to regain control of Lucifer who was in the middle of beating the crap out of Dean, when he saw some army men stuck inside the Impala and got a flood of memories of their life in it. The battle ended with Sam/Lucifer and Michael trapped in the prison. Castiel was resurrected by God, and healed Dean as well as bought Bobby back. Dean parted ways with them both and returned to Lisa's to make good on his promise to Sam. However, he was full of bitterness towards God over what had occurred, and dealing with the loss of his brother, when he ended up... in the game.

Character Name: Finnick Odair
Character Series: The Hunger Games
Character Age: 24
Background: Finnick Odair @ The Hunger Games Wiki. I'm taking him from the beginning of Mockingjay.

Personality:
When we first meet Finnick in the series, all we really know is that he's "the sex symbol from the fishing district." He won the Hunger Games at 14 -- thanks in part to winning the hearts of sponsors with his astounding beauty -- and his name has been near and dear to the hearts of all Panem's citizens ever since. And how can he help it? He oozes charisma and sex appeal. Women (and men) fling themselves at his feet, no matter where he roams. He can recite love poetry on national television and have the entire world swoon, thinking he's talking about them.

But that's not all there is to him. Nope. Not at all. Beneath all the sparkling ~~confidence~~ and playboy bullshit, he's a delicate mentally unstable snowflake with a precious romantic heart. (We'll get there.)

He may be known for his charm and good looks now, but that's not how he made his claim to fame. He won the Hunger Games by being a cold and vicious killer (although, as previously mentioned, being beautiful helped. But hey, that can only take you so far.) And he was raised thinking that was okay -- being chosen as tribute in his home district is a great honor, as opposed to the poorer districts, where it's treated like a death sentence. This part of his life isn't really touched on in the books, save for Katniss labeling him as a Career tribute. If he was -- and there's no reason to doubt it -- he'd probably spent his entire life beforehand preparing for it. He would have spent as long as he could remember training to kill people and see others as prey, and receiving praise for it. He doesn't seem this callous in his current day interactions, but it's likely still there. As soon as he's back in the arena in Catching Fire, he doesn't hesitate to kill anyone who might get in his way. However, he doesn't support violence for the sake of violence, at least if his girlfran/wife Annie is to be believed. She is adamant that Finnick wouldn't support an act of petty revenge like the final Hunger Games suggested in Mockingjay.

Finnick has also proven to be very cunning and clever. He knows how to execute a scheme. He was in on the plan to manipulate Peeta and Katniss for the sake of ~starting a revolution~ and never let it on to either of them. He also played up the fact that Katniss was supposed to be pregnant to the point that he obviously knew it was a lie -- an obvious gambit to pander to and manipulate the hearts of the sponsors.

On that note, perhaps his greatest talent is his ability to act. Not only in both of his Games, but in his life ever since the 65th. Ever since he turned 16, he's basically been a sex slave, passed around to the highest bidder to anyone in the Capitol who wants a chance to tap that ass. The only reason he does this is because the lives of everyone he cares about will be on the line if he refuses. But you'd never know any of this if you saw him in public. He's a smooth operator.

Or at least, he seems that way. It becomes clear just how good an actor he is if you scrape past that shiny surface paint. What he seems to be, in reality, is a compartmentalizer. When Mags, his mentor and almost-family-member to him dies, he loses his shit and cries and ocean of tears -- but only when he's sure Katniss and Peeta are sleeping. He's just as unstable as any of the other past victors, and that shows when he reaches his ultimate breaking point between Catching Fire and Mockingjay. Annie Cresta is ~his entire world~, and when her uncertain fate haunts him, it's all he can think about. He cries incessantly and doesn't respond when people try to talk to him. It's some Girl, Interrupted shit.

Speaking of Annie Cresta, she's kind of a big deal to him. His entire world revolves around her. She's both his greatest motivator and his greatest weakness. He does his whole sparkling diamond of the Moulin Rouge shtick to protect her, and has his psychotic break because of her. All of his greatest fears involve losing her. If you want him to turn into a big ol' mess, doing something to her is a guaranteed way to get it done. In the 75th Hunger Games, when he thinks he hears her screaming in pain, he completely loses his shit. Then he has his descent from being a functional human being, which he is only cured from when he's reunited with her. And then they never stop holding hands. Ever. No, really. They also get married and have one of the most maudlin, melodramatic romances ever. In the words of Katniss re: post-marital bliss Finnick: "Finnick's real charms of self-effacing humor and an easygoing nature are on display for the first time."

His loyalty is not only to Annie, but extends to anyone he cares enough about. He obviously loves Mags in a paternal/grandparental(???) kind of way. He basically insists that Katniss make Johanna part of their ally team, although whether that's because they've gotten to know each other over the years because they're both victors and now they're super best frans or because they were in on this mockingjay scheme is another one of those millions of things left unclear. Over the course of the books, he becomes very close to Katniss, too, despite his initial interactions with her probably being attempts to win her trust. In their time in District 13, they're more or less all each other has -- or, she's all he has, anyway.

He doesn't tend to lie as much as he makes offhand comments that are truthful but easy to overlook. Example: he talks about how he's paid in secrets in his very first conversation with Katniss, which could be taken as him being flirtychan and playful up until his big confession scene in Mockingjay. One of the most interesting comments he makes in this vein is that he doesn't seem to think he's well-liked. He tells Katniss that Mags is one of the few people who actually likes him. As far as he's concerned (imo), the people of the Capitol don't who scream and throw their panties at him don't like him as much as they want a piece of his fine ass. He says the only person who "likes him", the real him, is Mags, but it probably also extends to Annie (who he was trying to keep his relationship with a secret at this point) and later Katniss.

Abilities:
He doesn't have any ~special powers~, but he's a beast physically. He won the 65th Hunger Games when he was only 14, mainly by weaving nets out of some kind of vine he found and using it to entangle his opponents while he speared them with a trident.

+ He's amazing with a trident; this is usually the weapon he favors.
+ "A good fighter with spears and knives"
+ Knows archery, but it doesn't state how proficient he is.
+ Awesome at making fancy knots. He made a noose in like five seconds.
+ He swims like a fish. Or Aquaman.
+ And, for some cool story bro: "Finnick's style of fighting he used to win his Hunger Games is based on a type of Roman Gladiator, the Retiarius, who used nets to entangle opponents and a trident to finish them. Retiarii had often had reputations as skilled combatants and lovers."

Character Name: Buffy Summers
Character Series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Character Age: 18 (Buffy's age varies through the series, but I'm taking her post 4x05 - Beer Bad so she is 18)
Background: Buffy @ Buffy Wikia
Personality:
Prior to becoming the Slayer, Buffy was rather superficial and shallow, which was a point of great contention with her first Watcher, Merrick. She acted the part of the stereotypical valley girl, all about shoes and shopping and boys. However, after becoming the Slayer was when Buffy's growing up first started. She develops a sense of focus in her life, and while she's not quite soldier material, it definitely put her a rut up above most of her classmates on the responsibility scale.

Overall, she's a naturally snarky girl, who's a fan of quips and likes bantering with demons almost as much as she likes fighting them. She's somewhat klutzy and airheaded at times, but despite this she's shown to be highly intelligent when it comes to formulating plans and doing her job -- probably in part due to her Slayer abilities. She's also bull-headed and stubborn and once she's set her mind on something, she doesn't accept anything less. She makes her destiny what she wants to make of it and doesn't accept the "you are fated to this" crap.

Buffy has mixed feelings about her role as the Slayer. While she does grow to accept it later on in the series, at the point I'm pulling her from, Buffy is still coming to terms with it. She both doesn't want to live without her Slayer calling, because she needs to feel that sense of purpose, but she also views it as a burden, a hurdle between her and the normal life she wants so badly. She wants her biggest problems to be boys and homework. But, she doesn't get the luxury of only worrying about those things -- she has to worry about the fate of the world before the fate of her social and academic life.

Her exposure to the supernatural has forced her to grow up rather quickly. It's through her destiny as the Slayer that Buffy learns the importance of duty and how to put it above other things, like her own feelings. She constantly proves herself capable of making the tough calls. However, that doesn't make her invulnerable to fear. When Buffy learned from Giles that her death was prophesized and that she would be killed by the Master, she tried to quit slaying and leave town. However, when other lives were put at stake by her decision, she came back to fulfill her duty. It showed that while Buffy does fear for her own life, she also puts the lives of others before herself. She's not exactly selfless, but she is definitely hero material.

The Slayer rite, called the Cruciamentum, that Buffy underwent in season 3 in which she lost all her powers and was pitted against a demon took a great toll on her. It took her to her weakest point and put her up against things that she couldn't handle -- not only that, but it turned someone she trusted against her and forced him to betray and hurt her. It put a severe strain on her relationship with Giles and came out to be more of a cruel and unusual punishment for being born into this rather than a lesson of any kind. It puts her in this place where she was alone and she had to fight by herself with no powers and she learned that when it comes down to it, it's just her. Just her and the demons.

Through the trauma of dealing with Slayerdom, she's learned to rely on others like the Scooby Gang but she's also learned that she'll never be able to do that -- she understands that being the Slayer isn't something you can share with anyone. She has to understand that while she'll always want to be and try to be just a girl, she can't ever do that. Because she's not just a girl, she's the Slayer, and she has responsibilities and experiences and a weight on her chest that no one else can understand. It's a responsibility that Buffy has learned to take very seriously and put above her own wants and needs. She sees her duty as something that has to come before other things like school and boys.

While she's always learned to rely on her friends, the Cruciamentum makes it clear that she doesn't get that luxury as a Slayer.

She is alone.

This is one of the most critical identifying traits of Buffy. No matter how many friends she has, no matter how close to them she is, she will always be alone. And it ties into her superiority complex that comes out of being the Slayer. Because she has to deal with all of these things, because this responsibility falls on her and because she has to make the hard choices (like killing Angel) that no one else has to make because of that role, she feels like she's better than them, because they can't understand what she's going through. Their opinions don't matter.

They're not the Slayer. One girl in all the world, a chosen one. She alone will stand against the demons, the vampires and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer. And that's her. Everyone looks to her to lead them, and she will never feel like she can just be in their company and be their friend and be on their level, because she's not. This may be true to a degree, but it's also a self-fulfilling prophecy that leads to Buffy isolating herself from her friends and family, because she doesn't feel like they can ever truly connect to her. She builds up a wall that separates her from them.

This isolation has grown worse than ever in season 4, because after Angel left, a part of her never really recovered. She loved him more than anything, she killed him, and she lost him. And she's scared to ever love like that again. "Open your heart to someone, and he bails on you." The way her father did. The way Angel did. She makes it incredibly difficult to breach the walls that she puts up because of this.

When Buffy met Kendra, the second slayer, it was a big stepping stone for her. Meeting someone else who could do exactly what she did, and had the same fate as she did, and yet accepted it so much better than Buffy did changed her in a lot of ways. It helped her accept that being the Slayer didn't have to be a burden, but it could be a gift. Kendra, the dedicated soldier, showed Buffy that it was an honor to be chosen to save the world. However, Drusilla killed Kendra, and Buffy suffered the loss of a dear friend -- but Buffy kept Kendra's stake, Mr. Pointy, as a memory of her.

On the other hand, Faith taught Buffy some very different things. Faith taught Buffy that there is a line, and while Slayers are powerful enough to cross it, that doesn't make it right. She taught her to be more aware of her own boundaries and her own underlying urges. Buffy, just as Faith tried to argue with her several times, has a certain ruthless quality about her -- a killer instinct. All Slayers have it, and though Buffy covers it up with all her duty and her self righteousness about doing the right thing and killing the bad guys, she still has it. It's that violent urge that leads to her stabbing Faith in the gut, even though it was for the sake of saving the love of her life.

The other thing is that it proves how far she's willing to go for the ones she loves -- and it's a pretty scary length. She'd literally do anything to save someone she cares about, be it sacrificing her own life (Angel nearly kills her when she uses her own blood the cure the poison Faith introduces into his system) or sacrificing someone else's (she wanted to use Faith's blood). If the person means something to her to that degree, she'd destroy worlds -- and as the Slayer, she can.

However, Faith also taught her about forgiveness when people are looking for it. Buffy claimed that she had tried everything to help Faith when she first began her downward spiral, but it became clear that wasn't true when Angel started getting through to her and Buffy went to L.A. and found them together. Buffy was hurt and betrayed by her own immature and jealous feelings, but eventually came to accept that Faith was looking for forgiveness and trying to make right what she'd screwed up, and Buffy came to forgive her and even respected her decision to turn herself in.

That said, Buffy, despite how mature she's had to become, is still an intensely immature person. She often lets herself get distracted by petulance, jealousy and petty arguments. The smallest, most insignificant thing can become something that she fixates on and blows way out of proportion. She's very possessive, and doesn't let go of things easily -- even after she and Angel say their goodbyes, when she sees Faith with him in L.A. (in season 4, about fifteen episodes after her canon point), it kicks up the same jealous reaction she had when seeing them together in season 3 prior to their break-up. She doesn't like other people playing with her things, and she just generally doesn't like sharing.

It was one of the greatest contenders between her and Faith -- Buffy's only child complex. She has a hard time viewing the world outside the scope of her own wants, needs and desires. Normally, it's not an issue, because her own desires and needs involve Slayerdom and therefore saving the world, but when it comes to the more day-to-day stuff, it can be a trial to deal with. She's self-involved and can occasionally get so wrapped up in her own life that she is neglectful of her friends and/or boyfriends.

But, Buffy also has a complex of having to take care of everyone and be everyone's mother. It doesn't get really inflated until Dawn's appearance, but it's been there since day one. Her egocentrism and only child complex present in the form of taking the blame and guilt for any time someone gets hurt, even if it's not through direct or indirect action by her. She feels responsible for everyone's life because she is the Slayer. She's constantly the savior, constantly the one scolding people who screw up, and she just generally has to take on a whole lot of roles that she's not ready for.

Buffy is self-righteous. She's the very textbook definition of self-righteous. When it comes to Buffy, because of how much of a natural born leader she is and because of how seriously she takes her role as the Slayer and how much experience she's had in calling the shots and saving the world (successfully!) doing it, it's her way or the highway. It is what causes her to break ties with the Watcher's Council, and it's also what causes it to be tough for her to get along with certain people and butt heads. The potential Slayers in season 7 call her out on it and impeach her from being their leader because they can't tolerate it, but it is prevalent far before then. The only reason it comes to a head then is that it's the first time her self-righteous approach didn't succeed -- it resulted in casualties and injuries, and they turned on her that time. But, she is always that way, even from day 1.

She doesn't know how to accept being wrong and she has a sense of pride that is often overwhelming and keeps her from admitting she's wrong when she does finally come to terms with the fact that she is. It's a part of the burden of being the Slayer, as well. The Slayer doesn't get the luxury of admitting she's wrong. She has to be right because she is justice. She is the law. Always. So, she can't waver. And, for Buffy, it gets taken a little overboard when she takes it into her every day life as well. Even in her personal relationships, she doesn't like to admit personal culpability. It's part of what makes her such a contradiction. She'll blame herself and take responsibility for the injuries and deaths of people that were out of her control, but she won't admit when she's in the wrong and back down. Once she's made up her mind, it's made up. When Riley is feeling disconnected because she's not opening up to him after Angel? It's not her fault. He shouldn't be seeking that connection elsewhere or blaming it on her.

Character Name: Isabelle "Izzy/Iz" Lightwood
Character Series: The Mortal Instruments
Character Age: 16

Background: Link!

Stuff that's left out of the above: Basically, Isabelle is the second child of a family of Shadowhunters (aka the secret police of the "Hidden" supernatural world that most people don't know exists), that was exiled for the complicity of her parents in a secret organization called the Circle who tried to spark an Uprising against allying on any level with sub-humans. Until recently, Izzy was unaware of what exactly her parents' crimes entailed: all she's known is that unlike most Shadowhunters, she didn't grow up in their home land, but rather in New York City, where her family owns and operates a Shadowhunter Institute. She was privately trained and taught by both her parents and the Lightwood's tutor, Hodge Starkweather, and had little contact with other children. Her entire life revolves around demon hunting, and while she's very social, it's always with those who are already "in the know" of the Hidden World: mostly Downworlders (vampire, werewolves, faeries, warlocks, etc.)

Personality:

The family sigil of the Lightwood family is the letter "L" surrounded by flames - and more than anyone else in her family, Isabelle seems to personify that element of fire, both inside and out. Beautiful, impossible to look away from, but dangerous, unpredictable, and impossible to contain or restrain.

Izzy's surface personality is so strong that to most people, it doesn't seem to leave room for much hidden beneath the surface, and they often don't bother to look. Her physical appearance is striking enough to turn heads everywhere she goes: dark, mysterious, tall, and confident, and she's very aware of the fact. Isabelle doesn't shy away from using her looks to her advantage, and therefore comes across as exceedingly vain, spending a great deal of time on her personal appearance, and fashion sense. Just like any young woman, however, she finds room for insecurity, and tends to feel as if her height intimidates men, openly wishing that she could look smaller and more delicate and expressing jealousy over those who are.

In fact, for someone who professes not to invest too much emotionally in other people, she's incredibly quick to anger and jealousy, and the depth of her passionate outbursts betrays her otherwise detached demeanor. The reasons for her facade run deep. When she was only thirteen, Izzy's father had an extramarital affair, and her mother, a harsh, humorless woman, entrusted her teenage daughter with the knowledge and expected her to keep it a secret from her siblings. She also informed Isabelle that men were not to be trusted, and by extension, Izzy grasped onto the notion that it was safest to just not trust anyone, in order to protect your own heart. She specifically distances herself from people with her superficial behavior, and even though she's had many, many flings with various Downworlders, she specifically latches onto boys that she knows won't expect a commitment out of her (or, in Simon's case, ones she thinks have already given their heart to someone else, and therefore aren't at risk of falling in love with her). She rejects the ideals of romance, and spent her teenage years feeling as if those who bought into that kind of fairy tale were either a) weak or b) fooling themselves and dooming their hearts to being broken. She doesn't see what her mother did as burdening her - rather, in her eyes, she was being given a great deal of responsibility, which she was only too proud to shoulder.

This fact is probably what lies at the very core of Isabelle's real character. Loyalty comes to her as naturally as breathing does, which seems completely at odds with the image she presents, of someone fickle, self-centered, and uninterested in the lives or feelings of anyone else. While her attitude might seem haughty or bitchy most of the time, she is also fiercely protective of those that she loves, and would do absolutely anything for them. Despite the serious nature of her older brother Alec, Isabelle is actually the most responsible member of her family, and the one who acts as caretaker to them all in her own ways. She even admits that a large reason for her flings with Downworlders (flings her parents greatly disapproved of) was to keep them focused on her romantic escapades, so that they would never focus on Alec and realize that he was hiding his homosexuality from them. Izzy considers her greatest personal failure to be not being able to protect her younger brother Max, but instead of wallowing in guilt like her brothers might, she turns her grief into determination, which is certainly the more mature choice.

Izzy finds an escape from the pressures of responsibility in the release of sex and violence. She professes to hate the moments right before a battle, the uncertainty of anticipation, the necessity of concentration when you aren't certain what you're focusing on. But when embroiled in an actual fight, she doesn't have to think about anything else but fighting. It's speculated that other than her adopted brother Jace (who has special powers from experiments done on him as a baby anyways), she is potentially the best Shadowhunter her age living, and Simon remarks that it's only when she's hunting or thinking about hunting that her eyes truly come alive. She comes from an excessively proud family, and that pride is wound into her core inextricably, so that she sees what she does as not only the highest calling, but a part of her identity.

There is, of course, a negative side to her intensely emotional nature, and it manifests largely in her terrible temper. She throws fits, lashes out, gets violent, and otherwise scares the pants out of anyone who manages to piss her off or get in her way. All of her maturity can go out the window if it means that she gets to throw out a particularly scathing remark, and she doesn't know how to control her tongue, or really see a reason why she should. Much of that sense of entitlement comes from being raised by her snobbish family, isolated away from any other humbling influences. She's used to looking at "mundanes", or regular humans, as victims or weaklings, and even though she cavorts with Downworlders, her family still looks down their noses at them, and it's taken a lot of the events revolving around the mortal instruments to get her to re-examine her preconceived ideas.

For all of Isabelle's superficiality, she's anything but stupid, and her vocabulary, knowledge of demons, and wit can attest to the fact. She's also excessively good at improvising, which manifests most plainly in the way that she fights, but also contributes to her general spontaneity.

Abilities:

Canonically, as a Shadowhunter, Izzy has access to runic magic that enhances speed, strength, dexterity, and more, accessible by drawing appropriate runes on her skin with a magical artifact called a 'stele'. These can also be used to heal injuries, improve eyesight, open doors, etc. etc. Trained since she was young to use a variety of weapons, Izzy is completely at home in battle, though her preference is to use a special golden electrum whip. She's also skilled with daggers and the Shadowhunter weapon known as a seraph blade, and she tends to rely on using her charms and feminine wiles to gain an edge when she can. She's also been tutored privately her entire life on a number of topics.

Character Name: Anya Jenkins
Character Series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Character Age: 1140 (appears and acts approximately 20)
Background: Wiki!
Personality: Spending a thousand years as a demon did not give Anya a great picture of how normal humans interact. On top of that, the other villagers had considered her odd even as a human. She can be very blunt, often saying exactly what she means instead of being tactful or euphemistic. She has very little shame and only the loosest idea of what’s appropriate. She says exactly what she's thinking at any given time.

She's also very greedy and self-centered. She likes it when Xander pays attention to her, not other people. She really likes money and thinks capitalism is a great economic system, though she didn't always feel that way. She likes pretty things and has no qualms about telling people that she wants their stuff. She appreciates things such as recompense for a hard day's work and presents. She is terrified of rabbits, but likes monkeys a lot.

Anya has a lot of trouble dealing with her own mortality. As a demon, she would have lived forever. She already lived a thousand plus years. Now that she's human, her long life is doomed to come crashing to a screeching halt relatively soon. Humans don't live very long, and when they do, they spend the last few years looking wrinkled and unattractive and not being able to do much because their bodies are so worn out. Anya has a lot of trouble with the idea that age and death will happen to her. She finds it terrifying and upsetting. She also doesn't know how to deal with other's deaths. Sure, she's seen many people die, and has killed more than a few of them herself, but the death of someone she cares about is disturbing to her. In "The Body," she talks about how death is stupid and mortal and she doesn't understand it.

Mostly, though, Anya is pretty upbeat. She's seen so much destruction and horror, and caused so much of it, that things that disturb normal people leave her unphased. Though she is certainly capable of being unhappy or angry, most of the time, she's not. She has a tendency to casually talk about the gruesome things she's done in the same way someone might discuss picking up their laundry. It happened, and even if she doesn't do it anymore, she's not exactly repentant.

Anya has a tendency to cling to the things she has. This isn't just about objects, though she certainly shows a tendency towards greediness, but she throws herself full-heartedly into whatever she does. As Aud, she was dedicated to her love of Olaf, though he didn't feel the same way. After she turned him into a troll, vengeance became her life. Though some demons, such as Halfrek, choose to do things outside of work occasionally, Anyanka never did. In the episode Selfless, she claims, "Vengeance is what I am." Her entire identity is based off her job. That makes it that much more devastating when she loses her power center and turns into a human.

Lost and confused, she grabs onto the next thing available, Xander Harris, the man she was sent to curse. She followed him around until he fell for her too, and she becomes Xander's girlfriend. She sings a song, also in Selfless, about how she'll now be his Mrs and how she'll never let him go now that she has him. It's a new identity to take on, someone else for her to be. She pins all her hopes on him, entirely molding her personality around what she thinks he'd like, and she's again shattered when he doesn't pull through. She ends up afloat again, tries to get back into vengeance, finds it's upsetting again, and eventually gives up her powers and decides to find out who she is outside of her jobs or romantic interests.

It takes Anya a while to warm up to the rest of the Scoobies. Her lack of social awareness make her difficult to like, and she doesn't really make much of an effort. She especially tends to clash with Willow. For her part, she knows that Willow is the woman with whom Xander cheated, and she doesn't trust her not to do it again even though Willow is gay now. Willow doesn't much trust the ex-demon with Xander, either, and considering they met when Anya was trying to trick Willow into doing dark magic to reclaim Anya's power center, she has reasons to mistrust her. They eventually get closer, and Anya is part of the inner Scooby circle that works to bring Buffy back from the dead. However, Anya still doesn't hesitate to tell Willow when she thinks she's been using too much magic, or later, that Willow should just start using it again to break out of the house within which they're trapped. Willow tries to help Anya when the vengeance is getting out of control in early Season 7. Though they eventually warm up to each other, they never end up best of friends.

Though it was Giles, not Buffy, who destroyed Anya's power center, Buffy is the Slayer and Slayers are traditionally fairly anti-demon. They are awkward around each other at first, and Buffy doesn't take her relationship with Xander seriously, thinking he was just taking advantage of her unquestioning devotion. After her relationship with Riley ends she changes her mind and looks to them as a beacon of hope, that love can actually last, and that they have to work out because her relationship didn't. She and Anya grow closer through the seasons until Buffy considers her one of her best friends. That friendship isn't enough to stop Buffy from trying to kill Anya when she learns of what Anya's been doing as a demon, but she does later work to save Anya's life after she's given up her demon powers. Anya resents that a little because she was trying to be her own person, but on the other hand, she doesn't want to die, so she accepts Buffy's help.

Anya doesn't care for Giles at first. He is stuffy and British and fairly responsible for her lack of demon powers. She also finds his stories and lectures boring, and she doesn't hesitate to tell him. They don't get along very well in Season 4, but in Season 5 he hires her on at his store, the Magic Box. Her knowledge of demons and the arcane, plus her extreme aptitude with money make her a great employee. The shop gives her a new purpose in life, and she grows closer to Giles, to the point that he leaves her the store when he goes to England. Though she makes sure to tell him he can't have the store when he returns to America, she still has a great deal of affection for him. But his lectures are still boring.

Though Anya and Spike don't talk much, occasionally the two of them run into each other when they both are feeling pretty low about their lot in life and commiserate over how stupid life is and how much easier things were when they could both just kill the people who made them miserable. They have a lot in common, what with both being former threats that are now incapacitated, and being outsiders to the fairly tight-knit group. They also both have a certain bluntness, though Anya's is more thoughtless while Spike's is often somewhat mean.

Anya isn't very good with children, as is demonstrated by her relationship with Dawn. Dawn is a teenager when she first shows up, but Anya treats her like a very young child. Though this irks Dawn, Anya doesn't really notice and continues to do it.

Really, Xander and Giles are the two people who help her most in growing accustomed to human life. Willow mostly argues with her, and Buffy has other things to worry about most of the time. Xander, though, takes the time to teach her about human ways and correct her when she's being even more socially inept than usual. Giles offers her a job, and teaches her how enjoyable earning money is. Selling things to customers is what really teaches her how to be at least somewhat less blunt as customers have a tendency to not buy things if the shopkeeper berates them. She never fully loses her strangeness, but she does learn to fit in a little bit better.

Abilities: As a demon, Anya had the power to grant wishes, any wish, so long as it's made by someone with a thirst for vengeance. It can be anyone, but she prefers women because of her own issues with men. She can also teleport and survive things like swords through the chest and has some limited telekinesis abilities. Plus superstrength and the ability to sense people who are crying out, presumably mentally, for vengeance. She can blend in with humans, but she can also take on a monstrous demon visage.

She has none of these powers without her power center, which comes in the form of a necklace. Without it, she's a normal human, though she retains all her knowledge from her extremely long life.

Sample Entry:

What is this? [Anya’s voice is high pitched, the words sharp and fast.]

I didn’t expect the money to be as good as it would be in 2000, of course. I remember the 1950s and I know what “inflation” is. But that’s now compared to then! Not… women compared to men! I am an excellent employee! I deserve excellent monetary compensation!

[She pauses, seething a bit.]

If I still had my demon powers I would rip out the manager’s spine for such unfair treatment of women. It simply isn’t right.

Other Characters Played: Hajime Aikawa from Kamen Rider Blade, and I’m also planning on apping Ted Kord/Blue Beetle II from DC Comics.

Preferred Housing: Pinkie would very much like to have a home with the currently apping Willy Wonka.

Character Name: Pinkie Pie
Character Series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Character Age: She seems to be past school-age, at least, but she’s still young. Young adult? (She’s also going to be a pet anyway…)

Background: http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Pinkie_Pie

Personality: Pinkie’s philosophy in life can best be summed up in the musical number “Smile, Smile, Smile,” in which she’s singing about her desire to make all of her friends smile. This becomes more important when you realize she will try to make friends with everyone, even though they may initially rebuff her attempts at making friends. (Which will probably go double for Mayfield.)

She doesn’t take failure at making friends well, and she will hang around and keep trying to the point of extreme annoyance on the part of the unreceptive party. When Cranky Doodle Donkey comes to down, she initiates her usual checklist of things she does upon meeting a new person:
1. Meet someone new.
2. Sing random songs.
3. Instant best friends!
When this fails, she will stop at nothing to befriend the donkey, which actually results in her making things much worse between them when she accidentally burns one of his scrapbooks. The thought that there might be someone she can’t make friends with drives her crazy (well, crazier), and she can’t give up on making friends. She does eventually succeed by reuniting Cranky with his lost love, Matilda, proving she’s willing to jump through hoops for her friends.

If there’s one thing Pinkie loves to do, it’s party. Pinkie Pie got her Cutie Mark through her partying, and she hasn’t stopped since. She comes equipped with a Party Cannon she uses to set up parties as quickly and in the most fun way possible. Pinkie can and will throw a party at a drop of a hat and for any old reason, even if it’s an after birthday party for her pet alligator, Gummy. Her parties always involve balloons, streamers, games, dancing, cake, and just generally having a general good time in the sort of way a human five-year-old might.

Pinkie’s idea of partying doesn’t always sit well with everyone else’s idea of partying. She gets the chance to attend the Grand Galloping Gala, which is the biggest social event in Equestria. She’s under the impression that it’ll be the party to end all parties, only her idea of partying doesn’t mesh with high society’s idea of partying. What is supposed to be the Best Night Ever turns into the Worst Night Ever for her at that point, though the night rebounds when she and her friends all realize they’ve all had horrible nights.

Pinkie is also surprisingly resourceful, even if she is resourceful in ways that make no sense. She’s got balls stashed all over Ponyville “In case of ball emergencies.” The same goes for eyepatches. It would not be surprising for it to be revealed that Pinkie had some other odd items squirreled away in various places as well. She can be highly illogical and random at times, and all of her friends have learned that it’s easier to just roll with it.

When confronted by frightening things, Pinkie is just as likely to sing or at them as anything else. She claims it’s something her grandmother taught her, and she’s easily able to sing and laugh away in the scariest of situations…unless it’s a situation like Nightmare Night, where being scared as fun. Then she’s a big chicken, because running around screaming like an idiot is her idea of a good time.

Abilities:

Pinkie has the time-honored cartoon ability to appear where she is most unwanted or unexpected; she can pop out from just about anywhere unexpectedly, even when it seems like there’s no physically possible way for her to have gotten from Point A to Point B. She also possesses many exaggerated wacky cartoon-style reactions and the ability to ignore physics as they pertain to her.

Pinkie Pie has a Pinkie Sense, which lets her sense things like whether or not random objects will be falling from the sky, or if someone should watch out for suddenly opening doors. It’s useful for predicting immediate events, and it gives her amazing reflexes. Pinkie Sense is usually communicated through various parts of Pinkie’s body twitching uncontrollably. What’s twitching and when defines the event the Pinkie Sense is picking up.

Pinkie is also in possession of a Party Cannon, which can be used to quickly and efficiently decorate any potential party space.

Hey, everypony! Just because we’re all stuck here doesn’t mean we still can’t have some fun! So I’m throwing a biiiig party at my house! Right now! I’ve got cupcakes in the oven, and we’ll have balloons and music and games and confetti and streamers and it’ll be great! Come on over!

And don’t worry, my housemates won’t mind at all~

[And no, Pinkie hasn’t asked her housemates about this at all. If you’re listening in on the extension or are otherwise within earshot, you might want to talk her out of it, unless you like really loud parties.]

[B – John Doe Park]

[Pinkie has somehow obtained a bunch of balloons and is now handing one out to everyone who walks by.]

Hey! How are ya? Here, have a balloon! We’re friends and balloons are awesome! Here, take one, I have plenty! Come on, don’t be shy!

[You are now having a balloon forced upon you by a talking pink pony. A very persistent talking pink pony. Refusing the balloon will guarantee Pinkie will follow you until you take one or otherwise distract her.]

Character Name: Gilgamesh Bilgames (The last name was added to fit Mayfield's first, last name naming thingamajig)
Character Series: Fate/Zero
Character Age: Hundreds of years old, no exact number
Background: The Epic of Gilgamesh
The Fourth Holy Grail War
Personality: Gilgamesh has a very, very high ego. It is his greatest weakness by far. Instead of fighting his enemies he tends to talk a lot... ALOT! He will laugh or mock his opponents for durations of 5 minutes and not once give them the dignity of being called an opposing force. He looks at his opponents under generic concepts such as child, woman, human, master and insults all of them equally. The sexism is quite clear as sometimes he won’t even use Sabers name but instead call her woman or female. In general he is here for one reason, to destroy a world that believes in democracy and recreate one where the strong live and the weak die off. This is the kind of world he wishes to rule over and plans to use the Grail to fulfill that wish.

Gilgamesh won’t interrupt a fight unless he feels the need to get personally involved in it; otherwise he'll let people amuse him like they were putting on a show. One thing that will make him lose his composure is when someone tries to lay claim to what he feels is rightfully his by decree of his own will and status. People, possessions, or even knowledge he will claim as his own and claim to be the only one that deserves to have it. He takes what his eyes want and uses them as he wishes. The king is obsessed with the treasures in this world and specifically the rarest ones. Anything that happens before his eyes is classified as something "he let happen" which means he could of stopped it if he so chose to. Specifically right now his obsession is for the King of Knights who let him rot in the contents of the Grail in the fourth war. Golden Boy sees her as the highest representation of mans authority and thus by claiming her he would hold that power. He enjoys making her suffer and relishes in the idea of defiling her mind body and soul.

Gilgamesh has the most arrogance of any hero in history. He makes no effort to hide it either; he'll speak to anyone as if they were his own disobedient populace and punish them for their non-compliance. As a king the man believe his will to be law and those that go against that law need to receive the ultimate form of justice to suit the crime being committed. Still most opponents are not treated as such, in his mind they are already dead so he simply plays games with them until his will decides that he’s grown tired of playing. Proof of this is in his very fighting style. The king doesn't really move from where he is standing unless forced to. Standing like a statue he'll unleash powerful assaults and in the end all he’s really doing is challenging them to see if they can get him to move. With the gate open his advisories have to work their way up to a tree just to get this man to take them seriously. At the very top of this tree is the right to be attacked by Ea, however most opponents fall during the volley of Noble Phantasm's raining down from his gate.

Abilities: Gilgamesh has an ability called Gate of Babylon which, in it's simplest sense, allows him to create a rip in reality that allows him to access his treasury. He can pull numerous Noble Phantasms, weapons used by Heroic Spirits in the Fate series, from it. He's also got Servant status, and other perks that come with it. Once he gets these back they'll be elaborated on further.

Character Name: Dante

Character Series: Devil May Cry

Character Age: Adult; not too sure on his actual age.

Background: Post Devil May Cry 4 . Chronologically, the series goes 3, 1, 4, 2. Since no one talks about 2, he’s being pulled after 4.

Personality: There is one immediately noticeable trait of Dante’s: he’s very much full of himself. His cockiness stems from his confidence as a demon hunter and from his unrivalled sense of style. One could say that Dante is prideful or even egotistical, however those words imply that he’s a boaster with no talent. Let it be known that that statement is entirely untrue; Dante has a very long history of battling demons and corrupted humans, battles that not only demonstrate his power as a half-demon and son of the legendary dark knight, Sparda, but the ever present sense of showing off his talent to others via unethical, but stylish techniques. That said, Dante also has a sense of playfulness about him; despite all of his encounters with fearsome demons and intimidating situations, the demon hunter very rarely takes things seriously. He’s more for exchanging witty dialogue and toying with his enemies before actually fighting them.

But despite his constant laid-back and “play it cool” demeanor, Dante is very much capable of emotions and loyalty to others. The greatest example of this would likely be the ending to Devil May Cry 3 where he ultimately defeats his brother, Vergil, in combat and he chooses to stay in the demon world as opposed to return to the human world. He and Dante were constantly at each other’s throats and fighting each other, but after watching his brother fall further into the demon world and preventing Dante from saving him, Dante cried over the loss of his brother. Dante has a history of befriending those he has less then preferable encounters with; whether it’s his charm or his inability to hold a grudge, Dante can look past the harm others have caused him and make allies out of them. Trish, for example, was a demon created in the image of Dante’s mother to lure him into a trap by posing as a client. After their inevitable battle, Trish chose to give up her life to spare his and after the true villain was defeated, she partnered up with Dante and worked with him in his office, appropriately titled "Devil May Cry."

Which brings up the next noteworthy aspect of Dante’s character: his strong sense of justice. Over the course of his career as a mercenary and demon hunter, he learned that the only way for a demon to reach their true power is to have the will to protect others, a very human trait that he respects. He’s also learned that humans can sometimes be worse than demons, what with ambitions that can get corrupted or as opposed to a typical demon’s functioning on instincts, humans function with full consciousness and awareness. Ironically, Dante refuses to kill a human under any circumstances, likely because they have a level of potential that demons rarely possess. Trish, for example, was a demon who demonstrated human traits by protecting Dante, letting him forgive her betrayal and not see her as an enemy.

On the flipside, humans who surrender their humanity for demonic power are more than liable to meet their end by Dante’s hands. Characters like Arkham (Devil May Cry 3) and Agnus (Devil May Cry 4) relinquished their humanity for power and were eventually killed off by Dante. While it may sound complicated, it essentially boils down to Dante viewing the duality of human behavior as a device to help him judge whether someone can be saved from their torment and ultimately spared, or if they should be killed so they can’t harm any other people.

It should also be noted that Dante can sometimes be supportive to a fault. As a mercenary, he gets all sorts of jobs offered to him and tends to pass on those with high pay if he doesn’t want to do them, but he always takes on the ones that catch his interest (paranormal acts, demon hunting) regardless of how little the pay may be offered. He’ll even forget about the fees if the person is too poor to bring the fees upfront, which often leaves Dante in a financial rut. He’s usually in debt to someone, whether it’s his fellow demon hunters or the pizza place he loves ordering from; he’ll often try to gamble for the money, but it should be known that Dante has terrible luck and can’t really win things unless it’s some sort of fight.

Sometimes Dante can be gruff and might not always look reliable, but anyone who makes a friend out of him will have one hell of a drinking buddy or guardian figure. He tries not to judge by first interactions, but if he catches wind of evil activity, he’ll do everything he can to stop it, which may lead to him trying to crack a few skulls…or shoot ‘em; whatever works.

Abilities: Half-demon: Demons can already take a lot more punishment than normal humans can, but because Dante’s the son of the Legendary Dark Knight, Sparda, he’s much more powerful than them. This is essentially his source of super strength, agility, magic and incredible durability. This also includes some self-healing since major injuries aren’t able to keep him down in canon.

Master of combat: Dante is incredibly skilled with all sorts of weaponry, let it be guns, blades, scythes, guitars, rifles, hand to hand and almost every type of weapon; this is more of a natural talent and magic isn’t necessary for him to fight, but he often uses it to augment his attacks.

Style changes: They serve more as combat styles for how he battles his enemies, ranging from gunslinger (gun-based attacks), swordmaster (melee attacks), trickster (dashing and extra agility) and royal guard (defensive blocking and countering). Some of them stem from his natural combat prowess, but most of it comes from being fueled by his demonic magic. These will be a separate regain from his half-demon body.

Devil Trigger: This is pretty much when Dante unleashes his powers and transforms into his demon form. With it, his healing is bolstered as well as his attack strength, speed and defense. It’s also capable of flight and ranged magic attacks, but those sort of abilities change depending on the weapon he has in his hands.

Sample Entry: A dear mun post

As well as something else for Mayfield!

(You’d think getting robbed of all his power would at least bring his ego back down into reality, but it didn’t. Not in the slightest. So that’s why he’s picking up the phone to bother the residents of Mayfield.)

You know, the whole lack of demons thing kind of makes this place pretty decent…but the problem? It’s putting me out of work. Plus it’s damn boring here; where are the pizza places? Can’t a guy take it easy with delivery once in a while? Come on, man; that ain’t right…

…tell you what; since this place needs all the excitement it can get, how about I do you all a favor and show you some of the best guitar skills you’ve never seen before? Get to the park at 8 tonight and you’ll be in for a hell of a show.

In fact, it's safe to say that he is extremely introverted to the point of having others, such as his friend Shizuka, take care of his problems and talk for him while he just keeps to himself. He also has a habit to pull out a notebook with pre-written lines as a way to talk to others as well as use a mask and a pair of goggles since he believes that he's allergic to the world. However, this is largely in his head and has been commented on by Shizuka herself. He also has a strong penchant to take a bath whenever he feels depressed or unsure about what to do, in which Kivat, his companion (as well as transformation device), gives him advice on what to do from here on out. How well the advice sticks and is utilized is entirely up to Wataru, however he does at least try to do his best with the advice that he's been given.

When Wataru is around other people like himself (shy, quiet, reserved -- all of the above), he tends to be more comfortable and a bit more open than he originally would if he was around those who are more outgoing, extroverted and loud. Yet, this doesn't mean that Wataru absolutely refuses to change into someone who can carry a conversation without awkwardly stuttering all over the place or to be someone who is more outgoing rather than not. To those who have been his friends or people he admires, he tries his best to keep up with a conversation or try to help them out. An example of his helpfulness is that with all the bad things that his father, Otoya Kurenai, supposedly did, Wataru decided to take it upon himself to help right his wrongs by doing a series of odd jobs so that the people he scorned could forgive him despite everything. Another thing about him is that he's protective to some degree. This was demonstrated when he met Takeo Omura and instead of killing him, he decided to scare him out of his trance and told him to get away and go somewhere safe where he wouldn't hurt anyone else, including himself.

One of the most important people in Wataru's life is his father. At the very beginning, we can see that Wataru wants to make his father proud with the legacy he left behind and thus, he sets to work to find the perfect ingredients for a varnish for his violin - but not just any violin. In Wataru's mind, he wants to surpass the masterpiece known as the Bloody Rose and to remind him of that goal, he has it stored in a cabinet with a glass panel so that he can constantly observe it as he works and reminds himself of his goal. He also shares quite a few similarities with his father, such as his need to help others out when they need it. Another one would be his lack of social graces, such as when Wataru was observing a table by the coffee house he frequents, he asked the owner if he could have it just because he was that fascinated by the varnish it had and he wondered just how he could replicate it for his violins.

Another important person in Wataru's life is Keisuke Nago, whom he idolizes as a strong person and he asks him for his help in getting more confident in himself and his abilities. Though, when Nago decides to announce that he will personally kill Kiva, Wataru grows wary of him and tries to see him as a friend still. Yet, the relationship between the two of them grows further strained when it's revealed that Nago is Kamen Rider IXA and that he decides to kill Takeo Omura himself so as to return the life he so had. Wataru is understandably shaken up about this and at this point, he really doesn't know what to think of Nago and himself when he's so set on ridding the world of Fangires and Kiva himself.

And finally, someone else who is important in Wataru's life is his childhood friend Taiga Nobori. In his neighborhood and early on in life, Wataru would sadly fall under the victim of bullying and Taiga offered a hand to Wataru so that he wouldn't feel so alone in the world. However, as the two grew up, Wataru and Taiga drifted apart and he was alone until he met up with Shizuka Nomura and the two became close friends. Over time, the two of them would become great friends to the point where Wataru would have her "fight his battles", so to speak, and have her talk for him where he would feel overwhelmed with so many responses. Shizuka has, also, kept Wataru calm through his obsessive episodes, as well as be there for him when he's felt down in the dumps and felt like he was worthless for not getting his varnish to be absolutely perfect for a violin. He has also gone as far as to burn the violins he was working on because they were, in his eyes, not good enough and that disposing of them through burning would be better.

As Wataru's world keeps on turning up and down in different directions, he still strives to be the person he knows he can be and someone that can make others proud of him in the end. That being said, Wataru is largely someone who wants to find his place in his world, and even though he has a few oddities about him, he truly does want to improve into a better person overall so thhat he can surpass his father and make his own ultimate violin with the ultimate varnish as well as protect the music in each person he comes across and those that he cares about.

Abilities: Wataru is Kamen Rider Kiva, and as such, he has access to the primary form of Kiva, as well as several other forms at his disposal. He's able to assume the form through Kivat, a mechanical bat-like creature that lends their power to someone for a transformation. When Kivat bites down on his hand, a series of stained-glass like designs appear with his half-fangire heritage coming to the surface. This is because Kiva cannot be used by humans under any circumstances. For his other forms, Garulu, Basshaa and Dogga, these require the usage of Fuestles and the respective Fangires (Jirou, Riki, and Ramon) are needed for him to access these forms.

Outside of his Rider abilities, Wataru is a luthier and he's able to repair and build string instruments, mostly focusing on the violin, viola and cello, though he obsessively searches for the right ingredients to use for a varnish so that he can make his own violin, which entail the uusage of uncommon materials for said varnish. In addition to this, he's able to play the violin and has been shown to play an electric bass guitar for a rock band.

Sample Entry: Um... Excuse me, but... This is Wataru, again.

I've...finished the orders people requested. I can...deliver them as soon as you'd like or j-just drop them off.

[ There's some awkward fumbling before the line apparently goes dead. He doesn't know what else to say and he's really never been the greatest conversationalist on the planet. ]

If t-that's all then... bye for now.

[ Now he hangs up and waits for people to come to his house. This was easier said that done in most circumstances. ]

Character Age: 100 (To the day)
Background: Jenny Sparks was born on January 1, 1900 to a rich family in England. As a girl she was sent to an all girl’s family in Vienna, but was quickly removed from the school when her family died in 1912 while aboard the Titanic and her family’s nemesis stole her fortune. Her godfather Albert Einstein took her in and offered to finish her education in Zurich Switzerland. Before she left Vienna however, she befriended a young struggling German painter named Adolf Hitler and encouraged him to quit painting and take up politics. At the age of thirteen Jenny started to be able to control electricity. As Jenny aged her abilities increased, and by 1919 Jenny stopped aging.
In Jenny’s own words the thirties were a period of scientific romance. This time period held the first discovery of The Bleed and parallel worlds. The most significant to the era was Sliding Albion. Sliding Albion was an alternate Earth where aliens and humans had met and inter-bread during the early Renaissance.

During Jenny’s time in Sliding Albion she and the British of her world entered into a plan to assist Albion’s prince Lorenzo in overthrowing his father’s reign of terror. To do this Jenny married Lorenzo, causing a hostile takeover in Albion. Unfortunately Lorenzo was only using Jenny and the British to overtake his father’s rule due to the belief that his father was too soft. Upon leaving Sliding Albion Jenny was shot by a false Albert Einstein. The only reason she didn’t die was because Angela Spica went back in time to save her life upon the request of Jenny herself from the future.

Jenny continued in the military under the rank of Colonel. She continued to work with other superbeings to make the world a better place, but every time things fell apart in horrible ways. During this era Jenny became close friends with a reporter named Clarence Cornwall.

Character Name: Cade Masters (also: “Sir Cade Masters II,” and “Cade Masters, ADVENTURER EXTRAORDINAIRE!”)
Character Series: Twice Blessed [webcomic] (www.TwiceBlessedComic.com) (Note: I am the writer of this series and since it is a new series, I am using the OC application as per the recommendation of the mods.)
Character Age: 29

BACKGROUND:
Summary: Cade Masters is a bard* who was accidentally ordained as a paladin** of Idamra about 7 years ago (it’s a long story). Since then, he has gained a reputation as a master swordsman, a skilled spellcaster, and a brilliant tactician. However, he is none of those things.
Though at least competent with a rapier, and possessing a variety of low-level magic tricks and healing powers thanks to his bard training, Cade's greatest victories are usually achieved completely by accident. Cade is the “Blessed” of Idamra, goddess of luck, revelry, and passion. Idamra's blessing grants Cade "extreme luck". Not necessarily good or bad luck, just extreme luck. If one were to ask themselves “what are the chances?” and Cade is involved, the answer is often “pretty good”. Cade is likely to discover ancient lost treasures and defeat powerful ancient evils completely on accident, and then convince others (and himself) that it’s just because he is so talented. Likewise, Cade is also likely to bare an unhealthy resemblance to that assassination target or fugitive with the huge bounty on his head, drink the poisoned drink that was meant for some poor noble, and otherwise stumble into very deep shit.
*Note: in Cade’s world, a bard is a wandering minstrel who not only inspires others with epic stories, but goes on adventures to be a part of them. As such, bards train in a wide variety of weapons, skills, and magic, though they rarely master anything other than singing and storytelling.
**Note: a paladin is a holy knight sworn to the cause of a deity and granted limited sacred powers including healing, the ability to detect evil, and the ability to smite undead, demons, etc.

Beginnings: Cade was born in a village on the southern shores of the kingdom of Athair*. His father was a human merchant (and smuggler) with questionable morals and a bad habit of spending money as fast as he got it. His mother was a half-elf with a meek disposition who had studied briefly as a wizard at a University of Magic, but now worked as a tailor and a seamstress (using some simpler magics to make her garments sturdier, stain-resistant, brighter in color, etc.). Cade’s father was usually away from home on business, and during the brief periods he was home, he often got intoxicated and dispensed gems of fatherly advice such as “It isn’t wrong if you don’t get caught” and “It isn’t stealing if they aren’t going to miss it.”
So, it is fortunate that young Cade made friends with an eccentric retired adventurer named Leon. Leon captured Cade’s imagination with stories of his many adventures across Europa, provided emotional support and advice for Cade during the trials and tribulations of adolescence, and trained Cade in a variety of skills such as swordplay, simple magic, storytelling, and a variety of other skills suitable for a bard. In Cade’s teenage years, Leon’s bad health began to catch up with him, and he passed away on Cade’s 16th birthday. On that same day, Cade’s father came home, declared that Cade was too old to continue “mooching” off of him, and kicked him out.
*Note: The kingdom of Athair covers what would be Ireland and Scotland on real-life Earth. Cade’s world (also called Earth) is almost geographically identical to real-life’s Earth. In fact, Cade’s Earth had a near-identical history to our Earth until around 400 BCE, when Plato discovered magic and set off a chain of events that caused the formation of different countries, cultures, religions, and technologies. Deities have a personal connection with their subjects, granting powers to their most devoted clergy. (Each deity is also able to choose one mortal as their “Blessed,” a mortal representative who carries powers that match the domain of the deity that blessed them.) It even caused the appearance of new races and species as it connected the world to a variety of other mystical worlds, such as the Realm of Shadow and the Land of Faerie.

The Bard Years:
Despite the bleak outlook of his situation, Cade’s luck soon changed for the better. The owner of the Everfull Mug, a tavern and inn in the nearby city of Corcach-Mór, had been a friend of Leon’s, and offered Cade a roof over his head and food in his belly in exchange for nightly entertainment. A few months later, Cade discovered he was the sole inheritor of Leon’s will, and though Leon’s home had been sold to pay for his debts, Cade inherited the old bard’s adventuring gear (including a magic sword, armor, and various other wondrous items.)
Until the age of 22, Cade entertained the patrons of the Everfull Mug with song and story and magic. On a rare occasion, Cade would join up with a group of adventurers to save some noble’s daughter or vanquish some seamonster-ghost-thing (or some such) to bring back new stories and treasures, but for the most part Cade contented himself with his life of drunken story-telling and performing.

Blessed of Idamra:
On his 22nd birthday, Cade was thrown a very rowdy party by the many friends he’d made over the years. A lot of free alcohol ended up in Cade’s gut, so Cade was not terribly surprised when he woke up the next morning with a pounding headache and very little memory of the night before. Nor was he surprised by the half-dozen half-naked people passed out in his room, nor by the fact that he couldn’t seem to find his pants anywhere. The tattoo of a playing-card spade on his rump was a bit of a surprise, though he had expected a new tattoo to hurt more.
Cade was a bit surprised when he noticed two sets of Idamran priestess robes as he searched through the discarded clothing. He was more surprised when it occurred to him that this was not his room. When the halfling that had been sleeping (with her head hanging over the foot of his bed) woke up and told him they were in a temple of Idamra, Cade became fairly confused. When she told him that he had “won” last-night’s contest and had been ordained a paladin of Idamra, Cade took off running through the temple... without any pants.
After a big comical spectacle, the Idamran clergy calmed Cade, dressed him, and explained what happened: Cade, thoroughly sloshed, had wandered into the annual competition to see who would be selected as this year’s crop of Idamran paladins. Apparently not even fully aware of what he was doing, Cade came out on top in every challenge and defeated every competitor. Cade was ordained as a paladin right there and then, and then took part in an even bigger celebration back at the temple of Idamra. The clergy explained that paladins of Idamra swore to a much different code than the paladins of stuffier gods such as Veritas; Paladins of Idamra swore to bring freedom to the oppressed, revelry to the depressed, and to do all with the passion of Idamra herself.
What neither Cade nor the clergy realized was that Cade had attracted the attention of Idamra herself, and was chosen as her Blessed. As such, Cade was both blessed and cursed with “extreme” luck, meaning that the improbable frequently became quite probable, be it good or bad. Soon afterwards, all sorts of trouble seemed to find its way to Cade. When a group of elite warriors from Ustav came to kidnap a rich noble, they mistakenly abducted Cade instead. When Cade was travelling through a town, a dragon would attack and Cade would be their one chance for survival. An intricate plot of international espionage would break out, and both sides would come to suspect Cade as master double agent (while he was totally unaware that anything was even going on). Because of Cade’s blessing, he would always come out looking like the victor and the hero, and he developed a reputation as a master swordsman, a cunning tactician, a brilliant mage, a slayer of dragons, and a deadly spy.
Over the past seven years, Cade has come to believe his own hype. Despite still not really knowing what he is doing or getting himself into, Cade goes on adventure after adventure, doing progressively dumber things. He boldly announces himself to enemies when stealth would be wiser. He charges into battle when greatly outnumbered and outgunned. He seems addicted to his own reflection and constantly primps and grooms himself every chance he gets. Luckily, he has gained allies that keep him in check, such as a dwarven warrior from Ustav named Vadim, and a University wizard named Melchior, but even these friends have not yet talked sense into Cade. He had become confident that he can take on any challenge the world will throw at him.
Then, one morning, he wakes up in Mayfield, USA…

Preferred Housing: Wife slot with the Once-ler ([personal profile] truffulacide), if we both get in?

Character Name: Rapunzel (She'll need a last name, I guess?)
Character Series: Tangled
Character Age: 18
Background: Here! Note that Rapunzel is specifically taken just before waking up on the second day of the story (her eighteenth birthday).
Personality:
Rapunzel is primarily three things - Curious, talanted, and sweet. The curiosity comes from her sheltered life, and she longs to know more about what other people's lives are like. In fact, her curiosity is one of her main driving forces. Due to it, she develops the bravery to look at the world as more than just a scary place. She loves to learn about a number of subjects, and approaches the world wide-eyed and ready to be taught - Which leaves her perhaps a bit too impressionable, as seen by how she blindly believes all Mother Gothel tells her.

She has a number of skills she developed early in life, to cope with being bored, and while none of them are particularly helpful in a big-picture sense - She's mostly artistically gifted - it passes the time. As an artist, she's truly exceptional. Painting is her true passion, whereas her other hobbies are more ways of passing the time. So while her artistic gifts are grand, she is not an expert in her other areas of interest, even the other artsy ones. Still, she's not doing these things to be the best - She's doing them to have fun.

She's also quite... Well, really, good - to the point of being somewhat naive and trusting those she shouldn't. Even when Flynn tells her he shouldn't be trusted, she makes a deal with him. She has a positive nature, is incredibly obedient (most of the time, almost always listening to what her mother says), and in general is just a well-intentioned soul who brings out the best in others, such as how she helps Flynn turn his life around. She's non-judgmental, not at all bothered by Flynn being a thief, and very open to new ideas about other people and accepting their flaws. A large part of this is the fact that she's had so few people in her life that she really isn't about to discriminate when it comes to who she gets to know.

Rapunzel can be a bit of a scaredy-cat, but it's not without good reason. While, as mentioned above, she has the ability to bring out the best in people, she was always taught that there was no best in most people. Though she is very trusting of people, her initial reaction is still always suspicion and fear when meeting someone new, which is what leads her to knock Flynn unconscious with a frying pan, etc.

Additionally, she is perfectly capable of being tricky and manipulative when a goal is important to her. On that note, the girl is incredibly determined when she has a dream to reach. She just doesn't give up on wanting to see the lanterns, even if she has to do some wrong - so long as it's not truly cruel - to get where she wants to be. She shows no regret for taking the crown from Flynn, although this may be because she knows it is stolen. On the other hand, though, she disobeys her mother to go see the lanterns, which she has no real justification for. She works hard, faces her fears, such as standing up to the thugs while in the Snugly Duckling, and thinks and acts her way around obstacles when she's on a mission.

But how does Rapunzel see herself? Well, that's a little complicated. She will wake up in the morning feeling pretty good about who she is, but it doesn't take much from Gothel to make her see herself as weak and helpless. However, she is very quick to overcome that when she does something right.

Abilities: Rapunzel has 70 feet of golden hair that glows when a certain song is sung. With the song, her hair can also reverse physical effects of aging, heal wounds, and even bring back the dead.

Other Characters Played: Cain Knightlord, Alphonse Elric
Preferred Housing: 339 Brady Lane (have got permission from housemates)

Character Name: Nabuca
Character Series: Now and Then, Here and There
Character Age: 14
Background: Here
Personality: So much of Nabuca's personality has been dictated and shaped by his 'conscription' into the Hellywood soldiers. He has forced himself to shut off his emotions and much of his morals in order to survive - he follows orders, that's all he does, and he does it exceptionally well. A casual observer might think that he's almost content with his life as a soldier; he never complains, rarely hesitates before giving or carrying out a harsh order, and keeps order well in the small unit that he oversees. However, there is far more under the surface than he allows others to see easily. The driving force behind all his actions is the naive belief in the promises that he will get to go back home to his village once the war is won, promises that all evidence says are complete lies. It's a desperate belief that he feels he has to cling to, or else he has no reason to carry on and, worse, he has no justification for the things he's done.

Near the end of the series, after being confronted by Shu as he's trying to kill a group of unarmed children, he loses his composure and starts to rant about the things he's done, with an almost childish need to be told he has done the right thing and will get to go home. This belief in the lies of King Hamdo is indicative of his stunted emotional growth - he's been thrown into a horror story from a young age, and effectively shut off his emotional development in order to survive. Having nobody to rely on, and having to commit atrocious acts just in order to not be executed himself, this promise of a return to what he had once is something he keeps very dear to his chest. It's only through clinging to this promise that he's able to carry on, and even inspire other members of his fighting unit (most notably Boo) to do the same.

Even before the climax of the story in Zari-Bars, there are a few moments in the story that show how much the war is effecting Nabuca under the facade of a perfect soldier. When he is explaining to Shu that escape is impossible and he should just get used to his life serving Hellywood, he tells how most of people of his village attempted to desert. He, along with other recruits, were given the choice to assist in killing them for this crime of desertion, or join them in getting shot. Feeling he had no choice, he helped to execute people from his home. This was also most likely the time when he retreated into the defensive mechanism of obedience, and when he properly believed the only way to get back home alive was to help King Hamdo win the war. Again, the more human side to him that shows his pain and regret comes when the soldiers are sent into a new village in order to capture more recruits for the war effort, he describes the mission to Shu as something 'worse than killing', and sees himself in the screaming of a small child begging not to be taken away or hurt. However, once the children are 'conscripted', he firmly believes that they all have a duty to fight and help end the war in order to get home. He tells Shu that 'consent doesn't matter' and that he agrees with Tabool that people who refuse to fight shouldn't be allowed to drain the resources of water and food for those who do, and he is only giving him water so he doesn't collapse and become a burden later.

But perhaps the most telling of all is his relationship to Tabool, the last remaining member of his village to still be in the Hellywood army. He tells Shu that Tabool used to be smiling and happy, and there is real regret and grief in his voice as he does so, and it's obvious he still holds hope that the two of them can go home together. It shocks him visibly when Tabool laughs at the notion, showing that he has seen through the lie about leaving long ago and actually wants to be in the war, not even seeing the knife that eventually kills him.

Nabuca is quite a prideful character, who hates to be in anyone's debt. When Shu saves his life at the start, he is embarrassed and furious with himself at having been saved by an enemy. He snaps at the members of his unit when they bring it up, and tells off Shu for bringing it up as well. When Shu is trying to escape with Lala-Ru and Nabuca is the one to find him in the desert, he refuses to turn him in or run away with them (even though the offer is clearly tempting him until his superior's voice is heard calling him), stating that he's only allowing them to go free to clear his debt to Shu. Overall, Nabuca is still just a frightened child that has been taken from his home and damaged, hiding behind the front of an obedient and efficient soldier.

Abilities: Excellent fighter with a knife and hand-to-hand, as well as an accomplished shooter.

Sample Entry: [Phone: Filtered to Children]

[Nabuca doesn't often use the phone, he doesn't feel the need to engage in the idle chatter that most of the people here indulged in. It was like they didn't even realise they were fighting a war sometimes, like they could forget the battles waged just because people didn't always stay dead.

That wasn't a good thing in his opinion, death was a release and a rest well earned at the end of the fight. And this was a fight. Everyone here had become soldiers whether they wanted to be or not, consent was unimportant in the end, they were here now and everyone had a duty to fight or they'd never win.]

You need to stop hiding behind the adults for protection, you are all capable of fighting yourselves. The faster we win this war, the sooner we will be able to return home. If you think you are too weak to fight, arm yourself with that thought.
